Kerry McReynolds Appeared in Season 1 of 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' — Where Is She Now?

Loyal viewers of Below Deck Sailing Yacht are bound to remember Kerry McReynolds , a retail sales manager who boarded the Parsifal III as a primary charter guest alongside some of her closest friends, like Dino Cresci and Mark Nitsche, in Season 1.

Kerry immediately garnered popularity thanks to her infectious optimism and daring spirit. The stage IV cancer patient had proven to everybody that no matter how tough the going gets, it's always possible to have fun.

Kerry McReynolds appeared in Season 1 of 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht.'

Kerry was first diagnosed with breast cancer aged 43. She had one breast removed, a GoFundMe page states. For a while, it seemed that the treatment was successful.

Things took a turn for the worse three years after Kerry received the initial breast cancer diagnosis, according to the GoFundMe page. By that point, the cancer spread to her liver. By the time she appeared on Below Deck Sailing Yacht , she was fighting stage IV cancer.

Kerry refused to let the condition get in her way. As loyal viewers of Below Deck Sailing Yacht will remember, she was determined to make her life as rich as possible.

Her warrior mentality and carefree spirit deeply resonated with the crew of Parsifal III and viewers alike, many of whom were vocal about their admiration for Kerry.

"It's astonishing to me that Kerry has got cancer. She is still such a positive and vibrant person," a deckhand named Chris Miller explained in a confessional. "I have always been a positive guy and this is just a reminder that no matter how s--tty your life can be there are always things to be happy about."

"Considering Kerry's health condition her attitude is so positive. That takes so much strength," chief stew Jenna MacGillivray said. "I've had personal experience with my dad dying of cancer and I will bust my a-- to make sure that this is the best trip of her life."

During her time on the yacht, Kerry also tried the hot dog floats, showcased her impeccable diving techniques, and enjoyed other treats — like watching a shirtless Paget Berry serve a cake.

What happened to Kerry since the filming of 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' wrapped up?

The creators of Below Deck Sailing Yacht shared a health update in 2020.

As they revealed, Kerry continued to fight against cancer after the filming of Season 1 wrapped, likely in 2019.

"[Kerry is] still hanging in there," the producers told The Daily Dish . "It's hard going through cancer treatments and abiding by the extra precautions needed during the pandemic."

The producers' announcement marked one of the last times Kerry's fight against cancer was addressed in a public capacity. Some websites published an obituary in March 2021. But that appears to be false. A new video featuring Kerry and friends was posted by an Instagram user named @nellcoterevival (Kerry and Sheila) on Sunday, June 13, 2021.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht charter guest Kerry McReynolds: Producers share update on her cancer battle

Kerry McReynolds was a charter guest with cancer on Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

Kerry McReynolds is one of the most memorable charter guests this season on Below Deck Sailing Yacht because of her cancer battle and positive life perspectives.

Bravo producers recently gave fans an update on Kerry , who viewers know was battling Stage 4 cancer. Kerry spent the trip embracing everything that life had to offer.

How is Kerry doing today?

The Bravo show was filmed months ago. Producers gave fans an update on Kerry’s cancer battle during an enhanced version of her episode this week.

Kerry is still hanging in there. The coronavirus pandemic has added another challenger for her. Having to receive cancer treatments and abide by the extra precautions during the current health climate is not easy to navigate.

Based on an update on a GoFundMe page for Kerry promoting her appearance on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Kerry is hoping to start an experimental trial soon.

She has not officially been accepted, but her odds look good.

Kerry’s memorable charter

Several charter guests have left an impression on the inaugural season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht. The Long Island bros and the ladies posing naked on the beach are the first to come to mind.

However, fans remember those two groups for different reasons than Kerry. She is being praised for her positive outlook as she battled cancer.

Fans would never have known Kerry’s struggle if it hadn’t been revealed in Captain Glenn Shephard’s preference sheet meeting.

It was the guest’s mission to honor and celebrate Kerry’s life on the trip, so the crew pulled out all the stops to make sure Kerry and her friends had the best yachting experience.

The guests enjoyed riding around on a hot dog float, watching the crew do a pajama fashion, and had Paget Berry deliver a birthday in nothing but his undies.

Chief stew Jenna MacGillivray felt a special connection to Kerry because of her later. The two had a heartfelt chat that left Jenna in awe of the guest.

Fans may not like Jenna, but she did go out of her way to make the trip extra special.

The impact Kerry McReynolds left on the Below Deck Sailing Yacht cast was evident by the tears in some of their eyes as the group disembarked the yacht.

She will go down as one of the most inspirational guests to appear on any installment of the hit Bravo franchise.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.

Who Is Captain Kerry Titheradge Below Deck Season 11 Star

Who Is Captain Kerry Titheradge? Meet New ‘Below Deck’ Skipper Replacing Captain Lee

Octomom Nadya Suleman Children

After 10 seasons with Captain Lee Rosbach at the helm, Below Deck enters season 11 with a brand-new skipper. Fans want to know more about Captain Kerry Titheradge and how he’s going to shake up the show.

Has Captain Kerry Been Featured on a ‘Below Deck’ Show Before?

The Australia native was at the helm for 2022’s Below Deck Adventure , the franchise’s first cold-weather yachting show. The action went down in Norway as charter guests got to participate in the region’s extreme sports, including rock climbing and parasailing.

Why Did Captain Kerry Take Over ‘Below Deck’ From Captain Lee?

Bravo has never explained why the longtime skipper was replaced for season 11 . He missed the majority of season 10 after having to leave the superyacht St. David and return to Florida for surgery due to back and nerve issues. Captain Sandy Yawn from Below Deck Mediterranean helmed the boat and dealt with the crew during Lee’s absence.

Fan-favorite Lee claimed he was replaced by Bravo , telling The Sun Sentinel in April 2023, “I did not quit. I did not retire. I was just not invited back.”

Below Deck Down Under's Captain Jason Left 'Out' Season 3 Talks

What Can Viewers Expect From Captain Kerry?

In the first few minutes of season 11’s opening episode, Kerry said he was “born for this life” of captaining yachts and “growing up in the Australian Outback I had to be tough.” Kerry has more than 20 years of experience in the yachting industry.

“You wanna know a little secret? Part of being a captain is driving the boat. The hard part is the crew,” he added in the clip obtained by Entertainment Weekly .

Kerry showed he’s willing to eliminate problematic crew members by getting rid of deckhand Kyle Dickard during Below Deck Adventure after he threatened a fellow crew member and showed inappropriate advances towards another. But in a gentler move, Kerry gave Kyle the option of resigning before getting fired.

What Have Captain Kerry’s Crew Said About Their Skipper?

Deckhand Ben Willoughby , who worked with both Captain Lee and Captain Sandy during season 10 of Below Deck , told E! News , “You either sink or swim with Captain Kerry. And rightly so, he’s come onto a 190-foot yacht, which is huge. He doesn’t know any of the crew, he’s gotta get through six weeks of charter and I don’t blame him now for being as stern as he was. I would have probably been even more sterner if my license was on the line.”

“He’s very stern,” the deckie continued, “very much a captain who says ‘if you mess up, that’s strike one.’ Whereas if you got Captain Sandy, she’s very much like a motherly figure, kind of comforting, wants you to learn and nurture. And Captain Lee is just very much ‘all right, you messed, up do better.'”

As for how viewers may perceive Kerry, “Some people may have to get a little bit used to that, but once you get into the rhythm of it I think you guys are really going to appreciate the different level of professionalism that he brings to the table with his crew,” Ben added.

Is Captain Kerry Married?

Kerry and ex-wife Jennifer divorced in 2020. The former couple share two children.

The yachtsman spoke about his girlfriend, Ghönül Bihan , during Below Deck Adventure . She worked as chief stew under Kerry while he was married and they didn’t get along at the time.

“I’ve been dating my girlfriend, Gönül for a little over a year,” he explained. “She’s from Turkey. We worked together quite a few years ago. She was the chief stew. She actually quit after a few months because she didn’t like the way I ran a boat.”

“A few years later, after I got divorced, we reconnected,” he continued. “Eventually, she opened up. She’s helped me become a better person. And that’s pretty special.”

