Aluminum Strength
With the up front caveat that there is no one “best” material to use when building a boat as they all have their own lists of pros and cons, when you set about building a boat to take on the extremes that Mother Nature can throw at you when crossing the world’s oceans “short handed” with just 1 or 2 people and doing so with the highest safety and comfort, the choice becomes more clear. As with many other choices when designing and building such a boat, this is an extremely personal decision and what counts the most is that YOU have the highest possible confidence in your choice and can set to sea knowing that your boat will be able to endure much more than you.
The reasons of choosing aluminium as your hull material
Fuel Efficiency
Fuel efficiency has become one of the most important subject for boat owners and sailors not only because of high expenses but also they pay attention to the environment and nature. Naval Yachts sees these facts and concentrates in new Technologies and engineered studies together with the technical universities and institutions to find and offer solutions.
We use aluminum. A superior material. Light and 100% recyclable. ( Aluminium Yachts )
We have hybrid solutions in powertrain. We have serial hybrid boats launched already with the latest technology.
We use light materials in interior. We make our calculations to reach a light but stable boat in the end.
We design and use the most efficient hull forms in order to get best results with minimum water resistance under the waterline.
Earth is a great planet to discover and experience on a boat. As long as you can. As the sailors would like to discover and see more places, they need enough speed, consume less and bigger fuel tanks.
Our boats can give the chance the sailors to cruise faster and longer without refueling.

Mission Safety / Safety First
At Naval Yachts, safety is our paramount mission. We prioritize safety first in every aspect of our aluminum yacht production. From design to construction, our unwavering commitment to ensuring the security and well-being of our passengers and crew is at the core of our values
Full Customisation
Naval Yachts is specialised in custom boat building. All our boats are unique and can not be repated because every owner has his own dream on board.
Thanks to our design and engineering team, we can make modifications easily and our experienced production and assemly team can produce and apply these modifications.
The reasons of choosing aluminium as your hull material;
- Extremely easy to work with using regularly available tools such as carbide tipped saws and router bits and to fabricate with readily available welding and bending equipment. CNC cutting with plasma, waterjet or laser works particularly well with aluminium which allows custom designs to be as affordably built as production boats with the dramatic savings in labour time and costs.
- On a like to like boat comparison aluminum boat hulls weigh about 30% less than steel and less weight means a more easily powered hull which pays us back in reduced fuel costs for the life of the boat.
- Our previous all steel sailboat taught us the valuable lesson that robustly built metal boats do not flex or move under the stress and strain of the seas and everything and everyone onboard benefits from boat parts that stay water tight because they don’t move and from the quiet of cabinetry that isn’t being flexed.
- eXtremely low exterior maintenance time and costs when left unpainted down to the waterline as we will do. Left unpainted, bare aluminium quickly forms a hard outer layer of aluminium oxide which prevents any corrosion which will be a major cost savings throughout the life of the boat.
- Highest strength to weight ratio of any boat building material other than composites.
- Future modifications or repairs of damaged parts of the hull can be easily done with either onboard equipment if you know how to weld or by pretty much any welders you will find in any country.
- While steel may have higher puncture resistance in some situations, aluminium is the most pliable and ductile of any other boat material meaning that when (never if) we hit something the aluminium will bend but not break or crack. By using gradually thicker aluminium hull plating from the 6mm we have on our decks to ultimately 16mm below the waterline and 25mm thick at the keel our hull will most likely see us through pretty much any scenario.
- Relatively easy to control corrosion or rot compared to steel, wood, fiberglass or composites.
- Aluminium is very “transparent” in terms of letting you see any damage that does exist as there is nothing which hides below the surface of unpainted aluminium.
- It varies somewhat between different world markets but aluminium boats tend to have a higher resale value than other materials because of all the advantages above.
We use aluminum. A superior material. Light and 100% recyclable.

LICIA C 24
Explorer power catamaran.
Experience Matters
Licia Yachts culls the best of our aggregate 30 years of knowledge, expertise and craftmanship in yacht design - building and sailing, in collaboration with Catamaran Center to develop and deliver a truly exceptional explorer power catamaran, the LICIA C24.
This power multihull will exhibit top performance with superlative comfort. And it will be capable of covering 3200 nautical miles on powerful and fuel efficient twin Cummins engines that will not only boast of economy and ease of handling while delivering 1410 HP. Carbon fiber reinforced structure and Aramid layered hull will provice peace of mind during ocean crossing.
