Proper Hospitality is seeking an Front Desk Manager at Montauk Yacht Club, a 107-room luxury property set to debut within The Collective. Spanning 35 acres on Montauk’s Star Island, Montauk Yacht Club offers waterfront views, a private beach, three pools, multiple dining options and over 200 wet slips that can accommodate boats from small day cruisers to 300-foot superyachts. Holding eight decades of East End history as an elite social club and thoughtfully reborn for the modern traveler, guests can expect classic East Coast architecture, well-appointed interiors and detail-driven amenities. 

As the Front Desk Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our front desk and guest services. You will work closely with the Front Office Manager to oversee the daily activities of the front office team, ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success and reputation of our luxury property.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Services

• Greet and assist guests with check-in, check-out, and inquiries, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience
• Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and resolve them promptly to exceed guest expectations
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of hotel services, local attractions, and dining options to provide recommendations and information to guests

Front Desk Operations

• Supervise the front desk staff, including scheduling, training and performance management
• Oversee the reservation process, ensuring accuracy and handle room assignments efficiently
• Maintain proper inventory of room keys, guest amenities and stationery supplies
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures

Financial Management

• Assist in managing the front office budget, including monitoring expenses and revenue
• Handle cash and payment transactions accurately, including reconciling daily cash reports
• Assist with billing, invoicing and guest account reconciliation

Team Leadership

• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment for the front office team
• Provide guidance, training, and support to staff to enhance their skills and performance
• Lead by example, demonstrating excellent customer service and professionalism

Technology & Systems

• Proficiently operate the hotel's property management system and other front office software
• Ensure that all equipment and technology at the front desk are in working order

Security & Safety

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and staff
• Assist in implementing emergency procedures and security protocols

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management or a related field preferred
• Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role in a luxury hotel or resort
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership abilities with a customer-focused approach
• Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Ocean Club offers high end dining but very unimaginable menu and high prices.

Family Friendly”

MYC is a family friendly hotel with 2 pools a beach and a restaurant built in. The rooms are spacious with all modern amenities. The location is quiet and only a short drive away from the restaurants and shops of town. It is a great place to visit and stay. My only comment of caution is that the walls are very thin, so our neighbors heard our baby cry and we heard our neighbors chatting.