Below Deck Season 11: How Captain Kerry Isn’t Afraid To Lay down the Law

When Bravo announced that Captain Kerry Titheradge would be taking over the helm on Below Deck from Captain Lee Rosbach , fans weren’t convinced he would lay down the law. However, the newest captain has done great and hasn’t even needed to use inspirational quotes to do so. But as Season 11 keeps on swimming right along, fans are starting to see a whole new side of the Australian native, and he knows how to run a tight ship.

Captain Kerry is a breath of fresh air in his own way. He shows genuine concern for the crew’s mental and physical health, has a very hands-on approach to teaching, and is unmeasured in his ability to empathize with and relate to his crew on personal matters. Fans have enjoyed watching his management style, and he is becoming quite the legend. It helps that Captain Kerry has years of experience and is level-headed in tight situations. But the captain knows who is in charge, as fans learned during his causal retelling of how he had to duct tape a charter guest who was misbehaving.

Captain Kerry’s leadership style

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Kristi Hardy (@kristibhardy)

Until the newest episode, Captain Kerry has been a pretty laid-back leader, in my opinion. He hasn’t micromanaged, and he hasn’t been riding the heads of departments either. The captain struck me as the type of leader who wanted to be a source of comfort for his crew. More than once, he had expressed support for the crew when they were feeling down. He also gives some pretty solid advice. Instead of acting on emotions, Captain Kerry takes a minute and thinks about what is best for the boat.

For example, when Fraser Olender wanted to fire Barbie Pascual because they butted heads, the captain wouldn’t allow it. Barbie is a hard worker who does her job well. He essentially asked Fraser to be better and work through his issues. He rarely interjects himself into the crew’s mess, but he will make his presence known when he feels the need.

Captain Kerry is in charge

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Tiffany Guckin (@foodswithfinn)

In the newest episode, fans saw a whole new side to Captain Kerry—and he was unhappy. The crew has not been taking their jobs very seriously, and the skipper has had enough. Captain Kerry pulled out a power move as he decided to hold cabin inspections on the very last charter. The captain had become extremely frustrated when he noticed that both the exterior and interior were chinning off their responsibilities.

Trying to stay positive, Captain Kerry notes, “This is the last charter, so let’s make this the best one ever.” But the reminder did little to stir the crew. What then happened was a Below Deck first, as Kerry told the crew, “We don’t eat when the guest area is not sorted out. Schoolboy errors are unacceptable.” The leader of the St. David then tells the crew, “At six o’clock tonight, cabin inspections.”

Viewers will see Captain Kerry lose his patience as he enters a very messy cabin, saying, “What the hell is going on in here? It’s a huge slap in the face. Blatant disrespect. It’s f*cking beyond words.”

Captain Kerry has weathered storms

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Alex P. Taylor (@alexptaylor1)

During Season 11, Captain Kerry dealt with some pretty interesting scenarios. Sadly, he has had to fire Jared Woodin and Anthony Iracane . Both couldn’t get a handle on their respective jobs, and they were essentially bringing the boat and tips down. Fans also saw Captain Kerry navigating Cat Baugh’s departure due to her mental health.

Captain Kerry has never minced his words. When he first revealed he had been given the job, he captioned a social media photo by writing, “I expect perfection. If you work hard, you will be rewarded. You f*ck around, and I will f*cking turn in a heartbeat.” I think the captain reached a record high when it came to firings this season.

One thing is for sure- we don’t want to anger the captain. Or it might be down to Davy Jones’ locker for us.

TELL US – DO YOU THINK CAPTAIN KERRY WAS RIGHT TO HAVE A CABIN INSPECTION ON THE LAST CHARTER?

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Exes Daisy Kelliher and Gary King Have Explosive Reunion in Season 5 Trailer

Below deck sailing yacht 's daisy kelliher confronts "pr--k" gary king following their failed boatmance in e news' exclusive first look at season five. plus, meet the new yachties..

Below Deck Sailing Yacht 's new season will be anything but smooth sailing.

That's because returning costars Daisy Kelliher and Gary King are anything but friendly after their failed boatmance in E! News' exclusive first look at the Bravo series' fifth season.

Following Daisy, Gary and BDSY alum Colin MacRae 's messy love triangle , Daisy is still reeling from the complicated and dramatic fallout from last season.

"Going into this season, I got rid of some dead weight," the newly single Chief Stew says in the trailer. "The breakup did a number on me last year. I felt very broken. But now, I'm coming back in more focused, full of energy and I'm f--king good at my job. And I'm taking back the reigns."

Despite her initial confidence about returning to the Parsifal III , Daisy adds, "It's gonna be a s--t show."

Cut to the Ireland native yelling at Gary, "Guess what? We have a f--king job to do and I'm not f--king carrying this season on my own, you f--king pr--k!"

But luckily for Daisy, the preview teases her quickly moving on with new Deckhand Keith Allen , who tells Gary, "Daisy would make a very good wife. No?"

As for Gary's response, he bursts out laughing at the crewmember's declaration.

However, Daisy feels the same about Keith and tells him, "You're the kind of person I've never met before."

And when it comes to this season's charter guests, the yachties have too much of a good time with one group on shore.

After a night out, Captain Glenn Shephard warns the team, "You guys went out with some guests, I set some ground rules. Two drinks maximum. You knew the rules, you broke the f--king rules, and now you're here getting upset."

Check out the trailer above for a preview of all the drama to come. And keep reading to meet new yachties Chef Cloyce Martin , Chief Engineer Davide Morosi , Stews Diana Cruz and Danni Warren and Deckhand Emma Crouch .

Below Deck Sailing Yacht premieres Monday, Oct. 7, at 9 p.m.   on Bravo. Episodes will be available to stream next day on Peacock.

Captain Glenn Shephard

Capt. Glenn and his expert crew set sail on Parsifal III to the luxury party capital of the world, Ibiza. While Ibiza is known for its sunny day parties and crystal-clear coast, it’s stormy waters ahead for the crew as they navigate blossoming boatmances, competitive co-workers and tense personal dynamics, all while trying to raise the bar every charter.

Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher

After a distracting love triangle last season that took her focus away from work, Daisy is ready to take the reins back in the interior department with a new sense of energy and determination. However, plans for a stress-free charter season are threatened when her stews question her leadership.

First Mate Gary King

On deck, Gary attempts to keep his team motivated as one crew member struggles to learn the ropes.

Captain Kerry Titheradge knew he was stepping into a "massive hole" when he got the call to helm  Below Deck , the flagship series in Bravo's most-watched franchise, taking over for Captain Lee Rosbach , who's been at the helm (pun intended) of the show since its premiere in 2013.

"Lee has been the backbone of Below Deck for 10 years," Kerry, who served as captain on the spinoff Below Deck: Adventure , remarks to ET over video chat, promoting the new episodes alongside season 11's returning chief stew, Fraser Olender .

"I've known Lee since before Below Deck , we used to play golf together, and before I took on Adventure , I called Lee up and I asked him, I said, 'Mate, would you do this again if you could redo this?'" Kerry recalls. "He said, 'Absolutely, mate...' and his best piece of advice is just, be yourself and that is what I did."

Kerry says he touched base with Lee before officially taking his place on Below Deck , getting the fan-favorite's blessing. While no official word has been given for the shake-up , it seems the health struggles that forced Lee to take a leave of absence in season 10 may be a factor. Lee's made it known it wasn't his call to step aside, but he remains in the NBCUniversal fold with Bravo's  Couch Talk , co-starring one-time  Below Deck  chief stew Kate Chastain , and as the host of Oxygen's new true-crime series,  Deadly Waters .

"I came to St. David, the biggest yacht in Below Deck history, the third captain of a franchise to drive the boat, with an amazing chief stew and we just rocked it," Kerry boasts.

Fraser has the unique honor of serving under four captains, the most of anyone else in franchise history; in addition to Lee and Kerry, he's worked with Captain Sean Meagher, who briefly stepped in for Lee on season 9, and Captain Sandy Yawn , the  Mediterranean  mainstay who took over for Lee amid those health complications in season 10.

"Each and every one of those [captains] lets you grow and become a better stew, or better crew member in general, because of it," Fraser says. "So, I'm very pleased to have been with all of them. You know, I did have a bit of a head-bump with Captain Sandy, but we're all good. We're pals now, and Lee taught me a lot, but equally, I wouldn't be where I was today without having filmed such a successful season with Captain Kerry. So, I'm grateful for all of their input for sure."

