Darwin Dinah Beach Cruising Yacht Association at Sadgroves Creek Darwin in Northern Territory Australia Dinah Beach Cruising Yacht Association DBCYA is situated on the banks of Sadgroves Creek just 1km from Darwin CBD. The seawall and floating pontoon are a feature of this small Cruising Yacht Association.
Situated close to the Mooring Basin and Sadgroves Quay, overlooking Sadgroves Creek. Docking and fresh water available. The channel dries to 0.5m, pontoon dries to 1.5m. At times up to 55 Prawn Trailers are docked here after returning from the prawn Season. For these few weeks you tend to go straight to the trawlers to buy fresh seafood. They usually have a sign on the dock in front of the boats selling seafood.
Frances Bay in Port Darwin, and includes the western bank of Sadgroves Creek. On the left is a photo of the 2 shops/markets that sell seafood direct to the public. When the Prawn trailers are not in the duckpond w the local tend to vist these 2 shops for all their seafood. Back at the front of the road down about 100 meters towards the Wharf there is a renowned seafood cafe. Great fish and chip's in a airconditioned cafe enviroment.

Back around the corner on the road to the Stokes hill Wharf is the Restaruant called 'The Jetty'.
In the carpark you see the sign on the left starting this section of the Coastal Marine Park in the shores of Sadgroves Creek in Frances Bay.

Located just 1km from the Darwin CBD just off Tiger Brennan Drive, the club offers a range of practical DIY facilities for cruising yacht people and a relaxed social clubhouse and atmosphere for locals and visitors, right on the edge of the inner Darwin Harbour. DBCYA is one of the last old-Darwin style venues, with an open air undercover setting, live music every Wed, Fri and Sun plus a range of special events. You won't find any gambling facilities at Dinah, just a great location for quality connection with mates and family over tasty hot food and super cold drinks. Our humble playground will keep the kiddies entertained. The Galley is open 7 days for dinner serving sumptuous local-caught seafood and Aussie favourites

One of the biggest nights of the week, an excellent way to catch up with friends when the weekend is still days away. There is lots going on, including:
- Members Lucky Badge Draw – starts at $500 and increases $50 each week until won. Can get to double and even triple draw (max $1000)
- Raffle draws ($2 a ticket or 3 for $5 – cash prizes).
- A great range of local and touring live music from 7:00pm – 10:00pm

Annual Favourites and Special Events
Viking Funeral – Mid year mischievous mayhem! The famous ‘Burning of the Boat’, ‘Most Likely Viking’ competition (adults and kids), a big band, pig on a spit served late plus lots of other entertainment. A great family night out.
Pirate Party
- Activities : Costume competitions, piratey mischief, and live music
- Entry : Free! But bring your dubloons because there will be hearty tucker, raffles, and pirate drink specials.
So, don your finest pirate attire, grab your cutlass, and join the crew for a night of fun and celebration! Arrr!
St Patricks Day – Celebrate St Patrick’s Day in the best style with live Irish music and dancing.
New Years Eve Party – quality live music, great company, cheap prices and a casual atmosphere. Open day, licence till 2am, free entry.
Presentation Night for the Wet Season Series – held in April each year (2016 – 02 April). The Club hosts a fun evening of prizes, presentations and highlights of the wet season race series and all those who took part get to come along and join in the fun.
Plus many other pop-up events including quiz nites, fundraisers, live music events and much more – see the Event Calendar for details.
Every Sunday after sailing races in the Wet Season Series – Watch the replay of the race on the big screen whilst the entrants re-live the excitement on the water.
Note we have no gambling facilities whatsoever and only occasionally show selected major sporting events (free to air) on the TV.

An active yacht racing calendar operates year round in Darwin. The Dry Season Series is conducted by the Darwin Sailing Club, and comprises and offshore and inshore series during May - October. The Wet Season Series is a harbour series conducted by the Dinah Beach Cruising Yacht Association from November - April.
Sailing Crew Membership: $50 annual membership Social Membership: $30 annual membership Visiting Membership: Honorary membership is available to visiting yachtspersons for a period of up to 28 days - free if a current member of another yacht club (outside of Darwin), otherwise a one-off $20 amenities fee per person is applicable.
