History of Arcoa

Arcoa, the esteemed French boat manufacturer, began its illustrious journey in 1954 in Les Sables-d'Olonne, a town known for its maritime traditions. Founded by Constant Menu, an innovative visionary with a profound love for the sea, Arcoa aimed to create high-quality and aesthetically pleasing watercraft. The boats rapidly gained recognition for their robust construction, distinctive designs, and the use of advanced technologies, setting them apart from other boats in the market.

The initial years of operation saw Arcoa focusing on building small wooden fishing boats, prioritising quality and craftsmanship. But as they adjusted to the changing demands in the boating industry through the years, they shifted towards constructing Pleasure Crafts. These boats had an edgy, stylish design whilst maintaining the original tenets of the brand: durability, reliability, and optimal performance.

Currently, Arcoa is no longer based in Les Sables-d'Olonne but has moved its operations to Vannes, a city in Brittany, France. The company, under the management of Sébastien Ruchet since 2006, is continuously setting new standards in the boating industry often imbued with an aura of luxury and elegance. Despite the continuous innovation and growth, Arcoa remains faithful to its defining principles ensuring every craftsman involved in their production line upholds the same exemplary standards that were first set in 1954.

French shipyard Arcoa Yachts was founded by the family Couach is a hereditary yacht builders in 1947. Arcoa Yachts became one of the first European shipyards, advocate the concept of pleasure boats. And in the 1950-1960-ies, when Europe re-used to the beautiful life, the shipyard has gained an excellent reputation. Primarily as a manufacturer of quality cruising yachts and runabouts, open boats for your boat trips. In 1967, Arcoa Yachts came into possession of a new group of investors. Was expanded lineup, replaced wood as the material of the housings, came the more modern fiberglass. Today, the production capacity of the shipyard are located in the city of Lorient .