"I want to keep my job," he quips, acknowledging his very political answer.

Kerry offers praise right back to Fraser. As for the rest of the crew fans will meet as the season unfolds, it's not exactly smooth sailing. In the premiere, Kerry notes that the most difficult part of his job is not driving the boat; it's navigating the personalities on board.

"We have some people that are just, generally, very difficult," Fraser teases, sharing that at least one team member comes close to season 10's Camille Lamb. Sandy fired Camille midseason due to poor performance and her arguably erratic behavior.

"I think my crew cried every day," Fraser reveals. "Someone did every day, at least twice a day, for six weeks."

"Xandi is a phenomenal stewardess, and I don't know where I'd be without her," he shares, previewing this year's stews. "Cat is adorable and tries her best, and Barbie is lovely... but a problem child."

There is one more familiar face working aboard St. David this season; Ben Willoughby returns as lead deckhand, and a bit of a pain in Fraser's side.

"We do butt heads," Fraser admits. "He loves to get involved with my girls on the interior, and I'm here to work, and I'm here to have a successful charter season ... and maybe, put your flirty pants at the door until the end of the season, but he just loved-- I think he knows my trigger, but he knows where my buttons are. He likes to press them, and I guess it's my fault for letting him get to me the way it does."

As with every season of  Below Deck , the captain is only clued into some (or maybe, most of) the drama when the show makes it to air.

"To see the trailer , and especially to see that part with Ben and Fraser and Ben's, like, smirk-walk where he dismisses Fraser, mate, that pissed me off," Kerry rattles off, referencing a moment from the supertease in which Ben shames Fraser for having more team members fired than any other department.

"There is so much drama," Fraser promises. "I remember filming it in the field and thinking, 'Surely, we have enough now to wrap up this season and get some production on it,' but no, it just kept going."

All the drama is surely thanks in part to the charter guests, who stay anywhere from one to three nights on St. David. Kerry says the trailer, which previews some of the worst behavior from guests in the show's history, barely scratches the surface of what's to come.

"What you've seen are the tamest guests we've had," Kerry explains. "When I saw the trailer, I'm like, 'Come on, man!' So much more to come."

That includes Jill Zarin , the Real Housewives of New York City  OG. Fraser downright declares her the "most difficult" guest of the entire season, with non-stop demands. On the flip side, there are  some  enjoyable visitors -- including one who added "a kiss with Fraser" to his preference sheet!

"I do remember, I'm at my desk in my cabin and we're having... it was a New Year's Eve party, Fraser comes up to me, very sheepish, he didn't make much eye contact and he's like, 'Captain, I don't like this idea... but what are your thoughts on crew kissing a guest for New Year's Eve?'" Kerry shares. "And I said, 'Mate, look, I don't want any of the crew members hassled. Does the crew member want to?' And he looked at me and goes, 'Yes...' I didn't have to even ask who it was gonna be. I just went back to our paperwork and nodded my head."

"I have a rule: you're able to ask permission or you don't get caught," he adds. "That's it."

"I thought that I'd rather not get in trouble, I'd rather keep my job over a smooch for God's sake," Fraser says. "Listen, it's been my golden rule since day one to not get with guests, but it was part of the entertainment of the night. It didn't go any further than that, apart from it may have when we dropped them off, but then they were no longer guests, so I didn't see the problem."

Below Deck  airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo starting Feb. 5, with episodes streaming next day on Peacock.

Viewers also watch the crew members cut loose and relax between sailings. The best Below Deck seasons include a balance of smooth sailing and drama. Nowadays, the series has multiple spinoffs, which follow the same theme, with just as many fun (but sometimes troubling) guests.

After dealing with guests, the crew must find time to relax before the next charter. From drunken, boorish behavior to guests who make impossible requests (and some who don’t know how to take no for an answer), the Below Deck franchise shows that working on a luxury yacht is not exactly a dream job . While guests' antics don't come close to the most shocking Below Deck moments , they can definitely cause a stir.

12 Chelsea and Michael Gonella

Below deck (season 9, episode 9).

Chelsea and Michael incurred problems before even boarding the ship. On season 9 of Below Deck , Chelsea was introduced to the crew as a passenger still recovering from oral surgery. Chelsea had recently injured herself from a bicycle accident and arrived with her jaw wired shut. While many fans initially empathized with the woman, her attitude and entitlement put many audience members off .

During her time with the crew, Chelsea insisted that every course would be blended and then strained to her liking. This included seafood. Rather than settling for blended smoothie alternatives, Chelsea opted to have her oysters and lobsters blended for her. Fans crowded to Reddit to share their disgust with the liquidized concoctions and her overall demeanor. Several claim to have undergone the same procedure but stated that they would have never thrown the same tantrum over meals.

Below Deck (Season 8, Episode 11)

In season 8, a guest named Delores had far too much to drink after a day on the water and was very tired when dinner ended. However, instead of calling it a night, Delores kept the party going by attempting a late-night swim. Delores’ friends (and the crew) warned her that she wasn't allowed to swim in the ocean at night, as it was a safety hazard.

Captain Lee Rosbach stepped in and warned her that he'd send her home if she jumped in the water. To spite them all, Delores ignored everyone and dove into the ocean. In the process, Dolores managed to put herself at risk while ruining the experience of everyone around her. The following day, Captain Lee sent Delores packing. However, she proceeded to jump off the mini boat to shore . Dramatic times like this make Below Deck one of the best reality shows .

Below Deck (Season 7, Episode 3)

A season 7 episode nearly ended in disaster after one of the guests had far too much to drink on Below Deck . Charter guest Brandy seemed to have already had a few drinks when she boarded the yacht, and when the group later went ashore for a picnic, the crew became so concerned about her well being that they took her back to the ship for medical treatment . Meanwhile, the group that accompanied Brandi on the trip seemed to be more worried about the inconvenience her drunkenness would cause them.

It was a moment that separated Below Deck from other reality TV shows because of how dangerous the situation could have been. There are plenty of scripted scenes on Below Deck, but this situation was not one of them. Like Delores, Brandy was a demanding charter guest because of her negligence and stress-inducing behavior.

9 Nichelle Gainey And Areca Whatmore

Below deck mediterranean (season 3, episode 2).

Friends Nichelle Gainey and Areca Whatmore made quite an impression on the crew when they boarded the Talisman Maiton on Below Deck Mediterranean. Perhaps the two women were not used to the finer things in life, but their outraged reaction to being served pasta in bowls instead of plates was just the start of their confrontations with the crew. They even escalated their complaints to Captain Sandy, who had more important things to worry about than whether someone’s wine glass was empty or the dish their pasta was served in.

Following the bowl fiasco and several aggressive complaints hurled at the crew members, stewardess Hannah was forced to apologize to the group. After begrudgingly accepting Hannah's apology, the group continued to make the next dinner as unbearable as possible. Captain Sandy sat in on this dinner to ensure their satisfaction. The women were served lobster, and a guest, who expressed dislike for shellfish, complained when she was served duck instead. The captain, who is quick to defend guests, did the unthinkable: she came to the rescue of Hannah, proving that Hannah was not at fault.

8 Steve Bradley

Below deck (season 3, episode 1).

Steve Bradley was one of a handful of guests who made two appearances on Below Deck , first in season 3 when he demanded that the crew throw him and his friends a foam party, and again in season 6 when he continued to make outrageous demands of the team , who found it challenging to deal with his rowdy behavior. While the crew, tending to his every need, may have suffered from his visit, audiences couldn’t help but laugh at his constant state of insobriety and raucous personality.

Steve even insisted, after discovering that Aerosmith was in the area, that the crew track him down. There didn’t seem to be an afterthought after blurting out this request. Unfortunately, he was also one of the series' most flirty guests, which always results in a problematic charter. While he wasn’t the worst Below Deck guest, he was undoubtedly one of the most demanding and unpredictable clients Captain Lee and his team had to deal with.

7 The Florida State Alumni Crew

Below deck (season 7, episode 7).

