Meet Custom Line’s 120

The first Custom Line 120, Vista Blue, is a water toy on steroids. Milan-based yacht designer Francesco Paszkowski’s first effort with the Ferretti Group brings the outside inside. Sole-to-overhead windows surround the salon for sweeping ocean views, although the scene stealers are the sliding doors leading to the cockpit. Closed, the two-piece, electrically operated doors have an airy appeal, but the entire bulkhead (including the door frame) hinges up into a recess in the cockpit overhang. The system was developed with an aerospace company, and it results in a seamless transition from the transom all the way to the 10-seat formal dining area forward of the salon. Adding to the alfresco feel is the cockpit’s teak planking, which continues forward beyond the wet bar and into the salon. Vista Blue’s exterior is also dramatic, with a leaning-into-the-sea profile and bold, black stripes that conceal the hull and deckhouse windows. The Custom Line 120 has a fast-cruise, semidisplacement hull, and the owners of Vista Blue base in the Bahamas. With her 26-knot top speed and 7-foot draft with prop tunnels, they have rapid access to hundreds of watery delights, from Harbour Island to the Exumas and beyond. Power for the Custom Line 120 is a pair of 2,638 hp MTU 16V 2000 M94 diesels, providing a 1,050-nautical-mile range at a cruise speed of 11 knots. ABT-TracStar at-rest stabilizers should keep the yacht steady at anchor. Accommodations for 10 guests start with a 375-square-foot main-deck master stateroom that spans the 25-foot-1-inch beam. The his-and-hers head is finished in travertino bronze and is also full-beam. The stateroom has a desk under a window, a seating area with a Saarinen cocktail table, and walk-in closets. Stitched Italian leather covers the wardrobe bulkheads.
Two mirrored VIP staterooms are aft on the lower deck, with island berths athwartships to maximize the view through the hullside windows. Amidships, off the companionway, are two more guest staterooms with twin berths and fold-down Pullmans. Four cabins are forward to sleep seven crew, with entry to the guest level for housekeeping.
The galley is European-style and separated from the guest areas, with a pantry and prep area opening to the salon. There’s a door to the side deck, and stairs down to the crew quarters. Miele cooktops and an oven, plus a full-size fridge backed by undercounter drawers, should stow enough provisions for a week or more of cruising.
The pilothouse has a centerline helm seat, a chart table to port, and an L-shaped settee with a table aft and to starboard. Steps here lead up to the flybridge as well as down to the galley.
Outdoor enjoyment dominates on the flybridge. A batwing hardtop with a sunroof covers the forward half, and high bulwarks with panoramic-size windows surround the space, allowing views from the protected Minotti chaise longues and settees. Aft, sun pads border a Teuco spa, and misters are fitted for hot Bahamas days.
Teak-planked side decks lead from the bridge forward to another getaway space: the raised foredeck with sun pads, tables, settees and, at anchor, umbrellas for shade. Under the foredeck, and out of sight to all but the crew, is another tender garage with its own crane. Counting the transom garage, this yacht has spaces to stow three tenders out of sight.
The afterdeck has more Minotti loose furniture in a cocktail arrangement, and here, Custom Line and Paszkowski incorporated the builder’s Dual Mode Transom. The door to the transom garage hinges two ways: Swinging up, it provides launching and retrieval of the Williams tender, while hinged down, it reveals a teak beach club that extends into the hull, creating an oversize swim platform.
The owner’s representative and yacht broker, Jason Wood, attests to the high quality of the construction, having stayed at the Ferretti Group yard in La Spezia, Italy, during the build. “To keep Vista Blue — and other Custom Line 120s — light but very strong, the yard uses resin infusion and carbon fiber for a perfect blend,” he says.
Built to RINA and MCA standards, the 120 has floating soles and supplementary thermal insulation in bulkheads and overheads to ensure a quiet and vibration-free ride.
The Custom Line 120 is a clever amalgam of space, style, luxury and performance that should appeal to owners looking to make the mega-yacht move.
Water Toys Galore
Vista Blue has fun to spare. Start with the Nor-Tech 390 Sport that pushes past the 80 mph mark. Then there’s the 16-foot-5-inch Williams Dieseljet 505 that goes up to 40 mph. Stir in a pair of Yamaha HO WaveRunners and a couple of Seabobs with fore-and-aft cameras. Season with paddleboards, scuba gear, fishing equipment, and inflatables like bananas and trampolines, and you have a sure recipe for fun on the water.
Lots of Class
The Custom Line 120 is built to class, meaning it follows the construction and safety regulations from classification societies, which set technical standards to assess and maintain yachts. The 120 is built to RINA (Registro Italiano Navale), which was founded in 1857 in Genoa, Italy, and to MCA (Maritime and Coastguard Agency), the British group whose codes govern commercial and charter yachts carrying up to 36 passengers.

