The principality of Monaco has a calendar that’s filled with major events. While the financial benefits of this little tax haven ensure its population remains fairly well stocked with super-rich and socialites year-round, it’s these events that truly bring the masses. April calls for the tennis at The Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters; in May it’s time for the Formula One Grand Prix ; June brings the world-famous car show Top Marques ; and summer draws to a close with perhaps the most glam of the bunch, the Monaco Yacht Show, which this year falls on September 25 – 28.

For those interested in gazing upon some of the finest yachts that can be found anywhere in the world, Monaco ’s Port Hercules is a pretty good spot year-round, but for the weekend of the Monaco Yacht Show, things enter a different league.

The Monaco Yacht Show is essentially a gathering of the global superyacht community. From owners to innovators, manufacturers and brokers, all head to the principality. Each year, builders and brokers present around 120 superyachts and 60 luxury tenders , with many of these reflecting current industry trends and revealing the potential future direction of the industry. These vessels boast an average length of around 160 ft, with a sprinkling of superyachts that top the 320 ft mark – with this year’s headliner clocking in at 400 ft.

Aside from the yachts themselves, visitors can expect countless designers improving yacht interiors and engineers working to ensure the industry becomes more sustainable. There’s sure to be a lot going on.

So ahead of this year’s event, Elite Traveler has looked into which yachts will be on display at Port Hercules and curated a list of some of the show’s unmissable vessels. So blow the dust off your Panama hat and add a few zeros to your credit card limit, because these are some of the biggest, boldest and most expensive boats attending the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show.

The undisputed biggest headline of this year’s show – in every sense of the word – Lürssen’s Kismet will be the largest yacht to go on display in Port Hercules. While the previous title holder was another from Lürssen, the 377.6-ft Ahpo, the Kismet takes its victory by a considerable mile, clocking in at 400 ft. Previously known as Project Jag, the Kisamet was handed over to owner Shahid Khan in May 2024, making it one of the show’s newest deliveries, too.

With exterior design by Nuvolari Lenard and naval architecture by Lürssen Yachts along with Reymond Langton Design working on the yacht’s interiors , Kismet is decked out with a helipad, beauty salon, indoor and outdoor cinema, dance floor and gym. Perhaps unsurprising, but all this makes Kisamet one of the most expensive yachts to charter , too, asking for €3m (approx. $3.4m) per week with Cecil Wright & Partners.

Delivered in 2019 by SilverYachts and refitted in 2024, the almost 280-ft, self-described ‘sports activity vessel’ Bold takes center stage at Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Designers Espen Øino created the superyacht’s striking, military-inspired exterior, creating a unique glass-enclosed loft on the upper deck that covers over 3,200 sq-ft of interior space. Meanwhile, Vain Interiors has created an opulent, New York-style loft, which is built to accommodate up to 12 overnight guests in eight luxurious staterooms and can carry up to 96 passengers while cruising.

With a a huge selection of water toys, a vast outdoor entertaining area with a bar and Teppanyaki grill, a cinema, an eight-person hot tub and a lounge surrounding a firepit, it’s no surprise that the Bold is a popular charter yacht, with Holl Robinson asking €875,000 ($972, 800) per week.

Following an extensive, three-year rebuild, the most expensive superyacht on the market has returned to Port Hercules for 2024, complete with a new look – and price tag, too, asking for €295m ($328m). The 344.5-ft Oceanco H3 superyacht has already picked up a handful of international awards for the new look and is expected to impress many fans at Monaco Yacht Show 2024.

In addition to the extra 10 meters that were added to the H3 ’s hull, the rebuild – from the likes of Reymond Langton Design, which worked on both the exterior and interior redesign, and the collaboration between Lateral Naval Architects and Oceanco on its naval architecture – also saw a pool deck, huge spa and wellness area and climate-controlled winter garden added to H3 ’s numerous amenities.

With its distinctive, shark-like exterior design, the 295-ft superyacht DAR will be hard not to miss at Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Built by Oceanco with exteriors designed by Luiz de Basto Design, the glossy black silhouette was inspired by the look of the hammerhead shark, with sinuous lines, wide set wing stations and a mast modeled after a dorsal fin.

Meanwhile, renowned Italy-based studio Nuvolari & Lenard has crafted swooping, contemporary interiors. DAR’s impressive features include a complete owner’s deck, complete with a private salon and jacuzzi, a wellness area, an impressive beach club, and two helipads for private use. Offering grandeur and complete privacy in equal doses, DAR can accommodate up to 14 guests in overnight accommodation, with separate living quarters to host as many as 31 crew members.

Despite only hitting the waters in June this year, the first wallywind110, Galma , is set to make its global debut at Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Measuring almost 110 ft, Galma ’s naval architecture comes from German studio judel/vrolijk & co while interior and exterior lines are designed by Wally in collaboration with Santa Maria Magnolfi. With a design that offers the comfort of a cruising yacht while maintaining the performance of a racing boat, Galma is characterized by the 22.6-ft telescopic keel and an all-carbon hull that has been painted in light metallic blue.

Other highlights of Galma include an 860-sq-ft full-beam cockpit with seating and dining for up to 15 people, as well as an open-plan raised saloon. Galma can accommodate up to eight guests overnight, with five crew members.

The largest yachts to have ever attended the Monaco Yacht Show

The Monaco Yacht Show is the most highly anticipated event of the Mediterranean season. But this year has generated even more excitement than usual, with a series of impressive milestones reached. The biggest superyacht in the show's history – the 123.2-metre Golden Odyssey – will be in attendance, alongside the largest number of 100-metre-plus yachts overall with the arrival of the 122-metre Kismet , the 111.9-metre Renaissance and 105.3-metre H3 .

To honour this record-breaking edition, BOAT looks back at the Monaco Yacht Show's largest attendees...

Golden Odyssey

Which show.

A last-minute entry, Golden Odyssey has edged out Kismet as the largest yacht to have ever attended the Monaco Yacht Show. She was delivered by Lürssen to Prince Khalid of Saudi Arabia as a replacement for an 80-metre Blohm+Voss of the same name (now Grand Ocean ). Her exterior is the work of Martin Francis while her "calm and sophisticated" interiors are by the late Alberto Pinto . Key numbers include an 18.8-metre beam, a range of 9,000 nautical miles and an impressive volume of 7,690GT.

Interior imagery has been undisclosed for nearly a decade, but Golden Odyssey is known to have a private owner's deck with two master suites, a spa and wellness area, a private terrace with dining, lounging spaces and a Jacuzzi pool. Other highlights include a 42,000-litre swimming pool and accommodation for 30 guests and 70 crew.