In season 7, friends who met at Florida State in their younger years hopped on the yacht for pirate-themed nights and to relive their college days. The friends proceeded to make the crew members’ lives as difficult as possible with inappropriate comments and absurd demands. The few members of the group were so obnoxious and rude to the crew that stewardess Kate commented:

"Anybody who is still talking about college peaked in college, and that's embarrassing."

Unfortunately, the charter guest, Michael, was inappropriate from the start. He began flirting with stewardess Simone and continued making advances towards her, regardless of how uncomfortable she was. Kate Chastain eventually stepped in and put Simone below deck to get her out of an unpleasant situation she should have never been in. The guest’s behavior crossed a line, taking a college reunion from a fun trip to a situation bordering on harassment. The uncomfortable dynamics make him one of the worst.

6 Charley Walters

Below deck (season 8, episode 14).

Demanding guest Charley Walters had a penchant for making the male crew members dress up in tiny Speedos while serving dinner and drinks. Charlie even had the chef running around in circles trying to meet all his exacting demands. By his third appearance, Charley had gotten accustomed to the chief stewardess, Kate Chastain, and her ability to bend to his will. Unfortunately for chef Francesca Rubi, this was her first time on the boat and his demands were all too much. The same was true for all other crew members outside Captain Lee and bosun Eddie Lucas.

Tensions rose so high that new chef Rachel was brought to tears by the problematic guest. Walters later claimed on social media that producers told him to be over the top. Many fans have difficulty shifting the blame to the producers. A guest needs to perform outrageous acts for the footage to exist. A fine line exists between entertaining and being so demanding that professionals have difficulty doing their jobs.

5 Simon Tusha

Below deck (season 1, episode 4).

Simon Tusha, the owner of the company that provided the luxury yachts for the Below Deck series, was featured as a guest in season 1, and his behavior went down like a lead balloon with the crew. Unsurprisingly, when he arrived, he maintained an air of superiority over those around him. Taking advantage of his position and monetary success, he crossed boundaries by making inappropriate comments to female crew members and being rude to Kate.

Worst of all, chief stewardess Adrienne Gang refused to support her crew, insisting they had to get used to Simon’s sense of humor. According to The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette , after the episode aired, Tusha was sentenced to 21 months in jail for his part in a bribery case. His entire persona on deck matched what was said about him in court, making him one of the show’s more controversial guests.

4 Charles Yim

Below deck (season 6, episode 5).

According to Cheat Sheet , Below Deck guest Charles Yim claimed the show made his stay on the yacht look worse than it was. Yim and his guests certainly made the most of their time on the My Seanna , and perhaps the most shocking moment was when the crew found a used condom in the living area .

Charles, the inventor of the Breathometer, had an incredibly negative reaction to the episode and claimed that the condom was planted. He believes the show fabricated scenes because he and his group were “ too boring .” He also went out of his way to complain about several crew members including second stew Josiah Carter and chief stew Kate Chastain. Regarding the condom, the entrepreneur heavily implied that the crew member who found it, Caroline, was not invited to return for the next season. The charter was overall an awkward experience for everyone involved.

3 Erica Rose and Charles Sanders

Below deck (season 3, episode 4).

When former Bachelor star Erica Rose first appeared on Below Deck during season 2, she was initially criticized for her unruly and aggressive guests. When returning with her husband Charles Sanders, audiences were shocked by their treatment of staff and their meager tip . Surprisingly, Charles Sanders proved to be the most troublesome guest. Charles proceeded to complain about the food calling it “ gross ” and redirected his hate at a fellow guest Janelle, calling her a “ b**** .”

After causing copious drama and exhausting the crew, Erica Rose left the staff a minuscule tip . Many fans point out that Rose’s tip was the smallest in the show’s history. In an interview with RealityBlurb , Erica was quick to defend her and her husband’s actions. She claimed that while she has been in the public eye, her husband did not know how to ask appropriately. Erica indicated that the show pushed the couple to amp up the drama and that her husband was simply trying to entertain. Many viewers rejected her vague apology with overwhelmingly negative comments.

2 Krystal Murphy

Below deck (season 6, episode 15).

Cyndi Lauper sang, "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun , " but investment banker Krystal Murphy and her friends said girls want copious amounts of alcohol and fistfights with each other. After over-indulging in cocktails and wine, the primary charter guest fell asleep at the dinner table before punching one of her friends in the face . Following an alcohol-induced collapse, Krystal was wrapped in a blanket that chief stewardess Kate Chastain fondly referred to as her “ shame cocoon ” and then awakened by a friend. She proceeded to attack this friend and proceed the next morning as if nothing had happened.

She made outrageous demands throughout the trip, leading one of Below Deck 's best chief stews , Kate, to label her a “ spoiled brat. ” Since the show aired, she has remained private on social media. While public backlash has been heavy, Krystal has yet to make a statement regarding her less-than-favorable portrayal. She will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the most obnoxious Below Deck guests ever.

1 Timothy Sykes

Below deck (season 2, episode 10).

According to Cheat Sheet , when Captain Lee was asked about the worst Below Desk guest, he didn’t hesitate with his answer: Timothy Sykes, the entrepreneur with a much younger girlfriend who spent the whole trip complaining that there was no Wi-Fi and that the kitchen crew was ignoring all their particular food requests.

To make things worse, Timothy handed over a $17,000 tip at the end of the trip but then asked Captain Lee to give him back $5,000 because his girlfriend didn’t like the food. His girlfriend looked visibly embarrassed by this indiscretion. Most fans who have worked in customer service recoiled at the awkwardness of this scene. In the service industry, there's nothing worse than having to give money back to a guest. For this reason, Sykes takes the cake as the worst guest in Below Deck history.

1. Captain Kerry Is Working on Being a Captain in the Air

Kerry has plenty of experience when it comes to being a captain of the water, but he's trying to master the sky next.

"I'm learning to fly a plane," he exclusively told The Daily Dish , though he likes one aspect of his training much better than the other.

"I get up in the plane and I fly it," he said. "A nd then, I'm supposed to do the theory but I keep having such fun in the practical."

2. Captain Kerry Is in Touch with the Other Below Deck Captains

Though Kerry is newer to the Below Deck universe, he has good relationships with the other franchise captains. "We all talk with each other," Kerry shared. "I talk to Captain  Sandy [Yawn ] quite often. Jason Chambers  — he and I always give each other a hard time on the sideline there. Captain Lee loves to kick my ass when we go to the gym. Captain  Glenn [Shephard ], we're two peas in a pod."

3. Captain Kerry Has Been Mistaken for *This* Bravolebrity

Kerry is close with the other Below Deck captains, but he shares a special connection with Glenn.

"We have so much fun together. Like, when we were at BravoCon, you arrive in different cars. When I arrive, I get out of the car, and I hear this person yell out, 'We love you Captain Glenn!'"

After getting mistaken for the Below Deck Sailing Yacht captain, Kerry said that the two "kept messing with each other" for the entire weekend.

" So I'm like Glenn's stunt double," Kerry joked.

"We were just on each other's case. And he actually texted me yesterday because I'm in town for the Monte Boat Show. We get on so well. He's Canadian, I'm Australian. We're so similar, except Canadians speak funny."

4. Captain Kerry Shares His Dos and Don'ts for Charter Guests

As a captain with more than 30 years of experience in the industry, Kerry has encountered every kind of charter guest over the years. He had an interesting piece of advice for anyone looking to potentially charter a luxury vessel.

According to the Stews, This Is the One Thing Charter Guests Should "Never" Do

"If a charter guest wants to get the most enjoyment out of their yacht, they need to bring people very similar to them," he said. " What I mean by that, and part of that is, for example, if you're early birds, you bring the early birds and not the night owls [because] they'll destroy the crew."

"You're not going to get the quality you want out of it. If the crew is beat and worn,  you're not going to get the best out of your charter," he continued. " Because if you've got guests up at 3 in the morning and the other guests are up at, you know, 5:30 for breakfast, the crew is going to have a hard time."

5. Captain Kerry Is Trained in Jiu-Jitsu

Kerry, who shares a teenage son and a daughter with his ex-wife, revealed that one of his latest hobbies is taking jiu-jitsu classes.

"My son and I, we get proper training in jiu-jitsu," Kerry told The Daily Dish . "I'm doing that really for him. It's a good investment for him; he's 15 years old,  I think it's a fantastic sport."

