My family (about 30 of us) went out yesterday on the Fantasea to sprinkle the ashes of my mother in law at sea. We were texted directions and advice about what to wear which helped us prepare for the outing. We arrived on time and the staff greeted us and gave us the safety drill. They did everything they could to make the outing a wonderful event. It's never easy to lose a loved one but this ship and crew are polite, trustworthy and caring. The ship was beautiful too with plenty of room and chairs for all of us. Many thanks for making this so special for us.

I had my baby shower aboard the Fantasea Yacht and we were so impressed by the staff. The yacht itself was stellar. Being 34 weeks pregnant, I was really worried about how I was going to manage hovering over a toilet, while sailing in a teeny cramped bathroom. Wow, was I ever mistaken. If I had brought a bubble bath, I coudl have taken one! The women's bathroom was so luxurious! The bar area downstairs was awesome, and so was the upstairs deck, where we spent most of our time during the party. The highlight though was Captain Jules and Jason the first mate... they went above and beyond. They seriously helped set up and break down for the party. Captain Jules was so sweet too. Highly recommend this company. I hope we find another reason to host an event aboard this yacht!

What a wonderful experience! I had the privilege of hosting a baby shower on the Fantasea. Manny, Jules the Captain, and Jason the fist mate were so awesome and so accommodating. We had about 34 people and the space was comfortable enough to accommodate our guests. We held a sunset cruise from 5pm-8pm and it was such so picture perfect. Words cannot explain the beauty you experience upon sailing the Fantsea Yacht. I would recommend chartering this vessel to anyone who wants to know what life in San Diego is all about!

Had the pleasure this past month, to throw an amazing going away party for myself and 41 of my closest friends. We had a DJ, catered food, & brought our own spirits and beers that were served by the crews bartender! Captain Jules was so helpful with any questions as we prepped for the event as well as arranging everything. At one point during the night when we ran out of ice, she went out of her way and made a special stop just to grab us a few bags! Her and the first mate Robert were an amazing crew and helped the event run smoothly while making sure we were all safe and having a good time! More than satisfied with our night out on the bay and would love to be back on the Fantasea again sometime! I would recommend this boat and its crew to everyone!

Good experience overall but too small for our wedding. We had 45 guests and the space on the boat just didn't offer enough seating space and we were packed together tightly during our dinner. Everyone enjoyed our wedding as the boat travelled around San DIego bay and the staff treated us well. The ceremony and reception space is just too small for any wedding with more than about 30 attendees.

FantaSea Yachts in Marina del Rey

Dandeana is 110 feet long with a width of 24 feet and has European-design accents. She has 3 levels and can accommodate up to 130 guests comfortably. The three decks include, the Main Salon, the Bar and Party deck and the open Sky Deck.

RegentSea is 115 feet long, with a width of 28 feet. With its large Main Salon, separate Bar Lounge and gorgeous Upper Party Deck, she can accommodate up to 135 guests.

FantaSea One is the largest Luxury Yacht in Marina Del Rey. She is an ultra-modern yacht with 4 levels that can accommodate up to 300 guests. The 4 levels include the Captain's Lounge complete with modern lounge features, the Admiral's Dining Deck, a formal seating space with beautiful big windows, The Party Deck with a hug dance floor, a large marble bar and 360° views of the Marina, and the Sky Deck perfect for sunsets, star light, or a stunning natural setting for your wedding or other important ceremony.

Private Charters FAQ's

Where is the Boardwalk FantaSea yacht located? The Boardwalk FantaSea is docked at the Beast Dock behind the Lighthouse Buffet. View Directions .

What is the cruising route? The cruising route takes you from the panoramic views of the Kemah Boardwalk into Galveston Bay and Clear Lake, where you can enjoy the scenic waterscapes and beautiful homes along the way.

Will we get seasick? Both the substantial length and breadth of our luxury yacht; as well as, the protected waterways on which we travel, provide premium conditions for a stable and pleasant cruise. Getting seasick under these conditions is unlikely. On occasion, inclement weather conditions dictate our route and if the waves on Galveston Bay are choppy and uncomfortable, the Captain may elect to further explore the sights on Clear Lake to ensure a delightful cruise for everyone. It is recommended that guests who have a history of seasickness take preliminary precautions to avoid this just in case. Crew members cannot give out medicine aboard the yacht.

What about inclement weather? Rain or inclement weather in most cases does not present a problem. Other than the aft lower deck, the upper promenade deck and the bow perimeter -which are the perfect spots to venture out to when the weather is suitable- our yacht is enclosed and climate controlled.

