A Travel Guide to Baia Sardinia and the Emerald Coast

yacht baia sardinia

Baia Sardinia is a well-known beach resort on the Gulf of Arzachena, near the famed Emerald Coast or Costa Smeraldo , on Sardinia's northeastern coast. It's a relatively small resort, home to just a few hundred residents. The village has grown as the popularity of the Emerald Coast has increased. In line with the regional growth, Baia Sardinia is composed mostly of hotels and villa complexes alongside shops, bars, and restaurants, all centered around a small square close to the beach and bay.

Bays, coves, and beaches are home to crystal clear, blue waters and clean white sand. The beaches are well known for scuba diving and the bay's ideal position makes it perfect for water sports and activities such as sailing and windsurfing due to the good winds, waves, and currents suitable for water-based activities.

The surrounding area of Costa Smeralda has a reputation for lively nightlife and is home to luxury hotels, clubs, and restaurants. Phi beach is particularly popular with visitors looking for a party destination. However, the surrounding areas of Baia Sardinia are also home to many quieter attractions and it is a suitable location for holidaymakers looking for a relaxing environment.

Baia Sardinia Beaches

Numerous beaches lie within close traveling distance to Baia Sardinia, making it an ideal destination for a beach holiday. Pevero Beach, 6km from Baia Sardinia, has a shallow sea-bed which makes it ideal for visiting with children, as well as fine white sands and clear blue waters.

Another popular beach in the area is Phi beach, home to many well-regarded restaurants and beach-side bars, known for their grilled seafood and Mediterranean dishes, and famous clubs such as Billionaire . Phi beach is in front of an 18th-century naval fortress.

What to See and Do Near Baia Sardinia

  • Costa Smeralda (Emerald Coast) is a well-known beach resort which is 55km long. This coastal area boasts a golf club as well as private jet and helicopter services. It's popular for sailing and the Sardinia Cup sailing regatta is held here in July. The area also boasts a number of archaeological sites such as Li Muri Tomba dei Giganti , or Giant's tomb, which is worth a visit.
  • Porto Cervo. 4km away from Baia Sardinia, is a well-known destination for luxury holidays in Sardinia. The town's main square is lined with restaurants, shops, hotels, and clubs. Porto Cervo port is one of the best equipped in the Mediterranean and has 700 berths for vessels, making the Marina an ideal spot to spend an afternoon watching the celebrity-owned yachts and boats passing by. Porto Cervo has been home to famous sailing events such as the Sardinia Cup, the Swan Cup, the Veteran Boat Rally and the Maxi Yacht Rolex. The area has an opulent and luxurious reputation, attracting many celebrities to its prestigious clubs and luxury hotel resorts. For examples, see Porto Cervo luxury hotels .
  • La Maddalena Archipelago National Park is a group of islands that make up a geomarine park on Sardinia's northern coast, in the protected stretch of sea between Corsica and Sardinia known as Bocche di Bonifacio . This area is home to a large array of wildlife and is protected to preserve the habitats and creatures. It has been deemed a Site of Community Importance and Special Protection Area .
  • Aquadream Water Park , the first water park in Sardinia, has been constantly growing since its opening in 1987. The park spans 3 hectares and features water slides, a gaming area and a relaxation area with more than 1,000 chaise lounges and sun umbrellas, an ideal place for parents to pass the time while children enjoy the water slides. The park is very close to Baia Sardinia.

How to get to Baia Sardinia

The closest airport to Baia Sardinia is Costa Smeralda Airport in Olbia, about 35 kilometers away (see Italy Airports Map ). The airport is served by several budget airlines with flights from Italian airports and a few European airports. Baia Sardinia can also be reached from Alghero Airport, 155km away, however, the drive takes about two and a half hours.

Olbia is also a ferry port connecting with ports of Genoa, Livorno, and Civitavecchia on mainland Italy's west coast.