"Then, I'm doing it for me because when he gets tough enough, I can defend myself," he joked.

6. Captain Kerry Has Rescues Dogs

Just by taking a look at Kerry's public Instagram feed, you can figure out that he is a dog lover.

The Florida resident noted that he will "rescue Huskies" when he's off the boat.

7. Captain Kerry Is All About Adventure

Kerry's role on  Below Deck Adventure  should give some insight into the things he likes to do when he's  not  living and working on a luxury yacht.

"I love motorbikes," he said. "I enjoy my fast cars, and I love to scuba dive."

8. Captain Kerry Is Interested in Meditation and Self-Development

While Kerry is definitely a thrill-seeker, he maintains a level of balance by adding some quiet time in to his routine.

"I'm very big in self-development.  You know, improving yourself," he said. "I like to meditate, be consistent. I focused a lot on my mental well-being over the last few years."

9. Captain Kerry Is a Big Fan of Cycling

As Kerry has worked on his mental health, he's now looking to "focus on the exterior."

"I go to a cycle class," he said. "I'm feeling better every day. I'm feeling fantastic."

Daily Dish Bda Ig Captain Kerry

10. Captain Kerry Took a Break from Yachting to Paint Houses

The  Below Deck  captain has three decades of experience, but he did take a pause from yachting when his marriage was coming to a close.

"I caught my wife cheating on me when I was away, a nd it really messed me up," Captain Kerry explained. "I couldn't do my job properly. I couldn't focus on the job at hand. And, if I can't focus on the job at hand on a 300-foot yacht w ith 24 crew beneath me, plus guests, I can't be there."

Plus, he added, he " still want[ed] to save [his] marriage."

"So I quit my job and flew back, and I still had to make money somehow," the captain continued. "M y landlord from when I first moved here has a painting company, and his  guys had painted a couple of my houses in the past. He said, 'Mate, you can go and work with them, get your head right outside. Put the AirPods in, listen to self-help books.'"

Kerry agreed, and he spent some time "painting houses and appreciating those around [him] and what they were doing."

Where to Watch and Stream Every Season of Below Deck

11. captain kerry owns a yacht management company.

After painting houses for a bit, Kerry returned to the yachting world.

"When I was in a good place and the divorce was finalized, I formed a yacht management company," he said. "[There are]  brokers who would send me new yacht owners who just got into the industry and needed someone to hold their hand and show them the right way."

Kerry continued, " There's not a lot of people with my experience who really focus on the new yacht owners. They're more interested in the big boats, [and] t he experienced yacht owners where there's a big paycheck. But,  I love my industry, [and] I think it's amazing. And you could come into this industry and get steered the wrong direction, or get no advice and you're out of it very quickly with a bad taste in your mouth.

He noted that he " wanted to support them."

"I think if you can afford to go do this, you should," he concluded. "It's fantastic."

Since 2013, Below Deck has been captivating TV audiences across the globe by offering a voyeuristic peek into life on board multi-million dollar luxury charter yachts . Taking readers behind the scenes, YachtCharterFleet identifies the yachts featured on the show, as well as those which have appeared on the celebrated spin-off series Below Deck: Mediterranean , Below Deck: Sailing , Below Deck: Down Under and the latest iteration, Below Deck: Adventure .

Bravo’s hit reality TV series Below Deck chronicles the lives of crew members who work and reside aboard a luxury yacht during the charter season.

Each season features a different crew configuration, and the episodes show how the crew members interact and deal with personal issues alongside their working lives. The seasons are filmed over six weeks, with every episode featuring a new group of charter guests.

Getting even closer to these Below Deck superstars, we take a look at each of the stand-out features of every yacht that has appeared on the show.

Below Deck (US)

Many crew members are recurring on the show;  the longest-standing is Captain Lee Rosbach, who been on the show since 2013. A fan favourite, he has been at the helm of every yacht on Below Deck and seen a number of different crew formations.

The latest Below Deck season 10 is rumoured to be his final swan song, although his legacy on the show is such that whoever replaces him will have very big shoes to fill.

Among the crew members, Chief Stewardess Kate Chastain was an integral member of the team from season two to season seven. Alongside her, Chef Ben Robinson was a permanent fixture of the crew from season one to season four, before stepping out for season five.

Throughout the course of the show, the yachts have played an important role.

Hiring a Below Deck yacht will cost from €140,000 per week - and that price doesn't include expenses such as fuel. While some of the yachts were given an alias over the course of filming, their real names can now be revealed below; as well as the exact cost to rent them.

The largest yacht in the show's history, the 10th and 11th seasons of Below Deck  are set around the Caribbean islands of St Lucia  and Grenada onboard the luxurious 60m (197ft) superyacht ST DAVID . Delivered in 2008 by Italian shipyard Benetti, the yacht has an impressive sleek, supercar-inspired profile that instantly turns heads.

Onboard highlights include her well-appointed sundeck with sunloungers and sunpads where guests can kick back and relax, a spa pool and her al fresco cinema screen set up for unforgettable movie nights.

One of the yacht's most distinctive features is her sophisticated spiral staircase that leads through all three decks and is lit by a skylight in the spa pool of the sun deck. The yacht is very versatile for a variety of charter party configurations, with room for 12 guests across six elegantly appointed cabins.

STARSHIP (aka MY SEANNA)

Making an appearance on seasons 9, 8 and 6 of Below Deck , the majestic motor yacht STARSHIP (known on the show as MY SEANNA) is a yacht charter favorite.

The yacht has traveled far and wide for the show cruising to the jaw-droppingly beautiful St Kitts and Nevis in season 9, the sun-kissed Caribbean in season 8 and the  South Pacific  islands of  Tahiti in season 6.

Known for being among one of the most opulent yachts on the charter market due to her ornate interiors and glossy fittings that have been brushed in 22-carat gold, it is safe to say that this yacht is one of the most opulently styled and extensively equipped yachts on the water. Refitted in 2021, the Delta Marine yacht can accommodate 12 guests across 6 cabins and is extremely versatile for a variety of yacht charter party configurations.

Appearing three times on the hit show, the 47m (153ft) charter yacht BG (known on the show as VALOR) featured in seasons 7, 5 and 4 of Below Deck , taking charter guests to a variety of sun-kissed and beautiful locations. The yacht's real name is BG, and she was built in 1990 by the world's most revered shipbuilder Feadship . Since then, she has undergone many interiors refreshes to keep her in tip-top condition.

The yacht traveled around Thailand in Season 7  where the crew and viewers were treated to a truly memorable South East Asian experience. From the iconic Phi Phi Islands to the beautiful beaches of Ko Yao Yai, there were plenty of fascinating landmarks to see on the way. Season 5 took viewers to the tranquil cruising grounds of  Saint Martin whilst season 4 saw M/Y BG in the glistening waters of the  Virgin Islands .

Accomodating 12 guests across 6 cabins, she is also capable of carrying up to 10 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

Season 3 of Below Deck was announced after a hugely successful second-season finale, which was the highest-rated episode of the series. The new season saw the crew head to the Bahamas onboard  superyacht STAY SALTY  known on the show as EROS.

She is equipped with an array of luxurious amenities including an eight-person sundeck Jacuzzi, barbecue and yacht-wide sound system. She also boasts timeless interior styling with intricate wood panelling and a neutral colour palette which helps create an inviting atmosphere for those on board.

The yacht was sold in November 2013 - just before filming for season 3 began - for an asking price of $17.9 million.

OHANA (aka STAR DIAMOND)

Premiering in August 2014, season 2 of Below Deck returned with 13 episodes documenting life on board the slightly smaller superyacht STAR DIAMOND in the British Virgin Islands . Among many other features, the yacht is equipped with a large sundeck, outdoor bar and luxury accommodation for 10 guests.

After filming the series, M/Y STAR DIAMOND was sold for an asking price of $10.9 million and is now on the charter market with a charter rate of $160,000/week. Extensively refit in 2022, the work on the superyacht has included a complete interior refresh, the yacht now features light, modern styling - an engine rebuild and a cabin conversion.

HONOR (aka BARENTS )

Superyacht charter yacht BARENTS

The first season of Below Deck premiered on 1 July 2013 after being announced in April 2012. Chartering around the Caribbean , the starring superyacht was named HONOR for the show but chartered under the name CUOR DI LEONE which translates to ‘Lion Heart’ in Italian. She now goes by the name BARENTS .