Following close behind Golden Odyssey is another mighty Lürssen , the recently-delivered Kismet . An immense volume of 4,918GT houses a mosaic-line pool with a 40-tonne capacity, two spa pools, a certified helipad, fireplaces inside and out, a full-service spa, a lift and a gym. To say nothing of her intricate paint and marble detailing or the stainless-steel jaguar bow figure. It's no wonder Pascale Reymond, co-founder of Reymond Langton studio, has billed her a "cathedral of design".

Kismet also represents a first for the German shipyard with her underwater lounge and cinema, featuring extra-large windows (1.1 metres by 2.8 metres) that dip under the waterline. She is one of the world's most expensive yachts for charter , asking €3,000,000 per week with Cecil Wright .

Another Lürssen, Ahpo was named after a term of endearment meaning grandmother. And her design certainly centres around the family, including two identical bedrooms with different colour schemes, designed for the original owner's twin girls. Wellness is another major focus, with a nature-themed spa, massage room, beauty salon and private owner's gym outfitted in red-lacquer furniture and custom dumbbells.

Other highlights include a mosaic bathroom modelled after the work of Gustav Klimt, a 12-seat cinema and an aft deck winter garden. There are quarters for up to 53 crew, including two helicopter pilots.

Renaissance

Renaissance was built by Spanish yard Freire and created by the legendary Jon Bannenberg , though for 40 years the design never left the drawing board. The owners turned to his son at Bannenberg & Rowell Design when it came time to build it and provided a long list of non-negotiables, including a large gym, high ceilings, lots of places to eat and a very large beach club. The brief was certainly fulfilled with a double-height formal dining room, a sushi bar and a deck entirely dedicated to wellness, including the aforementioned gym, a sauna, a ballet bar and a dedicated hair and beauty salon.

Accommodation is across 19 cabins, including an owner's deck with a 60-square-metre suite, a media room and a lounge with bar and dining. A private terrace with sunloungers and a Jacuzzi for six can be found forward.

Alaiya (then Tis ) was styled inside and out by British studio  Winch Design  and was commissioned by a long-time (read: seven year) charter client of Moran Yacht & Ship . The superyacht houses two helicopter pads, a 12-metre swimming pool, a private owner's deck and a "resort-inspired" spa across her 4,699GT interiors. Her tender garage can also accommodate two 13-metre tenders and a variety of water toys.

Accommodation is for 18 guests across nine cabins, with further quarters for 38 crew. Alaiya was sold following her appearance at the show and then underwent an extensive, seven-month refit with Blohm & Voss .

Kaos (then Jubilee ) is one of the most recognisable yachts on the water with a long, lean, metallic blue exterior by Igor Lobanov . The Oceanco looks surprisingly lithe for her immense size, attributed to the clever troupe l'oil effect design that gives the appearance of additional decks and so conceals her actual height. Interior details have been kept largely under wraps but at the time of her delivery, it was said that Kaos had the most marble and stone outfitted within the interior than any other superyacht.

The yacht is also known for her swimming pool, positioned on the largest of the four decks and peering into an aquarium in the beach club below. She was one of the most travelled superyachts of 2023 thanks to a mammoth transatlantic passage that began in St Barths for the New Year's celebrations and ended in the River Thames, London.

A Benetti creation, IJE is the flagship of the Italian shipyard's fleet and a full-custom project to boot. British studio RWD is responsible for the exterior and interior design, which is meant to capture "the soul of an explorer" in a polished superyacht package.

As a result, IJE was kitted out with three large tenders, eight Jet Skis, comfortable guest and crew cabins for long stints in remote areas, as well as an owner's deck, a nightclub, a cinema, a gym and a beach club. She is also reportedly equipped with the largest single-point lift crane installed on a yacht. The superyacht edges out previous flagships Luminosity and Lana by only a few centimetres.

Amadea took just 31 months to complete from the first steel cutting, which was quite the feat for a vessel of her size. Exterior design is by Espen Øino International , while interiors were styled by Francois Zuretti . Her highlights include a 4D cinema with popcorn machine, a hand-painted Pleyel piano and a spa pool and sunpad set up that can convert into a live stage with built-in speakers, stage lights and laser beams. The owner’s cabin also has a private terrace complete with a mosaic-lined pool.

The superyacht was arrested in May 2022 after her UBO (ultimate beneficiary owner) was allegedly sanctioned following the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

She may not have the (literal) edge over Kismet this year, but H3 is a record-breaker in her own right as the current world's most expensive yacht for sale . The superyacht is asking an eye-watering €295,000,000 with Edmiston and earns the bill, outfitted with a piano previously owned by Elton John – the one on which he wrote the album Songs from the West Coast – a large pool with a waterfall feature, a huge spa and wellness area with a nail salon and a climate-controlled winter garden in the owner's suite.

Her three-year rebuild, beginning in 2020, won her international acclaim and a World Superyacht Award . Virtually nothing was left from her previous life as Indian Empress except the hull, which had also been extended a further 10 metres. BOAT International was provided an exclusive look inside her rebuild last year.

Superyacht PROJECT MONTE CARLO: Heesen unveil their brand new 62m yacht project

The Monaco Yacht Show has been the launch pad for many superyacht projects, and 62m PROJECT MONTE CARLO is no exception. Named after the principality’s main district, the project is the latest addition to Heesen ’s Steel Fast Displacement Hull Form series featuring exterior design from Harrison Eidsgaard and naval architecture from Van Oossanen Naval Architecture.

Superyacht PROJECT MONTE-CARLO

Superyacht PROJECT MONTE-CARLO

She is one of the shipyard’s most ambitious projects to date and will be a four-deck superyacht with a dedicated owner’s deck and a layout catering to owner’s who wish to spend extended periods travelling and working on board.

Design Peder Eidesgaard commented, “It is a very open master suite, with the bathtub, shower and office all interconnected,” he said. “The benefit of this arrangement is that an incoming owner can easily toy with the space devoted to each area. The potential is huge; you expand the master suite to include a private foredeck with its own sundeck, jacuzzi and a fold-down balcony to starboard. From his/her office, the owner can walk straight out onto the balcony and take a seat.”

The yacht has been designed to allow owners and guests the opportunity to feel connected to their surroundings and includes a huge beach terrace with 23sqm glass sided pool, fold out wings and superbly comfortable furnishings. Other highlights include a ‘beach lounge’ with sliding doors to the exterior, an observation terrace on the top deck plus an aft deck with firepit, outdoor kitchen and a semi-open sly lounge seating area with pop-up TV.