If you are visiting Baia Sardinia by car from another part of the island, it is best reached by the SS131 road from Sardinia's east coast. When visiting Baia Sardinia and surrounding areas it is best to rent a car so you can visit the many bays and beaches close by and take day trips to local attractions such as the area's conservation zones and wildlife parks. You may find a reasonably priced rental car when you arrive but it is best to book in advance to ensure availability.

The optimal times for yacht charters in Sardina’s turquoise-clear waters are the shoulder months of May/June and September/October. During this time, you can still enjoy beautiful warm weather, with the later months offering the warmest swimming temperatures. Sardinia’s peak season is July and August, so expect both higher charter fees and packed marinas in these months.

Colorful houses in Porto Cervo in Sardinia, Italy

Most Sardinia yacht charters begin in the popular superyacht marina of Porto Cervo in the north west of the island or nearby Porto Rotondo, a slightly quieter marina compared to its illustrious neighbor. After a short stay here, popular charter itineraries tend to make a beeline north to the beautiful Maddalena Islands where the yacht can spend a day or two in a pretty sheltered anchorage while you and your guests take to the Carribean-blue waters for a spot of diving and snorkeling.

From here, the world’s your oyster. Sardinia has numerous must-see destinations and you will be hard-pushed to fit them all in. From the lush archipelagos of the north to the wild, untamed beaches found in the south west of the island, and from the glamorous superyacht havens on the north east coast where you can indulge your every whim to the rich historical treasures found in the south, you’ll be spoiled for choice.

Another popular option is to set off from the Amalfi Coast on Italy’s mainland or Corsica in the north and then cruise down through the Bonifacio Strait. It’s simple enough to begin your superyacht vacation in a neighboring country before heading to Sardinia. For more advice please speak to your yacht charter broker .

Sample itineraries

Most yacht charters tend to finish in Porto Cervo or Porto Rotondo. As well as the vibrant superyacht lifestyle, these places also offer their own bevy of beautiful beaches and scenic beauty, making these the perfect spots to end your memorable Sardina luxury yacht charter. Alternatively, for longer charters you can finish up in one of the neighboring destinations mentioned above. Speak with your yacht charter broker who can advise you further.

  • Cala Luna - A beautiful curve of sand with magical caves and astonishing clear blue waters abound in this paradisiacal setting. It does get busy in the peak summer months, but after 7pm all the crowds depart, leaving a stunning anchorage to park the yacht and watch the setting sun, cocktail in hand.
  • Passagio della Pelosa - Often likened to a lagoon, this beautiful sheltered cove is considered by some as one of the best anchorages in the Mediterranean, where charterers will be dazzled by the Caribbean-blue waters reflecting the sandy seabed below. This anchorage is an ideal jumping off point to the protected marine reserve of Stintino, with convenient restaurants and shops located nearby in the village and marina.
  • Porto Liscia - A pretty peninsula of golden sand beach with cobalt-blue waters and scenic views. The anchorage is well protected and is a popular hangout for superyachts, which means it can get busy.
  • Spiaggia di Campulongu - Situated on Sardinia’s south coast, a short hop from Cagliari, this anchorage offers a beautiful calm bay with lots of space and clear waters, perfect for swimming and snorkeling from the back of the yacht. There is a convenient marina close by with all the usual amenities, as well as a short walk into town.

With its A-lister appeal, rich cultural history and bevy of world-class beaches, Sardinia is one of the most popular destinations in the Mediterranean. Therefore, we advise you to book your yacht charter well in advance of your trip to secure your perfect yacht on your preferred dates. If you leave it too late, the selection of yachts at your disposal will be reduced and you may not be able to explore the destinations you have your heart set on. Plus, finding dates when everyone in your charter party is available can be tricky; the longer you leave it, the more challenging it will be.

High cliffs of Mediterranean coast, "Pan di Zucchero" stack rock in Masua, west coast of Sardinia, Italy. Concali su terrainu a limestone formation in southern Sardinia, Italy.

Your yacht charter broker will also need plenty of time to tailor an itinerary to suit you, and enough time to book ahead for the nights you wish to spend in marinas. We recommend booking up to 3 months in advance to give your broker the optimum time to organize everything down to the last detail.