Yachting: The 120 takes a different approach than many other Ferretti Group projects. Why? FP: The design for the new Custom Line 120 introduces new stylistic elements focused on breaking down barriers between the exterior and the interior. Yachting: In particular?
FP: The unusual ceiling opening system for the aft windows further emphasizes the desire to bring the exterior and interior together. It also transforms the aft section of the living area, which is usually not heavily used, into a space that can be enjoyed whether the doors are closed or open.

Custom Line 120’, the new jewel of the series and the first Custom Line planing yacht designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design, is a collaboration between the Milanese architect’s studio, the Ferretti Group Strategic Product Committee and Engineering Department. The Custom Line 120’ reimagines and combines many stylistic elements, even from automotive design and residential architecture, adding thorough research to bring out shapes and volumes, through layout choices in line with the most recent trends in contemporary living. As is tradition, everything is personalized to the owner’s wishes, because a Custom Line yacht represents those who live onboard.
Totally new is the design of the hull shapes and lines, which will be realized by infusing and assembling the built structures together, to ensure maximum strength and lightness, thanks to the use of carbon. The project proposes an aesthetic standard with maximum formal simplicity that creates a unique example of the exterior design and interior settings. The profile is sleek and powerful: strong lines running from bow to stern, giving life to an exciting scene of alternating materials and colors of structural materials and the dark tinted windows; to the cockpit cover and the hardtop, both in metallic gray, give a more aggressive and dynamic look even while in port or at anchor.
The windows in the hull are large and generous, while on deck the windows are floor to ceiling and create direct contact with the sea thanks to the pulpits which replace traditional gunwales. The cockpit design is striking with its contemporary style, thanks to the innovative large window that is divided in two sections and can be opened separately. Another prominent innovation is the elevation of the superstructure. This height difference, compared to the bridge, allows for an unparalleled view from the raised salon. The side windows, which are slightly curved, enhance the feeling of living close to the sea.

38m Custom Line 120 planing yacht launched and named CarMa
Ferretti Group brand Custom Line announced the launch of the 38.4-metre motor yacht CarMa , marking the 10th hull in its Custom Line 120 series.
The planing yacht splashed earlier this month at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona, Italy ahead of her delivery later this year to an owner based in the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) region. The yacht was sold in November 2022 with Ed Dickinson and Kevin Merrigan of Northrop and Johnson acting on behalf of the buyer.
The exterior of CarMa was penned by Francesco Paszkowski Design and features large full-height windows along the length of the vessel's main deck, designed to enhance the indoor-outdoor onboard connection. This design philosophy extends onto the flybridge, where generous wraparound glazing paired with low bulwarks allow for unobstructed views. The top deck also features various setups for lounging and entertaining, including a Jacuzzi aft and ample sunpads forward.
Moving inside, the yacht's layout features five guest accommodations, comprising a main deck master, two doubles and two twins, with an additional four crew cabins.
CarMa 's sporty appearance is complemented by a pair of MTU engines supplying a top speed of 25 knots and cruising speed of 23 knots. With a carbon fibre body maintaining a light weight of 217GT, this Ferretti Group-engineered yacht can reach distances of 1,050 nautical miles when travelling at 11 knots.
According to BOATPro , CarMa is accompanied by seven other Custom Line yachts currently in build with deliveries extending into 2024.

Introduction
Renewal 3 combines comfort with modern elegance. Delivered in 2022, Renewal 3 has only had light, private use and has been maintained to an exceptional standard. Renewal 3 boasts both exterior and interior design by Zuccon International Project.
She welcomes 11 guests across five cabins. The accommodation comprises a main deck full-beam master suite with his ‘n’ hers bathrooms, plus three doubles and one twin cabin (with pullman) on the lower deck.
The generous main salon of Renewal 3 comes with a spacious lounge and a separate formal dining area and connects seamlessly to the aft deck for casual outdoor dining; the main salon has a door opening to a starboard side balcony. A second indoor/outdoor entertaining space can be found in the sky lounge, with flush doors opening to the primary exterior dining space on the bridge deck aft.
Forward of the bridge there is a private dining space with large sunpads forward. The sundeck offers a vast space for relaxation, with a jacuzzi forward, a central relaxation space under the fix sunroof and open sun lounges aft. A Kenyon Texan grill and bar area completes the sundeck. All exterior deck spaces can be shaded with removable biminis as required.
The “Dual Mode Transom” allows for both impressive tender and toy storage, with the ability to convert into a class leading swim platform once at anchor, for easy access to both tenders and the water.