Wellness has been given priority in the beach club on the lower deck where guests can enjoy the use of a full gym, sauna, hammam and treatment room plus the crew can prepare healthy drinks at the cool juice bar.

Aft deck lounge

Heesen is committed to a more sustainable future and in line with their BlueNautech strategy, the yacht has serial hybrid propulsion and a large battery bank. Future conversion to hydrogen combustion or fuel cells is also possible with a methanol-ready tank. The yacht will have a range of 4,500 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots and a top speed of 16 knots.

“We see that our owners are increasingly interested in minimising their environmental impact,” said Peter Van Der Zanden, Heesen’s General Manager for Design & Development. “By planning the yacht around tried-and-tested green solutions, we are helping them make good decisions that don’t add much time and cost to the build.”

We look forward to keeping you up to date with superyacht PROJECT MONTE-CARLO  as the project progresses.

Monaco Yacht Show begins with ‘largest ever’ yacht on display

Wednesday, September 25th, 2024

Written by: Marine Industry News

The 33rd edition of the Monaco Yacht Show kicks off today. The four-day superyacht extravaganza, set to run from 25-28 September 2024, will feature around 120 superyachts and over 50 luxury tenders from prominent builders and brokers, with an average yacht length of 50 metres.

Since its inception in 1991, the Monaco Yacht Show has become a key event in the annual yachting industry calendar. Held every September, it features Europe’s largest in-water display of superyachts at Port Hercule.

More than 27,000 visitors are expected to descend on the quays to explore the latest nautical technologies and services from over 500 exhibitors.

Organiser Informa has revealed a significant lineup of superyachts from leading shipyards for this year’s show. The largest yacht on display — announced just a day before the show began — will be the 123.2m Golden Odyssey , commissioned by Prince Khalid of Saudi Arabia and built by German yacht builder Lürssen. The yacht, which was penned by Martin Francis, with interiors by Alberto Pinto, features a private owner’s deck with two master suites, plus a spa and wellness area. Golden Odyssey is now the largest yacht to have ever attended the Monaco Yacht Show .

Golden Odyssey superyacht

The second largest yacht this year is Kismet , a 122-metre behemoth also built by Lürssen and presented by broker Cecil Wright & Partners. Kismet left the yard in May 2024, and can accommodate up to 12 guests in eight cabins. Its amenities include a spa with Balinese-inspired elements.

The 111.9m Freire-built Renaissance — the largest private yacht built in Spain — is only the second superyacht built by the yard, which specialises in commercial projects. The yacht has one deck devoted to the owner and includes a gym with equipment that would “amaze an elite athlete” according to Burgess.

Other highlights for yacht spotters at the show include the 90-metre Dar , built by Oceanco. The “shark-inspired yacht” features specially designed glazing that covers 73 per cent of the superstructure to boost privacy for guests.

Rounding out the top five largest yachts on display is Bold , built by Australia’s Silver Yachts in 2019, which underwent a renovation earlier this year. The 85.3-metre all-aluminium explorer has a striking military-inspired exterior by Espen Øino and offers a top speed of 23 knots and a nearly 5,000 nautical-mile range.

Other projects on show include the first renders of Cockwells Modern & Classic Boatbuilding’s new 9.8-metre limousine tender, designed exclusively for an international client. Optima Yachts will also showcase its e10 prototype . The British electric boatbuilder says the e10 features an efficient, low-resistance hull design that supports all-day cruising under battery power. It offers a range of 150 nautical miles and combines luxury and design with a focus on sustainability.

Sanlorenzo and its brand Bluegame are presenting two models this week in Monaco. Sanlorenzo’s 50Steel , the world’s first superyacht with a Green Methanol Reformer Fuel Cell system, aims for zero-emission power for onboard hotel systems without storing hydrogen. Designed by Zuccon International Project with interiors by Piero Lissoni, the 50Steel spans five decks, offering expansive guest accommodation and innovative design, including two pools and varying ceiling heights.

Bluegame’s BGM75, which recently won Robb Report’s Best of the Best 2024 award for innovation, marks the brand’s move into the multihull market. Despite its narrower beam, the BGM75 offers generous living spaces, including a full-beam main suite, a large beach club, and a flybridge with 360-degree views. Sanlorenzo says both yachts highlight its commitment to style and sustainability.

In recent years, the Monaco Yacht Show show has broadened its focus to include a wider range of ultra-luxury markets, showcasing innovations in yachting technology as well as luxury automotive, helicopter, and private jet manufacturers. Despite this expansion, superyachts remain the central focus.

An increasing number of brands and exhibitors at the show are putting focus on environmental technology and efforts to improve sustainability in the industry.

The 2024 Monaco Yacht Show will once again feature the Sustainability Hub, held in partnership with Water Revolution Foundation, an exhibition space dedicated to eco-innovations. This year, the hub will showcase a variety of technologies designed to transform yachting practices and encourage a more environmentally conscious approach within the industry.

This trend of increased environmental accountability is also reflected in the return of the Yacht Design & Innovation Hub , first launched in 2021. Sixteen designers, including Argo Navis, Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design, Cor D. Rover Design, Espen Oeino International, and Philippe Briand, will showcase yacht projects centred on sustainability.

Design and Innovation Hub Monaco Yacht Show

The hub will spotlight the latest advancements in yacht construction, with a focus on engineering, energy-efficient technologies, and sustainable practices. Other participants include De Basto Design, Frers Design, Hoek Design, Hydro Tec, Lateral Naval Architects, Mulder Design, Studio Merki Jr, Studio Pastrovich, Van Oossanen Naval Architects, Victory Design, and Werner Yacht Design.

Van Berge Henegouwen (VBH) will offer a 3D immersive experience, providing insights into superyacht design innovations through interactive high-definition displays. Meanwhile, a series of roundtable discussions will address the industry’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint.

Ahead of the show, several events took place, including the Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous from September 22 to 23, and Marine Money’s Monaco Superyacht Finance Forum, held yesterday.

Monaco Yacht Show

Every September since the year that Bryan Adams charted with “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You,” yachting enthusiasts, buyers, charterers, yacht builders, and brokers have descended on the principality of Monaco for the annual Monaco Yacht Show . And this September, of course, is no different. Running September 26 through 29, show organizers expect 120 custom superyachts from builders, owners, and charter brokers around the globe to moor at the docks of Port Hercules. In addition, 40 of these yachts will be making their worldwide debut. The average length of participating yachts is 160 feet, but this year there will be seven superyachts between 230 and 328 feet in length. And four of them will be making their world debuts. In addition, watersports lovers can view and sometimes try out the 40 different tenders and toys on display. For those into automobiles, 10 luxury models will be exhibited at the show’s Car Deck. And we mustn’t overlook the two helicopters scheduled to appear. Overall, 580 companies participate in the annual show.