Sardinia Yacht Charter Q&A

Some important things to consider before booking your yacht;

  • Marinas tend to get quite busy during peak summer months, so you need to consider that when deciding on what night's you wish to spend in a slip. Ideally, find a yacht that is comfortable with ample leisure and entertainment facilities onboard.
  • Mistrals are quite common during the shoulder months of May and October, so check with your charter broker about the best anchorages and itineraries if you intend on traveling during these months.
  • You should also be aware that certain zones in Sardinia's waters are restricted to protect the sea grass, which may impact on where you anchor the yacht. This is something you can discuss with your yacht broker, or yacht captain when deciding on your itinerary.

Due to its popularity during the Mediterranean Season, there should be a wide selection of yachts to choose from, so there is sure to be something that suits both you and your budget.

Why not visit our yacht charter fleet page for a comprehensive look at all yachts available for charter around Sardinia .

Alternatively, you can reach out to your preferred yacht broker , who will be sure to help you find your perfect yacht and itinerary around the dates that suit both you and your guests.

The optimum time for yacht charters in Sardinia is between June and September, with average temperatures in the mid to high 20s, clear blue seas and endless days of glorious sunshine.

You should note that Sardinia's peak season is in July and August, so expect both higher charter fees and crowded marinas during these months.

Most Sardinia yacht charters begin in the glamorous superyacht marina of Porto Cervo in the north west of the island, with popular charter itineraries including the breathtaking Maddalena archipelago, the pretty sheltered anchorages and charming villages found along Sardinia's east coast  and the island's capital Cagliari, awash with historical treasures and rich cultural heritage.

The island is also renowned for its protected marine reserves and beautiful clear waters where snorkeling and diving are the favorite activities for yacht charters. where the yacht can spend a day or two in a pretty sheltered anchorage while you and your guests take to the Carribean-blue waters for a spot of diving and snorkeling.

Another option is to begin your yacht charter on Italy's west coast only a short hop across the Tyrrhenian Sea. Alternatively, charters can begin on the spellbindingly rugged island of Croatia in the north, separated only by a narrow strait famed for its sailing.

Once you have decided on your perfect yacht, your yacht broker will then draw up the necessary contract; a legally binding agreement between you and the owner of the yacht. At this point, based on the type of contract, you will be required to pay 50% of the cost of the yacht up front, with an additional 25-30% of this base rate to cover additional expenses you and your guests are expected to incur whilst on charter.

For more information about the costs of chartering a yacht, please read our helpful guide: Yacht Charter Costs Explained , which describes the fee structure in more detail.

Where to sail to in Sardinia

You can explore the best of Sardinia in a week with a boat charter, with plenty more to see on return visits. Among the trip's highlights will be the Maddalena Archipelago, a group of islands resting off the coast of northern Sardinia, easily accessible from Porto Cervo. Here, Caprera Island itself is a must-see, as it is a natural reserve for wildlife, making for a peaceful spot to watch the waves and sunset surrounded by the sounds of nature. Next, be sure to visit Isola Budelli and Isola Spargi, two spectacularly beautiful islands and a great introduction to the region's famed tranquil beaches and diving possibilities.

To enjoy a longer sailing holiday, you must go for a Sardinia luxury yacht charter. You can rent with a small group and get a chef to also cook for you! This would make your Sardinia boat trip into a resort-like vacation with various sailing destinations.

Some must-see beautiful beaches in Sardinia include Cala Brandinchi, Spiaggia di Tuerredda, Spiaggia della Speranza, and Spiaggia Capriccioli. Some of these beaches are rocky while others are sand-based. Spiaggia di Tuerredda is one of the best snorkeling areas on the islands as well as Spiaggia Capriccioli.

While in Sardinia, on top of taking private boat tours, you can also partake in water sports, taste delicious Italian food, and explore the bluest blue sea that will leave you dying for more. So what are you waiting for?

When is the best time to go?