Custom Line 120’: The Art of the Planing Yacht

The new planing yacht, the first designed by Francesco Paszkowski Design, is a masterpiece of nautical art with excellent standards in design, comfort, and performance A feast for the eyes and a pleasure for those who will be onboard at sea, Custom Line 120’ bursts onto the nautical scene with the explosive force of new innovations that are sure to leave their mark. The newest member of the brand’s planing line reimagines and combines stylistic elements from automotive design and residential architecture, with the addition of in-depth research aimed at enhancing the shapes and volumes. Produced in collaboration with the Ferretti Group Strategic Product Committee, headed by engineer Piero Ferrari, and the Engineering Department, it is the first Custom Line yacht to bear the signature of Francesco Paszkowski Design. An array of new key features were included, starting with the design of the hull, with its bottom lines characterized by the extension of the quickwork towards the bow. This choice is the result of careful analyses aimed at reducing resistance to guarantee exceptional performance and consumption, all considering the volumes and the displacement of the vessel. The hull design is inspired by technologies used for racing power yachts, with particular attention and care given to the production of the structures to ensure the maximum strength and lightness. In addition, expert use of carbon in the superstructure made it possible to achieve an elegant design of the part of the flybridge that extends toward the bow without the need for supporting props in the cockpit. EXTERIOR DESIGN The design proposes an aesthetic standard based on perfectly clean lines and forms, which created a coherent unity between the exterior and interior design. The profile is sleek and powerful: taut lines run from stern to bow, creating a spectacular alternation of materials and colours in the light structural surfaces and dark tinted windows. The hull windows are large and generous, and floor-to-ceiling windows on the main deck offer direct contact with the sea, thanks to pulpits that take the place of the traditional gunwales. The side windows on the flybridge make it possible to have a well-sheltered panoramic sun deck. COCKPIT AND INTERIORS OF THE MAIN DECK The cockpit features an innovative glass door that gives access to the lounge. It is inclined at a 45° angle and, in addition to the usual slide opening of the two glass panels, it has a tilting mechanism so that it can be raised completely up to insert into the ceiling. Developed in conjunction with Mecaer Aviation Group, a company that works in the aeronautical industry, the door makes it possible to join the cockpit area to the lounge to create a single environment of more than 80 sq m (861 sq ft) covered in teak, with curtains that can be utilized for separation. Another outstanding innovation is the elevation of the lounge floor, which uses a floating floor to provide an unparalleled view of the sea. The design is inspired by the tenets of luxury residential interior design and proposes, among other elements: - support columns that incorporate lighting, audio, and air-conditioning systems - the large central lounge, fitted with wide, tall side windows that create an effect of greater continuity with the sea. Beyond the formal dining zone, the lobby gives access onto the walkway through a large glass door, as well as belowdecks and to the master suite. From the opposite wall, there is access to the pantry – also reachable from the outside – and then the galley, from which the crew quarters below can be reached. The pantry also gives access to the navigation bridge. Here, the captain can use the LOOP integrated bridge system created in conjunction with Naviop-Simrad, which has touchscreens installed seamlessly into the dashboard, creating a single direct interface with the ship functions and enabling total control. The wide body owner’s suite of over 35 sq m is outfitted with a separate dressing room and full beam bathroom with dual facilities, vanity, and a central shower. On request, the owner can also have a panoramic terrace installed. LOWER DECK There are 4 guest cabins on the lower deck. The 2 VIP cabins astern feature a special arrangement of the beds, which face the bulwark to make the most of the view from the large hull windows. The two forward cabins have single beds, to which a pullman bed can be added. All the cabins have an en-suite bathroom with separate shower. The crew quarters forward include a large dinette, captain’s cabin with desk and private bathroom, a hostess cabin, and two double cabins for the sailors, all with private bathroom and separate shower. EXTERNAL AREAS The comfort of a flybridge and the sportiness of a coupé also blend wonderfully on the sun deck, a panoramic space to enjoy in complete privacy. It features a relaxation area with whirlpool tub and free-standing furniture, and can be protected from the sun thanks to a retractable bimini top in the hard top equipped with a skylight. An innovative concept enables a direct connection from the flybridge to the forward zone by means of lateral corridors with additional access from the monkey bridge. This feature makes it possible to have a single large deck of 100 sq m. Two sun pads at the sides of the walkway lead to the foredeck, furnished with a large dinette. At the stern, the patented DMT - Dual Mode Transom system is implemented with the installation of two hatches that conceal the stairs to the cockpit when the ship is cruising, providing an exceptionally clean aesthetic. When the ship is stopped, the stairs pass through the garage door, allowing guests to climb aboard. From the garage, a tender of up to 5.65 meters and a three-person jet ski can be lowered into the water. Consistent with the Custom Line tradition, there is another garage forward, which can be used to store a 3.25 m tender or a jet ski. TECHNOLOGY AND PERFORMANCE Custom Line 120’ installs a pair of MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines that generate 2,638 Mhp, allowing a cruising speed of 21 knots and top speed of 25 knots (preliminary data). An interesting option is the economical cruising speed of 11 knots, with a range of up to 1100 nautical miles (preliminary data). Comfort is also guaranteed when the ship is at anchor, thanks to the standard installation di electro-hydraulic stabilizing fins, offering both underway and zero speed modes. The utmost attention has also been given to acoustic comfort in order to reduce the impact of engines and generators during navigation and at roadstead: Custom Line 120’ features a floating floor and supplementary thermal insulation between the bulkheads and in the ceilings.
