LIFE SAGA yacht interior
The LIFE SAGA yacht interior was penned by English designer Mark Berryman. His signature is all over the yacht with a timeless and contemporary style.
The owner visualized a cappuccino-themed interior, which inspired the neutral and warm color palette that can be seen today.
LIFE SAGA uses many different types of wood such as oak, walnut, and teak to create a relaxed and cozy atmosphere, while the leather finishes on the walls make for well thought out good contrast.
Some of the furniture was custom-made by the well-known Italian company Belvedere.
LIFE SAGA can accommodate 12 guests on board in six comfortable staterooms, as well as 17 crew members, including the yacht captain, Chris Delves.
The LIFE SAGA yacht offers an outdoor living area, spa pool, sauna, cinema lounge, gym, and a massage area for the owner and his family to enjoy.
The LIFE SAGA yacht features exterior design by Uniellé Yacht Design along with Admiral Yachts. The latter was also responsible for the yacht’s naval architecture.
She has a steel hull and aluminum superstructure plus four decks and a double-height glass right at the center of the vessel.
According to the LIFE SAGA’s captain, the owner wanted the exterior to be a combination of classic and modern forms.

M/Y life saga
Formerly known as: lady christine & blue harem, about life saga.
The 42-metre superyacht Life Saga (formerly Lady Christine and Blue Harem ) is a super-deluxe motor yacht, built in 1994 by the prestigious Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts in Oss. Diaship Design was involved in the formal design of Life Saga , collaborating with Frank Mulder of Azure Naval Architects and naval architect Pastrovich.
Thanks to her loving owner who has spared no expense to keep her in top condition, Life Saga has now had over 25 million euros worth of maintenance and refits. This has left her in such an excellent condition that her calendar age is hard to reveal.
Spread over five luxurious and spacious en-suite cabins, including the owners’ cabin, Life Saga accommodates up to twelve guests. The elegant cabins are all finished in a fresh Pastrovich style and include an opulent master cabin with a luxurious en-suite bathroom, two twin cabins on the main deck, plus two twin cabins located amidships on the lower decks.
Furthermore, she offers space for eight professional crew members, in order to guarantee her guests a 5-star stay on board.
Life Saga was initially built in 1994 with two MTU (12V 396 TE94) engines, each delivering 2040 hp (1501 kW) and was powered by twin screw propellers. At the time, she was also equipped with Dahne bow thrusters and NAIAD Dynamics stabilizers.
Refit 2006 – 2008
In the period 2006-2008, Life Saga has had an extensive refit at our shipyard in Zaandam, supported by Azure Naval Architects and interior design agency Art-line Interiors. During the refit work, all technologies and systems were upgraded to the highest standards.
During the refit , Life Saga was equipped with new engines (twin 8V 4000 M70 diesel), teak decks and a jacuzzi integrated into the superstructure, which is located on the same floor as the bridge deck. In addition, the interior has been partially replaced and modernized, which included the installation of a 13-zone Lantic Premium system. This provides a range of audio and visual entertainment, as well as remote-controlled lighting and curtains for each zone.
On the main deck, the stern has been extensively renovated and the stairs have been replaced to create more deck space. A complete renovation of the lazarette has allowed a wider range of water sports toys to be transported. In addition, a complete outdoor dining area has been created for al fresco dining.
The bridge deck became private property for the owners only and the lounge was enlarged and transformed into a luxurious entertainment space. A gym with lounge chairs and bar facilities was added on the bridge deck. Another major renovation was the extension of the upper deck by four metres, to make it a true sun paradise.
Refit 2011 – 2013
In 2011-2012 Life Saga had another 18-month refit at our shipyard in Zaandam, under the watchful eye of her captain and crew, in preparation for a Baltic summer cruise. In 2013, she received a full paint job.
Life Saga is a superyacht with allure that offers her guests an unforgettable stay while elegantly sailing the world’s seas.