VIP visitors may participate in two invite-only events held the evening of September 25: the Monaco Yacht Summit—mini-lectures and discussions with a panel of yachting-industry experts to explore the practical questions of future yacht charterers or buyers—and the Inaugural Gala Event and 5th Monaco Yacht Show Superyacht Awards, where 400 guests celebrate the most spectacular yachts at the show.

Last year’s Monaco Yacht Show saw 36,400 people roaming the tents, halls, and docks. And usually, His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco takes a (highly secured) stroll through the event, as well.

Oceanco Dar

The 295-foot Oceanco Dar promises to be one of the most impressive debuts at Monaco, not only for its scale but also for the stunning profile, which is reminiscent of a smaller, sportier motor yacht. Dar ’s interior by Nuvolari-Lenard is just as stylish, with six large, contemporary staterooms for 12 guests, including a palatial master suite. The yacht has quarters for 31 crew. Dar also has the amenities one would expect on a gigayacht, including a spacious beach club, elevator, spa, swimming pool, sauna, and helipad. The Dutch yard, known for its technical prowess, has fitted the yacht with the latest technology, including state-of-the-art zero-speed stabilizers.

Pride Mega Yachts Illusion Plus

By Danielle Cutler

Pride Mega Yachts recently launched the 290-foot, six-deck gigayacht   Illusion Plus . The interior design is by Netherlands-based Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design. London’s Rainsford Mann Design crafted the exterior, and Netherlands-based Azure Yacht Design performed the naval architecture. The interior fit-out was done by Dubai’s Greenline Yacht Interiors. It’s rare to find such an internationally respected group of names attached to a single build.

Combined with its nearly 300-foot length,  Illusion Plus ’s 50-foot beam makes the yacht palatial. One of the yacht’s most noteworthy features is the 860-square-foot owner’s apartment situated on its own deck. In addition to the apartment, the yacht has two VIPs, two double guest cabins, one twin, and two staterooms for the owner’s staff on the deck below. In total, the yacht accommodates 12 guests. Fifteen cabins house 25 crew members on the lower deck.

Illusion Plus  features four interior saloons and two dining rooms. Two Jacuzzis (including a huge main-deck hot tub with waterfall), three custom guest tenders, and a four-deck elevator all add to the yacht’s allure. A double-height atrium links the saloon on the main deck with the lounge on the deck. The tranquil spa offers a steam room, massage area, and sauna. The main deck has the gym and beauty salon.

Illusion Plus is propelled by a diesel-electric propulsion system with Azipull thruster pods that Pride developed with Rolls-Royce, making Illusion Plus  ultra-efficient and quiet. The yacht still offers up a speedy 17-knot maximum speed, 15-knot cruising speed, and 5,000 nautical mile range.

Turquoise Yachts Go

Turquoise Yachts launched its flagship  Go  earlier this year. London-based H2 Yacht Design gave the 253-foot superyacht a long, sleek hull, a bulbous bow, and geometric rudders to minimize drag while the yacht is running and to deliver good fuel economy. You can’t miss the yacht’s turquoise-blue hull.

Other noteworthy features include a large entrance area that meets a central elevator running from the garage to the sundeck. The yacht can accommodate up to 18 passengers, with two VIP suites, six guest staterooms, and an owners’ full-beam stateroom with a private lounge area and hot tub on their own private deck.  Go  also provides housing for 20 crew members.

Go ’s amidships garage carries a 31-foot limo tender and a 26-foot general-use tender in addition to multiple water toys. The garage’s location gave more space to the 1,744-square-foot aft beach club. Plus, the yacht’s two rear side panels fold down, giving guests instant access to the water on three sides.  Go ’s sundeck also features a large outdoor space and a 16-foot swimming pool. The foredeck is home to the helipad.

By Geri Ward

Tankoa ’s new 236-foot superyacht  Solo , designed by Francesco Paszkowski, features a large winter garden, a large aft deck with a 20-foot transversal pool, an upper deck with a large saloon with incredible views, and glass bulwarks for unobstructed water views from the saloon and staterooms.

Margherita Casprini designed the warm and contemporary interior, with details such as Fendi Casa tables. Solo  offers up six staterooms for 12 guests, including a VIP suite, four double cabins, and a master suite on the owner’s deck. The private deck features fold-out terraces, direct access to the helipad, and a private exterior deck with a hot tub, bar, saloon, breakfast nook, and bathroom with shower. The owner’s study and the beach club’s massage room can transform into two more cabins; both have en suite bathrooms.

The beach-club area includes a glass-walled gym and foldout terrace, sauna (with its own foldout terrace), hammam, bathroom, bar, and TV. The side-loading tender garage houses two 24-foot tenders, personal watercraft, and a rescue boat.

Two 3516 Caterpillar engines give Solo a top speed of 17 knots. At 12.5 knots, the yacht has a range of more than 6,000 nm.

Amels Volpini 2

The 188-foot  Volpini 2 —the first Limited Editions superyacht using Dutch shipyard  Amels ’s first hybrid power configuration—is the first new yacht to be Tier III compliant under new emissions standards put in place by the International Maritime Organization. Volpini 2 features exterior design by Tim Heywood and interiors created by UK firm Reymond Langton.

The yacht accommodates a total of 12 guests in an owner’s suite with a 130-square-foot folding balcony and six guest suites, including a private VIP on the bridge deck.  Volpini 2 also houses 12 crew and a captain. Guests will enjoy the water-level beach club with wellness center. A central staircase and an elevator join the decks.

Volpini 2  has a top speed of 15.5 knots and a range of 4,500 nautical miles at 13 knots.

Mangusta El Leon

Mangusta ’s flagship El Leon was launched in May. Designed by Alberto Mancini, the 178-foot superyacht is the first of its long-anticipated, fast-displacement GranSport aluminum line.

Mancini gave El Leon a long, sleek, and straight profile, with banks of windows providing sunlight to the saloon, master suite, and guest staterooms. A bulbous bow provides efficiency at displacement speeds and a solid maximum speed of 30 knots, provided by four 16V MTU 2000 diesel engines. The yacht has a range of 3,500 miles at optimal cruising speed.

Thanks to rotating doors, the stern transforms into a huge beach club with terraces. Up on the flybridge, a central bar serves both the open aft deck and a shaded area for alfresco dining.