Sardinia has a perfect Mediterranean climate with long and warm summers and mild winters. It is also considered to be a bit windy island, which is great for sailing. In the north of the island, the temperatures are more extreme than in the south.

Baja Sardinia

Baja Sardinia is the capital of entertainment in Costa Smeralda, and one of the most famous seaside towns, thanks to its tourist services, beaches, clubs and discos that liven up the summer nights.

Included in the municipality of Arzachena, Baia Sardinia occupies a strategic location, just a few minutes away from the most famous destinations in Northern Sardinia, such as Porto Cervo and Palau. The town developed in the 60’s, after the tourist boom of Costa Smeralda, thanks to the initiative of the Gentili family; Baia Sardinia was once known as ‘Battistoni’, because it was built around Cala Battistoni beach.

Archeological excursions, entertainment, water sports, relaxation: Baja Sardinia, with its wide range of tourist attractions, represents one of the most sought after destinations on the island.

Things to see in Baja Sardinia

Baja Sardinia

Being a seaside locality, Baja Sardinia is considered a paradise for water sports.

Its beaches are exposed to several winds and currents that attract surfers and sail boat enthusiasts. Baia Sardinia also has numerous diving centers to guide tourists through the discovery of the sea bottoms of the Gallura region. A number of different diving excursions to satisfy all needs, from beginners to expert divers, also thanks to the conservation and protection works done all along the coast.

If you choose to spend your holidays in Baia Sardinia, don’t forget to visit the Park of the Maddalena Archipelago easily accessible by boat thanks to the numerous tours and ferries that depart every day from Baia Sardinia. A tour of pristine landscapes, natural reserves, pine forests and heavenly beaches, making the archipelago a place of indescribable beauty.

Baia Sardinia features one of the best tourist attractions of the area, the Acquadream water park , perfect for families, where you can have fun with the slides and relax at the big jacuzzi pools. In the evening lots of entertainment with the numerous bars, disco-pubs and nightclubs. The historic disco ‘Ritual’ is located in fact in Baia Sardinia, one of the most famous in Costa Smeralda, especially for its architecture that resembles that of a castle.

Baja Sardinia

From Baia Sardinia you can easily reach the historical sites and natural attractions of the area.

Located only 7 km away, we definitely recommend a visit to the heart of Costa Smeralda, the town of Porto Cervo, with its boutiques, the colorful alleys and the tourist harbor full of yachts with celebrities and VIPs.

Near Baia Sardinia is also the ‘Paduli Saloni natural oasis’ , a 30 hectares freshwater pond, in front of the gulf of Cannigione, rich in flora and fauna, including some rare species.

If you choose to delve into the Gallurese culture, a typical attraction are the Stazzi self sufficient settlements of farmers and shepherds created between the 1600’s and 1700’s, where you can try the local gastronomy and experience the Gallurese hospitality.

And this is not all, Northern Sardinia and the Arzachena area in particular, offer a wide range of archeological itineraries inside a park consisting of 8 sites, between Tombs of Giants and Nuraghes. Around Baia Sardinia, for example, you can visit the Prisgiona Nuragic complex, in the locality of Capichera, only 19 km away.

The best beaches in Baja Sardinia

Baja Sardinia

The coast of Baia Sardinia includes several big beaches or hidden coves, all with crystal clear waters, some public, some equipped with facilities.

Cala Battistoni

Cala Battistoni is the beach around which Baia Sardinia was born. A comfortable beach equipped with facilities. Thanks to tiny granite rocks it takes on a reddish hue that seems even brighter against the sea.

Cala dei Ginepri

Cala dei Ginepri beach is located on the provincial road Cannigione-Baja Sardinia. It is a small cove overlooking the gulf of Arzachena, perfect for those who love privacy and silence.

Situated in the locality of the same name, in the municipality of Arzachena. A small cove with a shallow and sandy bottom, suitable for children, and with a small dock. It is especially popular among windsurfing and diving enthusiasts. Cala Bitta is equipped with several facilities and it is possible to rent beach umbrellas, loungers and paddle boats.