LIFE SAGA Yacht for Charter
With her pedigree Heesen credentials and elegant classic lines, the 138’1” (42.1m) LIFE SAGA offers the perfect combination of comfort and style. Cruising the coastlines of the Mediterranean, LIFE SAGA was launched by the celebrated Dutch shipyard in 1994 but boasts fantastically modern touches thanks to a series of extensive refits and interior rebuilds at the renowned Holland Jachtbouw shipyard in 2008 and 2012. Now boasting impressive deck space and interior volumes normally associated with much larger yachts, LIFE SAGA promises an unforgettable Mediterranean charter vacation with family or a group of friends.
Beautifully finished by Stefano Pastrovich, the interiors on LIFE SAGA are fresh and sophisticated with beautiful light wood paneling and chrome accents further enhanced by a crisp neutral palette and floods of natural light from enormous windows. Perfect for onboard socializing, the main salon features sumptuous curved sofas that invite conversation while sipping aperitifs. The lounge area flows seamlessly to the formal dining area with its curved sofa seating, table for 12, and beautiful bespoke lighting. Pocket doors allow the area to be completely closed for more private occasions or special celebration dinners.
On the upper deck, the skylounge offers yet more space to entertain and socialize with plush sofa seating, a striking bar, and a backgammon table that can also be used for casual dining.
Five spacious staterooms provide relaxing retreats for LIFE SAGA’s 12 guests and include a magnificent main-deck master suite. Spanning LIFE SAGA’s full beam, the master stateroom showcases an indulgent king size bed, sofa seating, walk-in closet and opulent marble clad his and hers en-suite bathroom with large Jacuzzi tub and separate walk-in shower. On the lower deck there are two large double staterooms with queen size beds, and two twin cabins with side-by-side single beds and additional Pullman bunks. All of the cabins boast generous en-suite shower rooms and access to LIFE SAGA’s impressive entertainment system.
Out on deck, there are stylish spots to dine, relax and sunbathe across LIFE SAGA’s three levels. Outside the main salon, the main aft deck is the place for leisurely breakfasts and morning coffee as you plan the day’s adventures at the alfresco dining table. Wide side decks lead to the foredeck where there are sun pads for bronzing while taking in the stunning views of the destinations ahead. Outside the skylounge is a comfy seating area shaded by the sundeck overhang for afternoon cocktails or coffee and petit fours. Across the stern is an exposed sun pad for tanning or midnight star gazing as well as a large Jacuzzi tub for relaxing while enjoying the fresh Mediterranean air.
For the best views on board and dining under the stars, the sundeck has it all. There’s an expansive triple sun pad, a sit up bar and a teak table and chairs shaded by the hardtop. It’s hard to imagine a more perfect spot for spending the day and taking in the 360-degree views.
At sea level, LIFE SAGA’s ample swimming platform makes it easy to access the water as well as her impressive arsenal of toys and tenders for thrills and exploring.
Cruising comfortably at 14 knots, LIFE SAGA is fitted with an ultra-modern stabilization system which reduces roll motion effect for a smoother and more enjoyable cruising experience. An experienced and professional crew of eight provides intuitive service and attention to detail that make a Mediterranean charter vacation on LIFE SAGA an experience to remember for all the right reasons.

Life Saga by Admiral Yachts
Architectural. Unconventional. Tailored. The terms architect Gian Marco Campanino, who penned the exteriors of Life Saga, uses to sum up the latest creation from Admiral Yachts.
Launched just last June, Life Saga is a steel and aluminium 65m with a beam of 10.6. She also caused quite a stir at the 2019 Monaco Yacht Show, thanks to a seductive profile and a layout brimming with novelty both inside and out.
Gian Marco Campanino cites Life Saga’s architecture as an example: “Her flanks have a central scoop that goes from the main deck to the upper deck with large swathes of glazing on both decks”.
The scoop on the main deck incorporates two fold-out balconies which extend the interiors. The glazing actually slides out directly from the sole. This create a sense of continuity between interior and exterior in the most exhilarating and emotive manner.
Another continuity-related aspect that characterises Life Saga’s deck is her main deck. “We named it the Sea Deck with the owner,” continues Campanino. “It is one single environment: from the cockpit to the lounge with the seafront balconies, from the sun pads aft for the bar area, the games room to the lounge, there is what I would call the open-plan arrangement of a modern villa.
An innovative interpretation of the classic succession of spaces separated by doors and other barriers: cockpit, entrance, saloon. In this case there are no barriers to foster a sort of interior-exterior hybridisation”.
A lucky encounter between the yard, which was already researching a series of interlinked spaces, and an owner that wanted to transfer the open layout of one of his support vessels to his new luxury yacht, produced Life Saga.
The owner’s “open” vision also provided plenty of stimulus for the interior design. “At our first meeting, the owner told me to think of the interiors as a cappuccino,” smiles Mark Berryman of Mark Berryman Design. “So I was to put a little more milk in some areas and a little less in others. He also said if a fabric sample felt soft and comfortable when you rubbed it on your cheek, it was good enough for his yacht”.
These quirky instructions yielded a design and a colour and materials palette that span bamboo – albeit once again reinterpreted to suit the owner’s tastes – and leather paired with natural oak, walnut and teak, all brushed and sanded to bring out their grains.
Choices that, as Berryman explains, “were made to give a sense of continuity right throughout the yacht so that guests could flow uninterrupted from one space to the next”.
These underlying themes are flanked too by other clever touches such as crackle effect on the corridor walls and Japanese design references, particularly the circular motif, which symbolises security, and recurs both inside and out.
Berryman also introduced some designer pieces such as the Macassar ebony Fletcher table in the dining area on the upper deck, and the custom tables made, like the rest of the bespoke features, by Celi 1920.
Berryman says the idea was “to create the idea of a home from home”. Alongside, adds Gian Marco Campanino, “an unconventional but not eccentric design which, with its open-plan arrangement and mixing of interiors and exteriors, expresses a function that can be shared by other owners seeking a new way of living the sea by venturing beyond the classic yacht layout”.