Built by Italian shipyard Benetti in 1999 and refit in 2021, the famous vessel has undergone a complete makeover, bringing her up to modern standards. She can accommodate up to 12 charter guests and features luxury amenities for guests to enjoy including state-of-the-art TVs and a sundeck Jacuzzi.

Following the show, superyacht BARENTS was sold for around $15 million and her new owner commissioned a major refit. A great deal of money was spent on updating her interior with a classic-modern style of design as well as on brand-new exterior furniture and entertainment systems.

IONIAN PRINCESS

Ionain Princess season 1 Below Deck Mediterranean

Premiering on 3 May 2016, the very first season of Below Deck: Mediterranean , a spin-off of the increasingly popular franchise, took to viewers' screens. This time the ‘yachties’ took care of their guests onboard the motor yacht IONIAN PRINCESS  in the Mediterranean  destination of Greece .

The starring yacht IONIAN PRINCESS was delivered from Christensen in 2005 and was later refit in 2016 and again in 2021. Truly opulent, she bears interiors that are sleekly finished with a range of warmly toned woods and plenty of comfortable furnishings. She also boasts one of the largest sundecks for a yacht of her size.

Below Deck: Mediterranean Season 1 yacht IONIAN PRINCESS is not currently available for private yacht charter vacations.

Below Deck: Sailing Yacht

This is the first time the Below Deck franchise branched away from gleaming motor yachts, with the various weather issues that sailing yachts have to contend with adding even more drama and excitement.

The design of luxury sailing yachts  also creates far more confined crew areas than we are used to seeing on the original Below Deck . In general, sailing yachts tend to feature smaller galleys, compact stew stations and cramped crew quarters which are in closer proximity to the guests’ living areas, putting crew under increased pressure to deliver their signature silver service.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3

In addition, deck crew are placed in a far more demanding role, with sailing yachts requiring increased accuracy and precision to safely maneuver and plenty of deck duties taking place in the midst of guest areas.

How to charter a Below Deck superyacht

Want to know how much it would cost to charter one of the luxury superyachts featured on US hit TV series Below Deck ? We take a look inside Below Deck ’s famous superyachts that you can charter for yourself, and find out what they have to offer charter guests on board.

Northern Sun

The star yacht of Below Deck Down Under season two, the 50.8-metre Northern Sun (originally delivered as Hokko Maru ) has lived a full and fascinating life. She was the largest yacht built by Narasaki Shipbuilding at the time and worked as an ice-class research vessel, analysing marine life and ocean currents in the North Japan Sea. As a result, she has the hardy constitution of an explorer, transformed from ship to superyacht under the stewardship of her new owners.

Northern Sun’s main deck is now dedicated entirely to entertainment, from the al fresco dining area to the main saloon with its piano and games table. Other leisure highlights include gym equipment, a dedicated library on the lower deck and an outdoor Jacuzzi, surrounded by sun pads and lounge beds. The owners’ addition of a forward seating area during her refit allows for versatile recreation, whether the mood calls for cocktail parties or quiet, waterside contemplation.

Accommodation is for up to 12 guests across six cabins, with rich, warm interiors that feature natural materials such as narra and makore wood (commonly known as cherry mahogany). The ex-explorer also – naturally – has impressive stowing capacity. She's able to carry two Laser sailboats, scuba-diving equipment, a waterski and a two-deck-high inflatable water slide, with the broker describing her as a "family-orientated" vessel.

Charter cost: Northern Sun is managed for charter by Ocean Independence with a weekly charter rate starting from $161,700.

60 metre Benetti motor yacht St David is the star of the tenth season of Below Deck, returning to the Caribbean with beloved Captain Lee. A finalist at the 2009 World Superyacht Awards , St David is a full-custom yacht with both interior and exterior design by British studio Winch Design .

She has made appearances at a number of high-profile events such as the Cannes Film Festival and has been spotted at various locations around the world including the Seychelles, Red Sea and Abu Dhabi. Accommodation is for 12 guests in six cabins, with a split-level master suite that lets in plenty of light.

A palatial theme characterises St David ’s social spaces, with features including a generous skylounge and a spiral staircase that leads through all three decks and is lit by a skylight in the spa pool of the sun deck. Elsewhere, St David has expansive water toy facilities and storage, including scuba dive gear, a new 7.2m tender, new Waverunners, and an electric foiling surfboard.

Charter cost: St David is managed by Morley Yachts with a weekly charter rate starting from €325,000.

The star of Below Deck Mediterranean season seven, 49.8 metre Home is the first “green” superyacht to appear on the show. Featuring a ground-breaking combination of a super-efficient Fast Displacement Hull Form by Van Oossanen Naval Architects with power provided by a hybrid propulsion system, Home boasts reduced emissions and fuel costs for the eco-conscious charter guest.

Defined by a distinctive vertical bow and large expanses of glass, Home was penned by Omega Architects and launched by Heesen in 2017. Her interiors, designed by Cristiano Gatto in a modern “Ibiza style”, can accommodate up to 12 guests in six cabins including a full-beam master cabin with a dedicated dressing room and a private office. There is also room for nine members of Below Deck crew on board, including Captain Sandy who has returned to the helm for the seventh season while Home is cruising the coasts of Malta .

The main socialising spot is up on the sundeck, complete with a Jacuzzi and sit-up bar, a shaded lounge and protection from the elements provided by glass screens. Closer to the water, a beach club with an air-conditioned gym is situated next to the swimming platform from which guests can launch the water toys including SeaBobs, Hoverboards, E-foils, Jet Skis and a Flyboard. Home also carries gear for scuba diving, waterskiing and wakesurfing for guests to make the most of their time on board.

Charter cost: Home is managed for charter by Burgess with a weekly charter rate starting from $245,000.

Sailing under her own name around the South Pacific islands of French Polynesia on Below Deck’s sixth series, the 56.4 metre My Seanna (now Starship ) was built by Delta Marine in 2000 and refitted in 2014. The Glade-Johnson designed superyacht reappeared again for season eight, where she was filmed cruising in Antigua. She is now starring in the latest season of the show, season nine, following her recent sale .

Key features include an open air Jacuzzi surrounded by an al fresco drinks bar, a gym, a sauna room, a helipad and a spacious beach club complete with a lounge, flatscreen TV and a small galley for preparing snacks or drinks. Her opulent interiors can accommodate up to 12 guests and 11 crew and even offer a home cinema and piano for entertaining in the main saloon. There are multiple toys carried on board as well, including gear for diving and spearfishing, Seabobs and equipment for underwater filming.

“The thing that I really love about My Seanna is the spacious cabins” says Worth Avenue retail charter broker, Shannon McCoy, who has appeared on episodes of Below Deck . She describes My Seanna as a “well-appointed yacht with a good collection of toys for the guests to enjoy,” offering an excellent layout with a variety of spaces that allows charterers “to have breakfast in a different place every morning or enjoy dinner whether it's outside under the sun or in the formal dining area.”

Charter cost: Starship is managed for charter by Worldwide Boat with a weekly charter rate starting from $275,000.

Lady Michelle

Sailing under her real name, Lady Michelle was the star of the sixth series of Below Deck Mediterranean , which was the latest series from the Med spin off. The 54.8 metre Benetti superyacht is the second biggest yacht ever to feature on the show, following just behind the 56.2 metre motor yacht The Wellington from season five. During season six Lady Michelle hosted charter guests in Ibenik, Croatia with Captain Sandy behind the helm.

First delivered in 2003, Lady Michelle features accommodation for up to 14 guests including a split-level master suite with its own panoramic observation lounge. Her Stefano Natucci interiors offer indoor and al fresco dining spaces, an expansive sundeck with a hot tub and dedicated gym. There’s also a range of toys at the guests’ disposal, from Jet Skis and Seabobs to fishing gear and a waterslide.

Charter cost: Lady Michelle is managed by Burgess with a weekly charter rate starting from $325,000.