Innovative interior layout and finishes will speak volumes not only about luxorious comfort but also give you the sense of being in a larger yacht.
One of the features of the Licia C24 is its enclosed flybridge with its state of the art, fully integrated wheelhouse console. As safety and ease of use are foremost among our priorities, you can rest assured that come hell or high waters, you reach your destination.
The LICIA C24 has been thoughtfully planned to provide comfort and function in all areas for Owners and guests. The simple joys of drinks or chasing sunsets by the wheelhouse or the bow were not afterthoughts when pen was put to paper.
An intuitive interior layout maximizes the sense of openness with curved aft deck sliding doors that make effortless transitioning between indoor and outdoor, formal and informal. A skylight on the flybridge also enhances the ambient light in the circular conversation hub in the main saloon as do the full height glazing and panoramic windows that bring in natural light and Voila! You’re transported elsewhere!
First Impressions Matter
Reflecting a contemporary elegance, interior finishes are done with leather tiled walls, light wood veneers and simple silhouttes that speak volumes of the subtly of luxe.
“Barrier-free" setting tends to the sense of openness and enhances functionality. It's a refreshing take on format-informal / indoor-outdoor. Interior finishes are done with leather paneled feature wall and wood veneers in earth/neutral tones to reflect a contemporary elegance.
Full height windows, light veneers and a laid back, barrier free setting that allows movement from bar to dining (that sits 8-10 easily) to the conversation area by the skylight shows exactly how intuitive the layout was considered. Form and function effortlessly combined.
A private sanctuary unlike any other in a catamaran of this size with its atypical arrangement and interior finishes. Luxe without the guilt. Think composite veneer on all wood trimmed fit-outs and plush, performance-driven coated fabrics on all soft surface areas. Eco-conscious and sustainable yet specified to ensure sophistication and lasting quality. The leather tiled walls continue the understated elegance of the main saloon into the privacy of your suite...
Well-appropriated and functional fit-outs for living aboard in your home away from home, this capsule is so thoughtfully considered it even provides for direct access to the bow. No more long traverses to the stern... ease of living always at the helm. Concealed lighting in recessed features and the floating bed give the illusion of lightness and space. Color choices reverberate same sense of openness and tranquility.
A ribbon of panoramic glass adds to the experience of being one with the sea. Full screen technology notwithstanding, all that ambient light. What more can one ask for when it comes to blurring the lines between inside and out?

5 Turkish Shipbuilders Making Waves in the Industry
The best yachts from shipbuilders in istanbul, turkey..
Istanbul, Turkey has a long history in global trade and shipbuilding as the city was once the capital of the Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman empires. Turkey is the bridge between Asia and Europe; and Istanbul lies in a strategic location on the shores of the Marmara Sea, the Golden Horn, and the Bosporus.
Over the (many) years, Turkish shipbuilding established an international reputation for producing technologically advanced boats largely credited to an experienced workforce. Today, shipbuilders such as Turquoise Yachts and Bilgin Yachts build some of the most impressive boats in the world.
In September 2021, Denison embarked on their annual shipyard tour in Europe. Past years took a team of yacht brokers to Italy , Germany , and Holland . This year, they visited Turkey, home to some of the most prestigious shipyards in the world. The tour helped Denison yacht brokers to gain a deeper understanding and first-hand experience of new products so they can recommend certain brands or models to clients.
Here are 5 Turkish shipbuilders making waves in the industry today.
Located in Gebze, Turkey, Numarine hosts an expansive production facility with the capacity to build up to 50 motor yachts per year. The shipbuilder employs dedicated in-house departments for glass, upholstery, cabinetry, and metalwork — bringing everything in-house allows Numarine to execute the innovation and build of each yacht to the highest quality. Plus added flexibility for customization .
Denison represents Numarine’s Explorer range of luxury motor yachts, which includes the 22XP, 26XP, 32XP, 37XP, and 45XP. Each model delivers unmatched performance and comfort for entertaining friends or family while cruising the world. Just look at the Numarine 32XP — it has one of the best sundecks and best beach clubs in her size category.
The Turkish shipyard is proving to be popular in North America. In the past 12 months, Alex Clarke sold Hulls #2 , #3 , #4 , and #5 of the Numarine 37XP .