Are the plasma TV screens available for client use? Yes! We encourage our guests to incorporate the two 48" LED Screens with their cruise. We have the capability to play DVD's. For a wedding event, you may want to show family photos throughout the reception. They are also a great asset for proms, reunions, anniversary and corporate events. Your personal Cruise Consultant is the avenue to gain all the details. Unlimited use of the LED screens is complimentary.

Is it permitted to add to the décor of the vessel? Yes! Please discuss your ideas with your Cruise Consultant. Our professional interior designer has tastefully appointed the vessel with just the perfect amount of nautical flare. As this is your cruise, our goal is to provide what you require, though a few safety limitations may apply.

How do we reserve the vessel for private charters? Reserving the vessel requires a signed contract and a $2,000 deposit. Deposits will be applied to the balance of your cruise.

When is final payment for private charters due? Final payment for your event is required 5 days prior to departure. Your Cruise Consultant will assist with any questions or details.

Is there a processing fee for using a credit card? We do not charge a processing fee.

Is there a fuel surcharge on private charters? We do not charge a fuel surcharge.

Once the contract has been signed may I change the guest count? Yes! We realize that friends and relatives will be excited about your upcoming event on a luxury yacht and would like to be included. Your final guest count is due 5 days prior to your event.

May I use my personal choice of vendor? (Photographer, Florist, Entertainment)? The Staff at Boardwalk FantaSea Yacht Charters has carefully selected vendors that have a fantastic reputation for delivering great results. We have had some creative opportunities in the past with customer provided vendors.

What is the difference between "boarding time" and "cruising time?" "Boarding Time" is the earliest time guests may board the ship. You are allowed to board any time after that up until the "Cruising Time" at which point the vessel will set sail. Boarding for most trips is 30 minutes prior to "Cruising Time."

Are children allowed on dinner cruises? Children are welcome on most of the Boardwalk FantaSea's cruises. A ticket is needed per person to board, regardless of age.

What size groups can the Boardwalk FantaSea Yacht accommodate? We accommodate groups from 2 to 128. Our fabulous Public Cruises are a great venue for smaller groups like families and office parties. For private events such as Holiday parties and weddings, the Boardwalk FantaSea can accommodate groups up to 128.

Are there restrooms on board? Yes, there are full size lavatories on each level of the ship. A men's and a women's "head" on the Main Deck and one unisex facility on the Second Deck.

How many people may be seated at one table? Anywhere from 2 to 10 people may be seated at one table; table sizes include 4 guests, 6 guests, 8 guests or 10 guests.

Is smoking allowed on the cruise? Smoking is allowed on the outside open-air decks. Use of provided ashtrays is mandatory to eliminate litter. Don't Mess with Texas ~ we love our coastline!

Can we get married on the boat with a party of less than 20? Yes, we can accommodate small wedding parties. Call Boardwalk FantaSea Yacht Charters at 281-538-9600 for information about FantaSea's fabulous "Mini-Monies."

I do not have a credit card. How can I make reservations? Cash, money order, or cashier's check can be paid at our Boardwalk FantaSea office located at #8 Kemah Boardwalk, Suite G (located next door to the Boardwalk Inn Lobby). Call (281) 538-9600 to schedule a time to make a payment and for details. We do not accept personal checks for a public cruise ticket.

Is the Boardwalk FantaSea wheelchair accessible? Boardwalk FantaSea Cruises are not 100% wheelchair accessible. We do have an accessible ramp and will do our best to accommodate everyone. We cannot guarantee 100% accessibility due to low tides, high tides and/or door width – based on wheelchair size.

Public Charters FAQ's

Is there a processing fee for using a credit card? We do not charge a processing fee for public cruises.

I need to cancel my cruise, what can I do? Please note that your tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you give us an advance notice (48 hours or more prior to your cruise departure), we are able to offer a one-time courtesy reschedule to another available cruise date up to six months from the date of your original purchase. If you miss your cruise, we will not be able to issue a refund or reschedule your cruise.

Can I bring a birthday cake on board? The Boardwalk FantaSea welcomes guests to bring a small cake on board for their group to enjoy. Please be sure to notify the sales team of any celebration upon reservation as we may be able to offer you special services for special occasions such as cakes, champagne flutes, boarding photos and upgraded wines by the bottle or and even over night accommodations at the Boardwalk Inn Hotel.

What is the standard dress attire? Dinner Cruises: Usually business casual or dressy casual attire. For special occasions such as New Year's and Mother's Day guests usually dress more formally; suit jackets and cocktail attire.