Heesen Irisha

Heesen Irisha  Dick Holthuis

Heesen Irisha

The 167-foot all-aluminum Irisha from Dutch shipyard Heesen sports a stunning profile by Harrison Eidsgaard that was imagined to resemble a fighter jet with an unconventional color scheme. The designers combined a Snow White top with a Midnight Blue main deck, finishing with a metallic Pacific Blue hull. In changing sunlight,  Irisha ’s hull transforms from blue to a dark, olive-green. Concealed LED strips trace the lines of its profile at night, flooding the yacht’s glass surfaces with bright light.

The interior is a bit less dramatic but still beautiful with beige, gray, and blue. Special lighting was developed to draw a guest’s eye to the architectural and design elements in each room by creating different atmospheres, all with the touch of a button. Irisha was also designed to be a spacious, elegant gathering place. The main deck has a formal reception area for large groups, with a protected, aft-deck winter garden connecting to the main interior saloon. The 30-foot-long saloon has an “imperial” dining table that seats from 14 to 22 guests. In contrast with the social areas, the owner’s suite forward is a haven, with its own study, balcony with sliding glass doors, and his-and-her walk-in dressing rooms. Custom artwork defines the master suite and is laced across the yacht, including the main atrium with the yacht’s primary staircase.

Benetti Seven

Lucky number Seven boasts the longest fiberglass hull and aluminum superstructure that Italian yacht builder Benetti has ever launched. The 165-foot custom design has an impressive interior by London-based Bannenberg & Rowell Design, with an owner’s apartment on the main deck and four generous staterooms, totaling 3,330 square feet, on the lower deck. Benetti says that the upper deck can be converted into a VIP stateroom . Seven was built to be exceptionally quiet and vibration-free, something the guests on the lower deck will appreciate. The lower transom houses a beach club that overlooks the ocean. The twin Caterpillar C32 Acert engines produce a top speed of 15.5 knots. At 11 knots, Seven has a range of 4,000 nautical miles.

Wider 165 Cecilia

Cecilia , the new Wider 165, has features that the Italian builder pioneered, including a massive master suite with balconies, hybrid propulsion, and unusually large interior spaces. The Wider Beach is probably the yard’s most notable achievement. A Wider 32 is the yacht’s tender and fits into a specially designed garage. When the boat is launched directly into the ocean, the area fills and turns into a saltwater swimming pool. The Fulvio De Simoni design includes abundant exterior spaces and full-height windows. Cecilia has five staterooms for 10 guests, with quarters for nine crew members.

Ada Yacht Works All About U

The 164-foot custom sloop-rigged motor sailer All About U from Turkey-based Ada Yacht Works launched this last summer. Now the company’s flagship, the sailing yacht accommodates 12 guests in a full-beam master suite, full-beam VIP stateroom, and four double staterooms, plus four crew cabins. An open-plan saloon, dining room, and wheelhouse provide endless views. A 700-square-foot flybridge deck means plenty of room for plenty of guests, and a folding transom that transforms into a 280-foot beach club gets everyone into the water. The All About U sports a top speed of 15 knots, thanks to two Caterpillar engines.

CRN Latona superyacht Monaco Yacht Show

CRN Latona.  Photo: Federico Ferretti

Delivered in May by Italian yachtbuilder CRN , 164-foot Latona (formerly Project Superconero) makes its world premiere at the Monaco Yacht Show. Zuccon International Project and  CRN ’s engineers collaborated with the owner’s team to create a yacht that carries a glimmer of CRN’s past, the project adopting the name of CRN’s 75-foot SuperConero series of the 1960s and ’70s. That yacht, fairly small now, was an important project at the time because it was built in steel. The SuperConero design also had an iconic shape featuring an unusually long transom deck and sharp forefoot.

Latona inherited SuperConero cues such as a sharp entry and an extended transom deck, but modern features include a large social area on the foredeck, a terrace that folds out from the saloon, and a large beach club off the tender garage. Latona ’s flooding floating tender garage and beach club create a large waterside lounge area. The cockpit on the main deck, a level above, has a separate swimming pool and large area for socializing.

Boasting four decks and an underdeck, Latona ’s interior was created in the Liberty style, the Central European genre from the 1920s. The owner chose the sinuous dark-brown embroidery found across all decks. Depending on the area of the yacht, the pattern travels along both marble and carpeted floors as well as on the curved handrail of the internal staircase, contrasting nicely with the light-wood paneling on the walls. Full-height windows in the saloon and master suite provide incredible views of the water and welcome natural light. Latona accommodates 10 guests in five staterooms: the master, two VIPs, and two double cabins, plus housing for nine crew members.

Damen Yachts Power Play

Damen ’s new 182-foot  Power Play  support vessel does more than carry tenders, toys, and extra supplies. It’s kind of like a hybrid between a standard shadow boat and a primary superyacht, featuring a main-deck saloon, three large staterooms, and a rear deck for guests.

The sixth of  Damen ’s YS-5009 series,  Power Play  was made for adventure. It can be used for long-distance trips as a standalone yacht or as a support vessel for extra crew, supplies, or security. Damen made sure Power Play could operate in zero-discharge zones like marine sanctuaries.  Power Play features a 13-ton deck crane for launching large equipment such as personal submarines. Designed like a support vessel for running in rough seas, it sports a 20-knot maximum speed.

Rossinavi Flying Dagger

Rossinavi has built some of the world’s most interesting custom yachts in the world. Its recent launch, the 161-foot Flying Dagger , is no exception. Enrico Gobbi’s Team for Design penned both the interior and exterior. The jaunty superstructure, sloped windscreen, and extended foredeck is mated to a straight-line hull, with large windows on both sides. The boat has three 2,600 hp MTU engines that are linked to three KaMeWa water jets. That will give the yacht a top end of 27 knots and a cruise speed of 23 knots. At a leisurely 12 knots, Flying Dagger has a 3,300-mile range.

Baglietto 48M T-Line

Baglietto ’s new 157-foot superyacht, the 48M T-Line, can rightly claim to be the yard’s first in-house design since the new executive team took over the iconic brand three years ago.  Baglietto , which built its first boat in 1854, is clearly moving into the next chapter of its long history with this new design.