The Wellington

Actually named The Wellesley , this 56.2 metre Oceanco superyacht is owned by property magnate and hotelier Khalid Affara and named after his luxury art deco hotel in London. Delivered in 1993, The Wellesley features extended deck spaces and Donald Starkey -penned interiors that replicate the grandeur of the eponymous Knightsbridge hotel. Highlights on board include a waterfall jacuzzi, an outdoor cinema for movies under the stars and a unique private club-style lounge complete with a Winston Churchill inspired cigar room.

Describing why she makes an excellent charter yacht, James Graham-Cloete, director of charter management from TWW Yachts , says that The Wellesley is “ideal for entertaining family and friends, or hosting corporate events in utter privacy,” thanks to the fact that she “boasts some of the largest open deck spaces of any 56 metre on the water.” Graham-Cloete also adds that, on The Wellesley , “guests are invited to experience the same exceptional personal service, fine dining and attention to detail that has become synonymous with the hotel, on board a private superyacht,” while being looking after by her 14 crew members. “The crew have one of the lowest turnover rates in the industry and one of the best charter records, along with a full-time masseuse on board- making her the ultimate charter yacht!” says Graham-Cloete.

Charter cost: The Wellesley is managed by TWW Yachts with a weekly charter rate starting from €230,000.

Talisman Maiton

Built in 2006 by Turquoise Yachts , with a refit in 2012, the 54.2 metre Talisman Maiton sailed the coasts of Italy in the third series of Below Deck Mediterranean and was also captained by Sandy Yawn. Key features include a generous open plan sun deck with a forward-facing Jacuzzi and bar, al fresco dining spaces and a gym. Inside, she features six individually styled cabins for her 12 guests – including a master suite with its own private office – complemented by a sumptuous interior inspired by a combination of Asian and Art Deco influences. Her toy box is filled with snorkelling and fishing gear, Jet Skis and more for guests to enjoy while on board.

Charter cost: Talisman Maiton is managed by Burgess with a weekly charter rate starting from €273,000.

The 47 metre Heesen -built superyacht Sirocco took centre stage in both the second and fourth series of Below Deck Mediterranean and introduced captain Sandy Yawn, who has become a returning cast member on the show. Launched in 2006 with a refit in 2013, Sirocco features a dark blue hull and was designed inside and out by Omega Architects . She accommodates up to 12 guests and nine crew and offers charterers an eight person Jacuzzi, a gym, plenty of al fresco entertainment areas and a well-stocked toy box comprising Jet Skis, a waterslide and gear for wakeboarding or waterskiing. Worth Avenue retail charter broker Shannon McCoy describes Sirocco as a “very, very popular charter yacht” and with her fleet of water toys and pedigree Heesen design, provides “an excellent platform for a great time at sea.”

Charter cost: Sirocco is managed for charter by Worth Avenue with a weekly charter rate starting from €195,000.

Ionian Princess

Appropriately named for the first season of Below Deck Mediterranean , which was set in Greece, the 45.7 metre Christensen -built yacht was captained by Mark Howard during filming. Launched in 2005 and last refitted in 2016, Ionian Princess features a luxurious Greek-style inspired interior finished with high-gloss sapelle mahogany joinery and custom in-laid stonework throughout. Ionian Princess can host up to 12 guests in six cabins, including two master cabins, and also boasts plentiful dining options and a sundeck equipped with a hot tub and sunpads. She also comes with a fleet of water toys from waterskiing and wakeboarding kit to Jet Skis and kayaks. Thanks to her shallow draft, she can also access hard-to-reach hidden gems in the Mediterranean Sea that other larger yachts aren’t able to. “ Ionian Princess is ideally suited for cruising the Mediterranean, which is the most sought-after region for summer yacht charters,” says her management team at charter brokers Northrop & Johnson.

Charter cost: Ionian Princess is managed by Northrop & Johnson with a weekly charter rate starting from $175,000.

Parsifal III

Parsifal III has been the star of the sailing yacht spin off of Below Deck , captained by Glenn Shephard during filming. The 54 metre Perini Navi was launched in 2005 and was designed by Rémi Tessier . She was most recently refitted in 2020, and offers accommodation for a total of 12 guests and nine crew. Her design has seen her scoop a number of World Superyacht Awards and provides her with excellent performance capabilities at sea; when the weather is on your side, Parsifal III can hit speeds of up to 18 knots under sail. While at anchor, there is still plenty to keep guests entertained with a variety of al fresco and indoor dining spaces, a flybridge hot tub, gym equipment, a swimming platform and a fully-stocked toybox.

Charter cost: Parsifal III is managed for charter by Camper & Nicholsons with a weekly charter rate starting from €195,000.

I might just slip in and get some bites of it," Jason exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting his partnership with J&J Vision Acuvue Oasys Max . "I don't mind watching Sailing. I like watching Captain Glenn [Shephard] and I watch Captain Kerry [Titheradge] on Below Deck and I like watching [Chief Stew] Fraser [Olender] work. This season I've been watching all of the Med because Aesha is on it."

Season 9 of Below Deck Mediterranean presented many obstacles for Captain Sandy Yawn , including issues with Chef Johnathan Shillingford . Jason explained to Us why he also sided with Johnathan, who refused to get up late at night to make food for the guests.

"One charter or two charters in, you just get up and get into it and then adjust afterwards. They made the right adjustment. I saw in later episodes that he was prepping some meals prior to going to bed so he made the adjustments; he seems like a good chef that way," Jason noted. "He can easily adjust to what's going on. He's had some low periods but has learned to rise up to the event."

A Guide to Every Captain in the 'Below Deck' Franchise: From Lee to Sandy

While he understood why Sandy defended Johnathan , Jason admitted he would have gotten up to help with the request. Jason weighed in on Below Deck drama as well after Captain Kerry's cabin checks in the most recent season raised questions about how necessary or standard those inspections were in the industry.

"It's a monthly thing that has to be done. It's a requirement from the official logbook. You have to just do a quick cabin check," he explained. "The captain doesn't have to do it but the first officer or someone has to do it."

Jason pointed out that Kerry was doing a "monthly requirement," adding, "You have to actually just look for general hygiene, cleanliness and that is what it is about."

While reflecting on his experiences, Jason opened up about his approach to firing staffers - including on Below Deck Down Under .

Below Deck's Biggest Drama Through the Years

"In the real world, we want to try and keep them and improve them to the point that they succeed. That makes us feel better as captains that we've actually accomplished what we've set out. But when it comes to these franchises, we do only have nine weeks. We don't have a year or six months so we want to try to see a result."

A shorter charter means less time to wait for someone to improve.

"If we as captains don't see that result actually coming out at the end of nine weeks, we will make a decision. Because we want to see a success story," he added. "We come to the boat and we don't know the boat or the crew. We want to put that crew together and walk away with the best outcome..'"

With Below Deck Down Under coming back for a third season , Jason is excited to be back at the helm. That's why Jason has partnered with J&J Vision Acuvue Oasys Max after watching himself struggle with his contacts (with Aesha assisting him) on the show. He has now been properly fit for a pair of contact lenses, been trained how to properly put in the lens and made this a part of his routine.

Former 'Below Deck' Stars: Where Are They Now?

"It was a struggle. During season 1, I had my glasses for the first time. I'm 53 now and it was only in my late 40s that I started to wear glasses. I didn't really think I needed them. I thought I was invincible there for a while," he recalled. "Then I was doing season 1 and I just went, ‘I need glasses.' So I started wearing glasses and I just couldn't find them. I was leaving them on the bridge. I ended up buying three pairs of glasses for every boat that I worked on and the crew would just bring 'em back to the bridge."

Since getting tested for contact lenses, Jason doesn't have the same issues.

"I went into a local shop and then they just did a little test for two seconds. That's when I had these contacts. I was never shown how to put them in and never really shown if they were the right contacts," he continued. "I didn't even know how to put them in and it was a struggle. After that, Acuvue reached out, and I went for an eye exam. I actually learned about eye health and learned how to put them in properly."

Jason added: "I've had so many people message me saying, ‘I have the same problem.' Now not only have I got the right understanding of eye health but I had the right contacts for me too."

Captain Kerry Titheradge and Fraser Olender shared interesting details about Jill Zarin ‘s time on Below Deck .

“She’s sweet. She’s very lovely and very funny — but demanding,” Fraser exclusively told Us Weekly about Zarin’s appearance on season 11. “[But] all guests are demanding. They’re charter guests and they’ve got their preferences and sometimes they can be frustrating.”