Do you offer Gift Cards? Yes! Landry's, Inc. Gift Cards are accepted for public cruises on the Boardwalk FantaSea. These gift cards are valid at over 200 Landry's, Inc. locations nationwide! You may order a Landry's, Inc. Gift Card online by following this link: Landry's Gift Card.

Is there pre-assigned seating? Depending upon capacity of individual trips, our crew will either allow open "cruise ship" style seating or have an assigned seating arrangement. "Cruise ship" style seating can be described as such; tables ranging in size from 4 guests to 10 guests will accommodate parties of multiple sizes. Guests from one party may be sat with guests from another party at one table.

The 23.77m/78' motor yacht 'FantaSea' was built by Burger in the United States. She was last refitted in 2008.

Guest Accommodation

FantaSea has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 4 guests in 2 suites. She is also capable of carrying up to 2 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Range & Performance

Built with a aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure, with grp decks, she benefits from a semi-displacement hull to provide exceptional seakeeping and impressive speeds. Powered by twin diesel Detroit Diesel (8V71N) 350hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 12 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 16 knots. Her low draft of 1.37m/4'6" makes her primed for accessing shallow areas and cruising close to the shorelines. Her water tanks store around 1,893 Litres of fresh water.

How many guests can she hold?

With her 4 decks, FantaSea One can hold up to 250 guests for cocktails and 220 guests for a seated event.

Will I get sea sick?

Not likely.  We cruise the very tranquil waters of Marina del Rey, the largest man-made harbor in California.  Traveling at just about 3 knots, you will find your FantaSea One cruise very comfortable.

Where is Marina del Rey?

Nestled along the coast on L.A.’s Westside, we are perfectly located just minutes from LAX, Venice, Santa Monica, Playa del Rey and Downtown.

How soon should I book?

ASAP! Dates fill quickly sometimes even a year plus in advance and we are not able to hold dates without a deposit and signed contract.

Can guests come and go?

Not typically. While we can certainly re-dock for emergencies, once we leave the dock, we do cruise until the end of the event.  However, we are always happy to stay at the dock longer or return early.  The yacht is yours, you tell us when you want to cruise.

How late can we stay out?

We can stay out as late as 12 a.m.

Are there any local hotels?

Certainly! We are within walking distance of 4 hotels and several more with just a short drive. Not only a superb location for boats rental in Marina del Rey , we are centrally located within the harbor.

What happens if it rains?

Each of our venues has ample interior space to host the entire party inside, so rain is not a problem at all.   In fact, some of our best parties have been when it is raining.  

Are children allowed?

Certainly! If you are comfortable having children on board, we are happy to have them. There are no age restrictions.

Are pets allowed?

We are happy to allow service pets, but do not permit any other animals on board.

Do I need to wear a life vest?

You do not need to wear a life vest while aboard one of our yachts; they are for emergency use only.

Can I bring my own vendors?

You certainly can! We do have a resource list with our favorite vendors including DJ’s and Photographers, but we also welcome your personal vendors aboard our yachts.

Can I bring my own catering?

While FantaSea prefers to be your first choice in catering, we understand the dietary restrictions of certain cultures that we are not able to meet in house.  We are happy to work with your caterer in these instances.

Where do I park?

Marina del Rey has several Los Angeles County public parking lots close to our yachts.  They are operated by an automated gate. Rates vary based on the season. As there are numerous docks from which to embark, please confirm the address for your invitations and guests with your Event Producer.

Can I use your pictures on my invitations?

Yacht pictures may be used with our pleasure. However, we do need to see a proof so we can authorize before going to print.

How much does it cost?

There are three primary costs for all events: (1) facility fee; (2) labor and  service; and (3) food and beverage selections.  We pride ourselves in being able to customize your package for you and can certainly do our best to work with a budget.

May we order special meals (vegetarian, kosher, etc…)?

Yes, but please notify us as soon as possible and we will do our best to make arrangements.

Do you do food tastings?

No. Unfortunately, due to our small staff, we cannot do food tastings.

Are we permitted to provide our own alcohol, or have it donated?

Though you are not allowed to provide your own hard alcohol, you can certainly bring in your own wine and champagne selections for a corkage fee.

Do you charge a gratuity?

No. Gratuities may be accepted by the waitstaff, but we do not add a gratuity to the bill.

Do you have background music available?

Yes, each of our venues comes with a house sound system; you are more than welcome to provide your own CDs or an iPod.

How long can an event last?

Typically our events last 4 hours, but we can certainly can adjust for more or less time depending on the needs of your event.