Porto Sole beach is located towards the edge of Forte Cappellini. It is a big beach on the gulf of Arzachena, easily accessible from the parking lot via a pathway.

Restaurants in Sardinia

As the island of Sardinia is part of Italy, the leading cuisine on this part of the Mediterranean is definitely Italian food - alongside some dishes that are specific for the island of Sardinia.

Casual dining in Sardinia:

Pizzajò Pirri : As the name suggests, this is a pizzeria in Cagliari. Recommended by many Italian tourists, this budget-friendly restaurant should be on your bucket list for a mouthwatering pizza in Sardinia.

Sardigna Street Food is a cute little food truck located in Villasimius. Fresh food and the enthusiastic owners make this place an absolute MUST on your trip to Sardinia. Try the highly praised burger.

Beach restaurants in Sardinia:

Il Paguro : Is there anything better than sailing all day long and entering a restaurant with the most stunning view for dinner? Sailing around the Maddalena Archipelago can be fun, but exhausting. Come to Il Paguro for a delicious dinner accompanied by fabulous wine. The restaurant is located right next to the beach.

Tanit : Not exactly located at the beach, but next to the Poltu Quatu marina, Tanit will particularly charm you with their excellent local fish dishes. Where else could you find fresher fish than in a restaurant located right next to the source?

Fine dining in Sardinia:

Gusto by Sadler in San Teodoro is a Michelin Star restaurant that is famous for its Mediterranean cuisine with a light and modern touch. This restaurant will charm you with its simple, but elegant style. Try one of the selected fishes for a culinary experience you will never forget.

Le Terrazze Ritual is a rooftop bar in Costa Smeralda located in between carved rocks and historical ruins. Surrounded by waterfalls and offering the most stunning view, visiting this unique bar will be a once in a lifetime experience.

Phi Beach – Baia Sardinia : This stunning place offers a pool right in the middle of its outdoor seating as well as an incredible view overlooking Sardinia.

Explore historical Sardinia

Sardinia is an island full of history. Visit historical Alghero for your history fix. It is Sardinia’s fifth largest city and comes with an interesting history. The Genoese founded the city around the 11th century as a simple fishing village, but were quickly invaded by the Pisans and the Catalans due its strategically important location. The house of Savoy conquered the city in 1720. Walking around the historical streets gives you a glimpse into the life of former times. If you want to discover more of Sardinia’s older history, you can take a trip to discover evidence of life during prehistoric times on the island or simply visit the Archaeological Museum of Cagliari .

Discover mystical Sardinia

Myths and legends might not be the first things that come to mind when thinking about Sardinia, but there are more than you think! There are multiple legends surrounding giants inhabiting the island in prehistoric times. When the Mont’e Prama Giants statues were found, people’s imaginations went wild. When they were discovered in 1974 not much was known about Sardinia’s prehistoric inhabitants, so naturally people do what they do when trying to find a suitable explanation for something unexplainable. They imagine what could have been with evidence that is right in front of them.

Sailing conditions in Sardinia

Sailing holidays in Sardinia are amazing, not only because there are at least 300 days of sunshine a year and top-notch mooring facilities, but because the conditions for sailing are ideal. It is suggested to plan your sailing holiday during April and May or September through October to enjoy optimal wind conditions and less crowds.

There are three prevailing winds in Sardinia : the ‘Mistral’, which blows from the north to the west coast; the cool and breezy west wind, which blows throughout the season; and the warm, dry ‘Scirocco’, which prevails in the eastern part of the island.

Between June and August, wind velocity does not usually exceed 25 knots and averages around 8-20 knots. During peak season, it is advisable to reserve berths in advance. Be careful of dead seaweed and rocks while navigating Golfo Brandichi .

How much does it cost to rent a boat in Sardinia?

Sardinia is not an expensive location to rent a boat, although prices can increase a bit during peak season. On average it costs only around 50 EUR per person per day to rent a gulet, 58 EUR per person per day to rent a sailboat and around 40 EUR to rent a RIB per person per day. If you’re looking at renting a speedboat, you will need to keep in mind that it will cost you an average of 70 EUR per person per day in Italy. If you are looking at renting a catamaran or a motorboat in Italy, it will be more expensive, but won’t break your bank. On average it will cost you 150 EUR to rent a motorboat per person per day and 140 EUR to rent a catamaran per person per day.