The chief stew had nothing but praise for Zarin after having her as a charter guest .

“But we had a wonderful time and we had that amazing beach picnic,” Fraser added. “It was just a great trip. It was challenging — don’t get me wrong — but a great trip. It’s yachting [so] what do you expect?”

Fraser also revealed Zarin’s craziest preference sheet request, telling Us , “It’s going to be the ice. She didn’t like any of the ice apart from a specific one. From a specific freezer. So we had to have a specific ice box that kind of followed wherever she went. I love it. If that’s the biggest concern, then we should [be good].”

During the joint interview, Kerry called the fellow Bravo personality an “honorary” crew member . He also confirmed that Zarin was only a guest and not the primary of the trip.

Zarin is best known for her time on the Real Housewives of New York City , which she starred in from 2008 to 2011. However, she isn’t the only Housewife who made cameos on Below Deck over the years.

Remember that one spin-off of Below Deck that only lasted a season? Yeah, very few do. Below Deck Adventure was a new kind of Below Deck . The series watched the adventures of a crew aboard a motoryacht that chartered all around Norway. With a colder climate and a plethora of extreme off-charter excursions, Below Deck Adventure should have worked. But something went wrong , and the series didn’t receive an order for more episodes.

New crew. New destination. New temperature. Debuting in November 2022, Bravo introduced the fourth spin-off of their Below Deck franchise, Below Deck Adventure. The series featured the on and off boat adventures of the luxury yacht Mercury while setting sail through the Fjords of Norway . Led by Captain Kerry Titheradge , the newest captain in the Below Deck Cinematic universe, he took his crew of fresh TV personalities through a terrain the reality franchise had never dared to go before: the cold. And perhaps that was one factor into why this series has been stuck at dock.

'Below Deck Adventure' Tried a New Aventure-Fueled Formula

Below Deck Adventure wasn't the series' first foray as a spin-off, but it was unique in the fact that there were no cross-over crew members. When each of the other three spin-offs began, there was at least one person on the crew that fans already knew of. Below Deck Mediterranean had Chef Ben Robinson from Below Deck , Below Deck Sailing Yacht had Chef Adam Glick from Below Deck Mediterranean , and Below Deck Down Under had Chief Stew Aesha Scott from Below Deck Mediterranean . Though it may not be a crucial factor, it is the only series not to continue the trend.

Throughout the 13-episode premiere season, the crew brought their luxury guests on an assortment of on-land excursions. Many of these outings were certainly not for the faint of heart. The first charter brought guests on an exploration in the Valldal caves. North Carolina divorcees went biking down Trollstigen Road, one of the steepest and most difficult paths to navigate. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Heather Gay and her friends went zip lining at Geiranger Nature Park. The fourth group of charter guests took on the mountains of Åndalsnes for a paragliding adventure. Amid a drag night and Pride celebrations, charter guests took a helicopter to Valderøya to repel down a mountain. In Vassvika, Norway, charter guests went horseback riding, though one guest didn’t make it very far on this excursion. The final group of guests were brought to the Marble Caves for a fashion show and a photoshoot celebrating the primary guest’s new fashion line. And yes, the stews had to model the Norwegian-inspired gowns, sans the glam. So why didn't these extra special excursions help Below Deck Adventure ?

The Crew Might've Sunk 'Below Deck Adventure'

Alongside Captain Kerry Titheradge, the cast of Below Deck Adventure featured a cast of new faces to the Below Deck franchise . Leading the interior, Faye Clarke brought the professionalism but ultimately found herself at odds with her stews and chef, Jessica Condy . Chef Jess served five-star meals and high stress during every charter. Whose hair ended up in two of the dishes? The truth may never be revealed. Power-hungry Oriana Schneps and Kasie Faddah had a history of working with one another and often battled the other for that second epaulet.

On the exterior, Lewis Lupton served as Bosun with a sweet demeanor but lacked authority with his deckhands. The season started with three deckhands, but quickly found themselves shorthanded as cowboy Kyle Dickard was asked to resign after his sexual harassment incident with Kasie and the threat of violence towards Nathan Morley . Michael Gilman came to the Mercury for his first stint as a yachtie after his time working on a container ship. And then there was the oh-so promising Seth Jacobson , whose vast experience brought an ego to the Mercury as he undermined Lewis while catching the eye of Faye. Shockingly, when the time came to name a Lead Deckhand, it went to Seth over Nathan. Maybe that was the decision that sunk the ship.

The cast was filled with the usual suspects . There were attractive individuals with a range of yachting experience. There was the steadfast captain who was beyond capable — so capable that when the show went under, Bravo was terrified of losing him completely. Motoryacht Mercury had a temperamental chef whose range of emotions cost her crucial relationships and charter tips. The dueling stews didn't really add much, leaving Chief Stew Faye trying to navigate how to manage her team. Once Kyle Dickard was gone, the exterior team lacked any semblance of cohesion or television excitement. So is the cast's lack of cohesion the reason for the lack of success for Below Deck Adventure ?

'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' Star Finally Reveals if Storylines Are Fake

Real or fake? Gary spills!

A Different Production Company Is Responsible for 'Below Deck Adventure'

For whatever reason, Bravo decided not to continue forward with another order of Below Deck Adventure . Rarely does a hit franchise cut the chord as quickly as they did here. For those who watched the first season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht , that season also had some rough growing pains. What that series did was clean ship, keeping Captain Glen Shephard and the beloved Parsifall III, and introducing an entirely new crew for Season 2. What resulted was one of the most dynamic trios that has stayed on board through Season 4. So why couldn't Mercury do the same thing? Is it because of the unique nature of a sailing yacht that saved that series?

The landscape that Below Deck Adventure provided was sensational. Even if a second season didn't specifically stay in Norway, any other country in the region would have been sufficient. In fact, it's not always that Below Deck stays the course in the same locale back-to-back seasons. It's possible the network knew of the departure of Captain Lee Rosbach from the flagship series, so even if Below Deck Adventure continued, the spin-off would be without Captain Kerry? Well, it's not uncommon for the series to start a second season with a new captain at the helm. Below Deck Mediterranean began with Captain Mark Howard before he departed and was replaced by Captain Sandy Yawn . With Captain Kerry out of the equation, was no one else salvageable? Certainly, that couldn't be.

The heads of the department, Chief Stew Faye Clarke and Bosun Lewis Lupton were sufficient at their jobs . They provided enough television drama that warranted a second go. Deckhand Nathan Morley provided a fantastic aura, so sack the rest, bring in a new Captain, and you've got a Season 2! Unless that's the problem. Is there another television-worthy yacht captain that is willing to film this behemoth reality series? Coincidentally, Below Deck Adventure was the only production company to not be produced by the same company as the flagship series and its spin-offs. Below Deck Adventure was helmed by Shed Media , a group known for multiple Real Housewives series. The other Below Deck franchises were brought to life by 51 Minds Entertainment. How important is this or is it all just a coincidence? There's a nuance to making an episode of Below Deck , and Below Deck Adventure was just lacking in the storytelling department.

'Below Deck Adventure' Looks To Be Permanently Docked

The moment that Below Deck revealed that the series’ captain, Captain Kerry Titheradge, would be taking over for Captain Lee Rosbach on the flagship series , Adventure was officially lost at sea. Between an early firing of a dangerous deckhand, the complete lack of chemistry from the interior team, a displeasing chef, and a deck team that never got the credit they deserved, Below Deck Adventure wasn’t working. And yet, unlike Below Deck Sailing Yacht , there was no complete reset to salvage the series . While the series did deserve a second voyage as BDSY received, it never got the chance. Perhaps all the troubles on the first voyage made it unworthy of more charters in Scandinavia.

Below Deck Adventure had all the makings of a hit , but Bravo gave up on it. With years between the filming of the first season, it's unlikely another adventure is underway. Now, will this deter the network from greenlighting another spin-off? It's hard to say. Right now, Below Deck and Below Deck Mediterranean are riding strong. Below Deck Sailing Yacht has a fifth season coming. Below Deck Down Under ? That's another story. No matter how Below Deck Adventure fared, fans of the franchise aren't hurting for content.
