Contests are noted for their wood rub strake and large stainless steel stem fitting. The rub strake covers the deck to hull joint. The deck is formed with about a 1' high section of the topside. This makes the deck very rigid and the deck to hull joint very strong and waterproof.

Ihave a Contest 38S Ketch rig and have owned her since new in 1982. I woned a 25' Contest before that which showed me the quality of these boats. They are very well built, strong and comfortable AND sail very well. Unfortunately I am having to sell her due to MY age, She is just over 30 and still looks young, unlike me!

The 41 is a Dick Zaal design. We want a yacht that is good for offshore cruising on the North Sea. It will only be the two of us. We value stability, smooth movements and safety. Any Contest is excellent boat. If the size and price are right there is nothing to hesitate about the builder. One of the best.