What type of boat is best for sailing in Sardinia?

Looking at speeding from beach to beach? Want to anchor in the most stunning bays to sunbathe all day long? Craving a boat holiday with the amenities of a luxurious hotel? The boats you will be looking at are very different from each other, depending on the type of holiday you want to experience.

Rent a catamaran in Sardinia

Pros of renting a catamaran in Sardinia

Renting a catamaran in Sardinia comes with many advantages. As the island is blessed with many hidden bays and beaches, you will most definitely want to explore them all and anchor as close as possible to the coast. Thankfully the shallow draft of catamarans allows you to do that! Hop into the water and swim to the most stunning beaches without using all your energy to get there. If you are looking at renting a more luxurious type of boat for your sailing vacation in Italy, a catamaran may be the perfect water vessel for you as a lot of them come with many amenities you can find in a hotel as well, kind of like a hotel room on water.

Cons of renting a catamaran in Sardinia

As catamarans are relatively spacious, this also means that they take up a lot of space when mooring at a marina. This can come with higher prices for mooring compared to other types of boats.

Rent a Catamaran in Sardinia

Rent a sailboat in Sardinia

Pros of renting a sailboat in Sardinia

Renting a sailboat in Sardinia is the perfect option for you if you plan on enjoying the experience of sailing in the Mediterranean. The winds in Sardinia are definitely ideal to sail around the island. Another advantage is the fact that you don’t need to calculate extra costs for fuel as your engine is coming from a natural source.

Cons of renting a sailboat in Sardinia

One of the downsides of renting a sailboat in Sardinia is the fact that sailboats come with a keel that is not ideal for shallow waters. If you’re looking at stopping by some of the most stunning remote beaches in Sardinia, you might be able to enjoy them only from a distance. While the wind might be unpredictable at times, meaning that you might not be able to move forward for a couple of hours on end, this part of the Mediterranean is generally known for its ideal sailing conditions. It is just something you should keep in mind when renting a sailboat in Sardinia for a vacation that might only last a week or two.

Rent a Sailboat in Sardinia

Rent a motorboat in Sardinia

Pros of renting a motorboat in Sardinia

Hiring a motorboat in Sardinia is definitely a more luxury option than renting another type of boat. The speed of a motorboat means that you will be able to see more of Sardinia’s stunning remote beaches and overall beautiful coastline that is surrounded by turquoise waters and unique rock formations.

Cons of renting a motorboat in Sardinia

A disadvantage of renting a motorboat in Sardinia and attempting to see everything as fast as possible means that you have to calculate with high additional costs in relation to the fuel. The high speed comes with a price tag.

Rent a Motorboat in Sardinia

Rent a gulet in Sardinia

A gulet is the type of boat that makes the hearts of adventurers beat faster. You can sail alongside the strong winds of the Mediterranean where the experience matters more than the destination.

Pros of renting a gulet in Sardinia

Guets are not just the type of boat you rent to go on an amazing adventure in Sardinia, they are also the type of water vessel that you would rent when travelling with a larger group of people. Generally fitting between ten to fifteen people on board, some gulets even allow for more people to come on board. Believe us, this is THE ideal bonding experience with your friends - and you will have the best parties on deck!

Cons of renting a gulet in Sardinia

Renting a gulet is certainly not for everyone. The relatively small rooms that you would stay in can make you feel very claustrophobic. And if you do have a boat licence, but have never maneuvered a gulet before, it might get you into trouble very soon if you end in more turbulent weather. Sailing off season and in rougher seas around Sardinia can definitely make this a very real possibility.