Francesco Paszkowski has shaped  Baglietto  for nearly a decade, giving the yacht line its signature look, and he was commissioned to do the exterior for the 48 T-Line. Baglietto’s design team crafted the interior, using Italian walnut as the base wood and combining it with gold and bronze accents, light carpet, and cream-colored leathers. As a contrast to the dark joinery and tables, the team used a light-colored Canaletto-nut-pattern wood floor in the saloon and staterooms. The paneling on the walls features irregular cuts of inlaid wood to give it a modern feel without detracting from the yacht’s elegance. Floor-to-ceiling windows bathe the saloon and skylounge with natural light.

An unusually large beach club, more than 500 square feet, is devoted to a steam room, bar, and an area that could be used as a gym, spa, or some sort of quiet retreat center—not to mention the actual beach club that provides easy water access and a nice reprieve to enjoy the view.

Paszkowski’s exterior also includes social areas on the foredeck, flybridge, and aft cockpit—the sundeck alone has 1,400 square feet of open space.

Powered by twin Caterpillar diesel engines, the 48M T-Line has a 16-knot maximum speed and a cruising speed of 12 knots.

Mangusta Oceano 46 Q95

Mangusta ’s new tri-deck, 151-foot Q95 is a fresh departure for the Italian builder. The new steel-hulled model not only shows parent-company Overmarine’s commitment to the long-range displacement segment, but the Oceano 46 was also designed by a dream team comprised of two of Italy’s most celebrated designers. Stefano Righini’s exterior gives Q95 its contemporary look, a trait demanded by Mangusta owners, but Righini made sure to include large spaces that make the yacht a pleasure to cruise on over long distances. Those spaces include a swimming pool on the foredeck, a skydeck that invites relaxation and exceptional views of the water, and a rear cockpit on the main deck for alfresco dining. The interior by Alberto Mancini includes light-wood paneling on the walls, backlit stonework, and details like a dark-framed painting of tigers overlooking the formal dining table. The master suite has three skylights as well as a foldout balcony. The yacht’s staterooms can accommodate 12 guests.

Custom Line Navetta 42 yacht

Custom Line Navetta 42.  Photo: Courtesy of Custom Line

Custom Line Navetta 42

Back in the day—as recently as just five years ago—the naveta-style boat was the closest thing the Italians made to an American trawler, with a seaworthy displacement hull, a no-frills interior, and not much in the way of exterior social space. It was the type of vessel on which roughing it was considered a virtue and modern conveniences like, say, a Jacuzzi were for wimps.

Over the last three years, the designers of Ferretti’s  Custom Line  broke the naveta concept into small pieces and redesigned it for the modern superyacht world. The company’s reinterpretation means the naveta is no longer Italy’s equivalent of a slow boat to China, but a handsome, comfortable, and efficient design that is attracting owners of other types of motor yachts.

The 138-foot yacht is the largest semi-displacement hull that Custom Line has built, with a top-end speed of 22 knots and a transatlantic range of 3,000 nautical miles at its friendly cruise speed.

But that’s just the start. The 42 has a huge social island on the exterior foredeck with a settee, table, and four-person sunbed. On the flybridge is a small Jacuzzi forward, loungers, and a helm station under the hardtop as well as an open area at the stern with space for loose furniture—perfect for savoring the view. The cockpit just below has a similar layout, with an outside dining table for eight. The lower area of the stern features a tender garage with a new launch-and-retrieval system and transom space for a beach club.

The interior is also ultramodern. The main deck has a long saloon that includes sofas at the rear and a formal dining area forward, plus a full-beam master suite with a patio on one side and a desk along the other bulkhead. On the lower deck, four double guest suites, all with large windows, are equal in size and positioned for maximum room to move around the double bed. An owner can also opt for a five-stateroom layout.

Conrad C133 Viatoris

Arguably the hottest studio in superyacht design, UK-based Reymond Langton was behind the contemporary but elegant look of the new  Viatoris , the 133-footer from Conrad shipyard. The designers did away with the usual stacked wedding-cake look and instead introduced curves to the rear of the upper decks that lend an air of individuality to its blue-and-white profile while also providing an exceptional view for the owners and guests. Besides the unusually ornate interior, the 133 differs from other yachts in its class with the four balconies that open outward on the main deck (two in the master suite and two in the aft saloon) that give an open-air feel to these areas. The owner uses  Viatoris  as a home on the water rather than a weekend retreat, which explains the full-beam master suite, generous social spaces on the bridge and sundecks, and custom interior.

Princess Bandazul

The semi-custom 131-foot Bandazul by Princess Yachts has a number of custom modifications from the UK builder’s in-house design team. The owner opted for a combination of light stone, soft fabrics, and glossed wenge joinery. The yacht’s extended saloon joins an open sundeck. The seating on the foredeck is also expansive with a table and seats, and there’s another large area in the cockpit. The owner wanted four larger suites, rather than the traditional five-stateroom layout, so there’s a large VIP stateroom belowdecks. Bandazul is powered by twin 1,920 hp MTU diesels for a maximum speed of 22 knots.

The fully custom 131-foot Stella di Mare from CBI Navi is a long-range expedition yacht designed by Sergio Cutolo of HydroTec. The exterior design has multiple social spaces, including a flybridge with 915 square feet of open deck, a large upper foredeck, and a main-deck cockpit measuring 800 square feet. The interior by Fossati Design Bureau includes an expansive saloon with a formal dining area as well as five staterooms, with the owner’s suite situated on the main deck. The yacht is powered by twin 1,000 hp Caterpillar C32 diesels, which delivers a maximum speed of 14 knots. Stella di Mare has a range of 6,900 nautical miles at 10.5 knots.

Sunseeker 131 Zozo

Sunseeker 131 Zozo  Photo: Mike Jones

Sunseeker 131 Zozo

The first in Sunseeker’s new 131 Yacht line, Zozo launched last year. The beauty about the 131-foot tri-deck Sunseeker model is that no two will look alike. Sunseeker’s customization service not only personalizes the interior decor but also the internal configurations. The standard layout is for 10 guests in five cabins, though an owner can choose to increase or decrease the number of staterooms.

Building on the success of the Sunseeker 130, the 131 features improvements such as an extended skydeck and upper aft deck, allowing for a larger bar and more seating, as well as a hot tub on the skydeck. A deck below, the flydeck features a dining table for 10 that adjoins the upper saloon. On the main deck, the open-plan saloon has a large social area with sofas and a formal dining table. And the palatial main-deck master includes a large bedroom, separate desk and lounge areas, and a full-beam bathroom forward, with his-and-her sinks, a shower, a toilet/bidet, and even a bathtub.

The garage accommodates a 20-foot tender and two jet skis. Zozo hits a top speed of 25 knots— fast for a superyacht—and cruises at 10 knots to provide a 1,500-mile range.

