How many people can i bring.

The maximum amount of people we can have on a trip is 6.

CAN I BRING ALCOHOL?

We have a BYOB policy. Drinking is allowed as long as you drink responsibly. Capt. Dan reserves the right to return back to the dock if intoxicated behavior threatens the safety of the passengers. If the Captain makes a judgment call based on alcohol or drug abuse, the patron will not receive a refund for the trip cost.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

If a charter is cancelled by Pensacola Luxury Charters due to weather/unsafe conditions, you will first be rescheduled to another date if available or a gift card will be issued. A guest can cancel up to 7 days before their cruise, after that NO REFUND will be given if a guest cancels. Weather can change quickly in Florida and your safety is our priority. We watch conditions and make the call when appropriate.

WHAT WILL BE PROVIDED?

We will provide soft drinks, water, ice and light snacks. If we are stopping and getting in the water we will provide: floating mat (lilly pad), paddle boards and inflatable water toys.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

Timeliness is important! We value and respect your time and will be ready to depart the dock at the scheduled time. We ask that you arrive at the dock 30 MINS PRIOR to boarding time (for an  information and safety talk). Should guests not arrive to the dock on time, we reserve the right to cancel the trip  without a refund.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW?

- No smoking of any kind on board. - Absolutely no shoes on the vessel (you can leave them at the dock) - Bring sunblock and towels - Come ready to have tons of fun!!

'I'm getting out of here': Destin preps for Hurricane Helene by land and sea

With Hurricane Helene gaining strength and careening toward Florida on Wednesday, folks around Destin were preparing for the upcoming storm. 

Helene is expected to be a Category 4 by the time it lands near Big Bend in Florida, according to the National Hurricane Center's 4 p.m. update. 

On the waterfront

Boat captains were meandering around the docks Wednesday morning, some just checking things out while others were pulling the ropes and heading west. 

“I’m getting out of here,” said Capt. Mike King of the Hiliner, a 30-foot charter boat that docks at Destin Fishing Fleet Marina.

“They missed with Sally,” King said of the weather forecasters. Sally, a Category 2 Hurricane in 2020, pushed a lot of water in the harbor. 

“It’s not worth it. This is what we do for a living, and I can’t fish without a boat,” King said. 

King and Capt. Tyler Allen of the Always Tight headed west toward Pensacola just before lunchtime Wednesday. 

Other boat captains were just kind of “watching and waiting.” 

“I’m just kind of waiting ... nothing to be too concerned about. We’ll see if the cone moves,” said Capt. Matthew Champion of the ChampionShip. Destin and Okaloosa County is just to the west of the cone of uncertainty. 

“If it moves more west, we’ll move,” Champion said. 

Hurricane Helene: A cataclysmic blow that will likely be among Florida's worst | Forecast

But on Wednesday, he was doing boat maintenance, so he’ll be ready if he must move. 

At 4 p.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service reported that Hurricane Helene had sustained winds of 85 mph, moving north at 12 mph. 

The storm could produce surge of up to 20 feet.

Capt. Tommy Carter of the Blue Runner II said he was “absolutely” staying unless it takes a big turn to the west. 

“Technology has improved,” Carter said in predicting the storms. 

Although he has a lot of confidence in the track of the hurricane, Carter said, “I’m not going to go to sleep on it.” 

Preparing for Helene: Okaloosa County School District announces school closures due to Hurricane Helene

Capt. Harold Staples of the charter boat Al-Lin has been through many hurricanes as a charter fisherman for five decades. 

“Hopefully it will stay on the other side of the cape,” Staples said. 

“It’s still too far away to know 100% what that thing will do,” he said. 

Staples recalled Hurricane Elena in 1985 that deviated from the forecast. Elena danced back and forth along the coastline before finally going in at Biloxi, Mississippi as a Category 3. 

“By tomorrow morning ... we’ll make a decision,” Staples said, noting it could mean moving the boat to Pensacola or Orange Beach. 

People around town were taking advantage of the free sandbag giveaway. 

A little after lunch Wednesday, people were backed in with trailers and trucks and filling the bags with sand. 

Phil Smith was getting enough to take care of his rental property as well as his home. 

“Better safe than sorry,” Smith said as he loaded the bags onto his trailer. 

Curtis Barry and Michela Tillis were getting enough sandbags for two or three homes. 

According to Tamara Young, Public Information Director for Destin, at least 3,000 sandbags have been given away. 

Young said they will be giving away sandbags until noon Thursday.

Soaking up the sun and beachcombing the sugar-white sands of Pensacola Beach are perfect ways to relax and enjoy your vacation. But there’s much more of the Gulf Coast to explore and plenty of things to do in Pensacola. If you’re looking to get under the sea and find some great locations to snorkel, Jolly Sailing can take you there!

The best of Pensacola Beach snorkeling can be found in various locations on Pensacola Bay and Santa Rosa Sound. Grass beds harboring marine life, the Igloos, which consist of artificial reef structures in Santa Rosa Sound, a rock ballast pile off the Naval Live Oaks, and Sabine Island, made almost entirely of ballast stones, make for some unique snorkeling spots in the Pensacola area. All of our snorkeling locations are in waist to chest-deep water. We will visit one or two spots depending on conditions, at the Captain’s discretion, accounting for tides and conditions.

For the beginner to the advanced snorkeler, there is plenty to see in the waters of the Pensacola Gulf Coast. While we do not have natural coral reefs as in the Caribbean and the Florida Keys, we do have our own special ecosystem, with a lively diversity of fish and marine life. On our Pensacola Beach snorkel trips, we encounter a variety of species. Instruction by seasoned professionals and the use of clean, professional-quality gear is included in all snorkeling excursions. Snorkeling tours are 2 to 2 1/2 hours long, and may take place by sailboat or powerboat. Longer private combo trips, such as sail and snorkel, snorkel and dolphin cruise, or snorkel, dolphin cruise and beach stop are also available.

*Please note that snorkeling trips are offered seasonally, depending on water conditions and temperature. The typical season is May through October. Basic swimming skills are required. Age 6 and up.