Rent a Gulet in Sardinia

Charter a luxury yacht in Sardinia

One of the most popular types of boats people look at renting in Sardinia are luxury yachts resembling hotel rooms where you don’t need to feel like you’re missing out on anything. These come at a higher price, but you will be able to enjoy all the amenities you could ask for. In Sardinia a luxury boat you might want to consider is most probably a catamaran or motorboat.

Rent a luxury Yacht in Sardinia

What kind of boat license do you need when renting a boat in Sardinia?

Before we establish what kind of boat licence you would need when chartering a boat in Sardinia, you need to know that you do need a boat licence when renting a yacht here. Residents of EU member states are lucky, because their boat licence will automatically be recognized here. If you are from outside of the EU, your safest bet is getting an International Certificate of Competency or short ICC that is recognised by the UN. In addition, you will need to present some kind of CV that details all your previous nautical experience.

Don’t worry if you are not in possession of a valid and recognized boat licence. You can always hire a skipper for your sailing vacation in Sardinia. Hiring a skipper with your boat rental also comes with the advantage of not having to worry about anything while sailing in Sardinia. Your skipper will take care of the sailing, of the route and tell you many interesting stories. If you have requests to stop somewhere, any good skipper will definitely ensure to fulfill your wishes.

Sailing routes in Sardinia

Portisco is an excellent base for a sailing holiday in Sardinia. Covering the Northeast area of Sardinia in the region of Olbia-Tempio , you’ll find many gorgeous beaches and resorts along Costa Smeralda , the Maddalena Archipelago and San Teodoro that are within short distance of Portisco.

From Portisco you can choose to either sail north to the Maddalena Archipelago or to sail down the southern coast of the island. The first option is a group of islands located between Sardinia and Corsica . Turquoise waters that make you feel as though you are in the Maldives. The latter option leads you down the main Sardinian island.

Your first stop should be the breathtaking marine sanctuary on the island of Tavolara . Admire its towering limestone cliffs from your boat rental. Here you’ll find the Parco Nazionale del Golfo di Orosei e del Gennargentu , Sardina’s largest national park.

From Golfo di Orisei you can make your way back up the course or spend a few more days sailing along the eastern coast as you make your way to Cagliari .

The coast on which the Resort is located is part of the splendid Protected Marine Area of Tavolara – Punta Coda Cavallo. The area covers an area of fifteen thousand hectares of sea and about forty kilometers of coastal territory, among the most beautiful in the Mediterranean. The island of Tavolara, 600 meters high, is the beating heart of the area that starts from Capo Ceraso and with a continuous succession of beaches, coves, islets and promontories, ends south of San Teodoro. Within 5 km of the resort there are at least ten beaches, one more beautiful than the other, the most famous are listed below:

Cala Brandinchi , the most famous and the most desired, nicknamed the small Tahiti for its shallow and emerald-colored waters, can also be reached on foot from the resort via a trekking path .

Lu Impostu,  reachable from two sides, crystal clear water and a fantastic white sand, adjacent to Cala Brandinchi, this beach can also be reached on foot with a trekking path, or by our shuttle.

Capo Coda Cavallo , breathtaking views of the islands of Molara and Tavolara, crystal clear waters, surrounded by nature and not far from the deserted island of Proratora, the destination of many yachts for its sheltered and panoramic position.

Porto Taverna , beautiful beach with all services, front view of the island of Tavolara, renowned for its nightlife and exceptional beach restaurants.

Cala Girgolu , slightly hidden, on its coast there are incredible coves and inlets such as the beach of the turtle and the flat stones, crowded with yachts and boats because of the calm waters and populated by fish.

La Cinta , 3 km of fantastic coastline, which from San Teodoro center reaches Puntaldia, the first part is very crowded, the kingdom of those looking for services and entertainment, as you move away towards Puntaldia it becomes an earthly paradise for lovers of nature and freedom. Reachable by our shuttle.

Do not miss all the other beaches of the marine protected area: Punta Molara , Salina Bamba , Baia Salinedda , Cala Suaraccia , Lastra Ruja, Cala d’Ambra and Isuledda, without forgetting the pools of Molara and the spectacular beaches of Tavolara, reachable only by sea.