Carinthia VII underway after a significant refit

Growing up in the 1980’s as a rabid-teen-age-green-wearing Boston Celtics fan, I really loathed when Magic Johnson would smile, look into the camera and say, ”It’s SHOWTIME!” in interviews during the NBA Finals against my beloved Celtics.

But even back then, I had to admit he was right. In fact, I knew something special was going to happen every time the pre-game announcers hyped up the Lakers special brand of “Showtime” during those epic battles. The anticipation was glorious!

The anticipation for the start of the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show is high

And now that I’ve seen the preliminary list of some of the yachts that will be headlining the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show next week, I’m feeling a similar type of anticipation for the “Superyacht Showtime” that attracts many of the world’s largest superyachts and many of the world’s most wealthy people to the Monaco Yacht Show every year.

In fact, I have a feeling that year’s Monaco Yacht Show is going to be epic, so here’s an insiders preview of some of the largest yachts that will be there. Because it’s almost…“Showtime!”

Heli ops aboard Carinthia VII

For me, the queen of the show might just be 318-foot-long Carinthia VII that was designed by Tim Heywood and built by Lürssen in 2002. I say this because Carinthia VII has been widely regarded as one of the world’s first true megayachts.

This year, Fraser and Lürssen are keen to show off the results of her extensive refit. The work includes redesigned exterior decks with new lounge and living areas and a new, 39-foot-long pool and fitness room.

The main saloon aboard Carinthia VII

“I am very proud that after building Carinthia VII , we have now been able to participate in her new lease on life with an extensive refit,” says Lürssen Managing Partner Peter Lürssen. “She remains a very particular vessel and is a testament to the solidity of our German engineering and manufacture.”

And in other related news, the charter managers at Fraser are happy to report Carinthia VII is also newly available for charter for the first time in her 21-year history.

The spa aboard Carinthia VII

“When speaking with clients after their charters, it is fascinating to listen to which aspects of their experience resonate with them. For most it is the crew, the food, the toys and the locations that always ate highly,” says Mark Duncan, Fraser Director of Business Development & Marketing.

The Beach Club

“For some though, it is very much about the yacht itself – the layouts, design, space, features and ambiance. We suspect Carinthia VII is going to be as much a part of those after-charter dinner conversations as the unforgettable moments we know she is going to help create for those who decide to book something exceptional.”

Phoenix 2 underway

When it comes to memorable superyachts, Phoenix 2 will always stand out simply because she’s nearly 300 feet long. And I know I’m not the only one who thinks her distinctive interior and exterior that exudes art deco opulence is the absolute definition of superyacht luxury.

Phoenix 2's distinctive art deco interior was designed by Winch Design

Designed by Winch Design and built by Lürssen in 2010, she’s also known for voluminous interior and exterior spaces across several decks for relaxing or entertaining.

Dining for 12 aboard Phoenix 2

Meanwhile, with accommodations that include: a beauty salon, movie theatre, spa, elevator, beach club and gym, she has everything you’d expect a superyacht of this caliber to have. Phoenix 2 is currently being listed for sale with Cecil Wright and Burgess . And oh yes, she can be yours for a just north of $130 million.

Savannah was launched by Feadship in 2015

With her distinctive bow, clean lines, and elegant profile, I’ve always admired the looks of the 274-foot-long Savannah . But since she was also built by Feadship with a pioneering electro-mechanical propulsion platform that was created to reduce fuel consumption by 30 percent, in 2015! I’ve always been impressed with how she was designed to be “sustainable” way before “sustainability” became such as sought after trait. In fact, she’s credited with being the first hybrid superyacht.

And of course, Savannah also features four massive decks where guests can relax in well-designed spaces that move from the inside out. While the interior, designed by CG Design is elegantly modern that showcase video walls, a significant art collection and massive windows that offer breathtaking views.

Bilgin Yachts's Leona underway

With its distinctive red and white exterior design, Leona, the 263-foot-long Bilgin Yacht that was built in Turkey and features naval architecture and exterior design by Antalya, Turkey-based Unique Yacht Design and H2 Yacht Design for the interior living areas.

“Leona is different in many ways to her sistership Tatiana,” says Jonny Horsfield of H2 Yacht Design. “Although the general layout is essentially identical and the yachts offer accommodation for up to 10 guests, Leona has more emphasis on space with cabin numbers being reduced in order to provide larger accommodation. On the main deck, Tatiana’s four guest cabin-layout has been replaced with two generous VIP cabins with his and her dressing rooms and bathrooms, while on the lower deck there are two cabins instead of three and this layout creates space for additional storage, a larger area for a movie theater, a gym and a sauna.”

The pool is cool aboard the Billgin 236

The owner’s deck sees the biggest change with the superstructure extending aft providing a palatial owner’s suite. Not to mention that a private lounge area is on the forward deck with an access to the owner’s exterior pool. Emrecan Özgün, the founder of Unique Yacht Design, finds this part of the yacht especially sexy and sleek and he describes it as following: “In terms of exterior lines I really love the front deck because it reminds of a real bullet when seen from above.”

Kenosho underway

The 246-foot-long, award-winning Kenshō was built by Admiral Yachts of the Italian Sea Group to maximize life on the water. And it does that using asymmetry, integrated outside living areas and spaces in unexpected places.

Kenshō’s interior spaces, connected by a central elevator and feature staircase are designed to feel even more spacious with lofty ceiling heights, large windows, and exceptionally wide walkways which connect the different living areas.

The swim deck features a glass-fronted, sea-level swimming pool, and plenty of space to dive into the water from the swim platform, or simply sprawl out on one of the sofas. The sun deck, crowned by a unique skylight on the top and offering a glass-fronted Jacuzzi and island bar, has forward and aft zones that are connected by one of the yacht’s characteristic wide walkways.

And the living room takes its inspiration from a ship’s wheelhouse with floor to ceiling glass offering spectacular panoramas forward.

Stay tuned for more from Monaco.

Yacht AL SAID

Monaco yacht show 2021

Icon Yachts has announced at the show which design firm has been selected to pen the interior of the 70-meter Project 'Master' conversion project. Winch Design has been tapped to bring to life the interiors of this vessel. Back at the 2021 MYS Icon Yachts announced they were undertaking this conversion and by 2022 the offshore support vessel arrived in The Netherlands for her conversion. Icon are no strangers to these conversions as they most notably converted 68.2-meter yacht "Ragnar" completing that in 2020. Espen Oeino is also part of the project which will see it being extended to reach its final 70-meter LOA.

The original interiors have been ripped-out already giving way to the future Winch interiors. Those interiors will be earthy, neutral but sophisticated which is typical of this Studio. Here is a look at one of the salon schemes. One with a homely aesthetic inviting you to utilize the space and not view it as an impractical statement room. Large modern full-height glazing will be installed on the sides allowing great views out and improving the natural lighting into the social space.

Onboard she will carry 12 guests in 6 cabins. The master suite will be 140 square meters making it comfortably the largest suite onboard. The master bath will also be particularly large with large free-standing tub and floor-mounted fixture. The bathroom too will be benefitting from oversized floor-to-veiling glazing. The main deck will actually be home to the guest suites with a pair of VIP-level cabins and three twin-category rooms. Crew of 19 will be on the lower deck in the hull.

Another announcement at the show was from Feadship showcasing their yearly new design/concept. This year it is called Concept C, an electric fuel-cell superyacht. Envisioned to be 75-meters in length the concept's length was chosen to help commemorate the builders 75th Diamond Anniversary. The name C refers to the chemical element Carbon which is the basis for forming diamonds. The design and interiors reflect qualities a refined diamond presents. "There’s nothing rough about this diamond in Feadship’s concept collection", says Feadship. "As with all Feadship concept yachts, C is completely researched and buildable."

Although a concept, the yacht is designed to be built. In-line contra-rotating propellers are to be installed helping make her theoretically 30% more efficient than a 75-meter with conventional shaft and rudder arrangement. This in-line idea is an evolution from the Breathe concept first proposed in 2010. A similar system was installed on Feadship "Savannah" launched in 2015 and has proven itself over thousands of open ocean miles. This highly efficient system of a centerline propeller and an azimuthing thruster behind allowed De Voogt’s naval architects to fashion a hull shape with an optimized, upswept after body for less turbulence and a quieter wake. Both the centerline propeller and thruster are electric and draw power from an efficient DC electrical grid supplied entirely by fuel cells directly running on methanol produced from renewable source.

Onboard there is a 6 cabin layout. The primary stateroom with adjoining bath and dressing room and sitting room with internal private stairs to owner’s office on main deck below are imagined. Five double guest staterooms with en suites of which two can be combined to become a full-beam VIP. The Captain has their own captain’s cabin, six officers in three double cabins, twelve crew in six double cabins on lower deck plus captain’s office, ship’s office, navigation room and virtual command center.

Heesen did hint at a new design a few weeks ago that they said they would announce at the MYS and as expected that announcement was made. It the the 62-meter 'Monte Carlo' project. The exterior is by Harrison Eidsgaard with Van Oosanen on the Naval Architecture. The internal volume has been estimated at 1,340 GT helped by her impressive 11.5-meter beam. Accommodation would be for as many as 14 in 6 cabins. The guest suites are located between the main and lower decks are are comprised of a mix of guest doubles and VIP-category suites. The owner has an upper deck enclave to themselves. Twin MTU engines will run her to 16-knots while giving a 4,500 nautical mile range at cruising speeds. Hybrid propulsion has been factored with space devoted to large battery banks along with tank space for fuel-cell conversion in the future.

Some of her amenities include a glassed 23 square-meter pool on the transom. Fold down bulwarks are also available to provide an even more expanded stern region. There isn't the traditional beach club that you would expect on a 62-meter but it takes the open-air beach club idea from the smaller 40 to 50-meter vessels and incorporates in cascading fashion down to the swim platform. However, there still are gym, sauna, juice bar and hammam facilities available. A jacuzzi is on the fore deck forward of the owner's residence.

plus gros yacht monaco

While not an announcement the brand new Columbus Superyacht "Anjelif" is on display. The 50-meter is a hybrid yacht using a pair of 100kW electric motors that can run the vessel to a speed of 9-knots but her main engine package are twin 1,939kW MTUs capable of 20-knot speeds. Dialed back to 12-knots the yacht can make 3,000 nautical miles.

plus gros yacht monaco

On the interior you will find a warm and soothing palette which uses materials like Canaletto Walnut , Oak , muted rose gold and Oyster -shell finish on a dining table. At 50-meters she keeps her internal volume right below the 500 GT threshold coming in at 499. Four double cabins are for the guests and are located on the lower deck and the owner has a full-beam master suite on the main deck. 11 crew are accommodated across 7 cabins.

Special features onboard include a Hammam, Sauna, a pool on the aft main deck, touch-and-go helipad/open-air cinema. Copious sun lounging and relaxing spaces on the fore deck, sun deck and aft deck areas. The owner has a fixed balcony which has become almost a rare feature. More recently balconies either slide out or fold down requiring crew to operate sometimes. The transom also features fold down wings and a transformer giving versatility to the space.

Royal Huisman's world's largest sportfish "Special One" is at the Monaco Yacht Show but to showcase its sustainable HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) capabilities. "We applied our most radical naval architecture ever on this hull, resulting in dramatic lower resistance and, consequently, reduced fuel consumption," said Bart Bouwhuis, Vripack's co-creative director. "However we were also very aware that no matter what, the twin V20 MAN 4500kW drive train – which propels this yacht to over 32-knots – and her twin Zenoro 180 kW generators will always burn a substantial amount of fuel. We knew of this 'new fuel' and started our research."

A new yacht brand has made its appearance at the 2024 MYS. It is called GX Superyachts and will be building a wide range of aluminium-based superyachts from 24 to 56-meters -the first of which is a 42-meter called GX42 RPH is already under construction, starting build on July 1, 2024-. "Each yacht in our GX Superyacht range is equipped with our innovative hybrid propulsion system, allowing for both efficient electric cruising and powerful diesel performance when needed," explained Chief Commercial Officer, Luca Raumland. "At 6-knots in electric mode, these yachts can achieve an incredible range of up to 100 nautical miles. In diesel mode, they can cross the Atlantic at 12-knots, while the max range is 11571 nautical miles at 6-knots. For more information: Monaco Yacht Show 7 Rue Suffren Reymond, 98000 Monaco ***

Monaco has a rich and varied culture heavily influenced by its neighbors, France and Italy. Many of the principality’s residents are ex-pats, with a significant portion from France, Italy, the UK, Belgium, and Switzerland. Only around one in five residents are of Monegasque descent. This vibrant mix of residents creates a rich tapestry of cultures.

Monaco’s official language is French; however, English is widely spoken. You’ll also hear Monaco’s traditional language, ‘Munegascu,’ or ‘Monegasque’ a language which has its roots in Genoese. The Principality is governed by Prince Albert II, the hereditary ruler who ascended to the throne following his father’s death in 2005.