Alpha Custom Yachts
Alpha Custom Yachts is the new kid on the block of Turkish shipyards. The boutique shipbuilder was founded by Roberto and Jorge Aboumrad in 2017. As experienced yachtsmen, the Abourmrad brothers noticed that traditional yacht designs did not always reflect the way the owner used the boat. So they partnered with experienced boat builders in Turkey and established Alpha Custom Yachts.
When Denison visited this new Turkish shipyard, the team was impressed with current builds under construction. What other shipbuilders have as options are considered standard features on all of Alpha’s offerings including heavy-duty deck gear, a pair of oversized pocket anchors, substantial stainless safety rails, and top-quality teak decks. David Johnson is the point of contact for Alpha Custom Yachts in North America .
Turquoise Yachts
Turquoise Yachts was established in 1997 by Proteksan Yachts Inc. and Turquoise Yacht Construction. The shipbuilder operates out of two yards on the outskirts of Istanbul. The shipyard in Pendik is used for interior outfitting, and the shipyard in Kocaeli is dedicated to steel and aluminum work. The innovative minds at Turquoise launched a floating dock to lift and transport yachts (up to 2500 tons) between the two yards during construction and outfitting.
An extraordinary example of a Turquoise yacht is QUANTUM OF SOLACE , a 238-foot superyacht valued at $60 million. It’s one of four yachts with a double-height atrium in the main salon. Just an example of the imagination and ingenuity coming from this Turkish shipyard.
Bilgin Yachts
Bilgin Yachts operates four shipyards throughout Istanbul to design and build custom superyachts. The Turkish shipyard employs over 400 highly-skilled craftsmen operating across its facilities so that about 90% of the manufacturing is completed in-house. Bilgin Yachts also operates its own marine stainless steel workshop and furniture design center that saves time and money during new builds.
During Denison’s shipyard tour of Bilgin Yachts, the team stepped on board the 80-meter superyacht TATIANA . She’s the first release in a series of three 80-meter superyachts under construction at Bilgin Yachts. TATIANA boasts a bullet-shaped bow and sporty profile complete with a two-level beach club, two pools, several bars, and a cinema.
Dunya Yachts
Dunya Yachts began as Ursa Shipyard in 1983. In 2005, current President Sedat Ergun transformed the shipyard into a powerhouse and renamed it Dunya (the Turkish word for “world”). Today, this Turkish shipyard completes new construction custom yachts up to 100 meters in length.
In 2013, Dunya launched an impressive 236-foot custom yacht called AXIOMA . Among the yacht’s many features are a two-story salon atrium, an owner’s deck with a private terrace, an infinity swimming pool, a gym, spa/steam room, and a 3D cinema. AXIOMA was listed with Denison for $80 million.
Video Highlights | Denison Shipyard Tour 2021
Every year, Denison completes a shipyard tour to learn more about specific brands, models, and products. This year, the team flew to Istanbul to be on the ground at some of the world’s biggest shipyards. Contact a Denison yacht broker to find your next Turkish-built yacht.

The construction of Dynamiq yachts is carried out in the Antalya Free Zone, Turkey, which is a government-protected area that benefits from a special tax regime lowering costs and hosts a cluster of high profile shipyards from both Turkey and the Netherlands. Dynamiq occupies the most modern and newest facility in the Free Zone, with 10,000 m 2 covered space and access to a 2,000 ton syncrolift for safe and easy launching. The sheds are well fitted out for building the full range of Dynamiq superyachts up to 65 meters in length. Various powertrain options are available including hybrid or diesel-electric technology.
The works are organized with international subcontractors from Germany, Austria and Italy, who team up with the best local craftsmen to achieve a level of quality in line with North European standards. WHY DYNAMIQ?
Forward thinking design, innovative naval architecture, highest engineering standards, top-quality steel & aluminium construction, ocean-going range, smart pricing.
Dynamiq's unique exteriors look impressive and fresh and express the sporty, chic soul of our yachts. They not only look great, but also perform at the top of their class and lend owners a sense of exclusivity and pride.
Dynamiq’s high efficiency is based on innovative technologies in modern naval architecture: fast displacement hull lines, the Hull Vane under the stern, and Sleipner curved fin stabilizers. Completely drawn by leading naval architects in the Netherlands, all Dynamiq yachts feature a round-bilge shape for remarkably low resistance and low fuel consumption, while providing seaworthiness and comfort with long waterline length and low centre of gravity.
Each Dynamiq yacht is by definition safe, comfortable and environmentally friendly in accordance with the strictest RINA and BV Commercial Class standards, prestigious Comfort and Green Star Plus notations, Large Yacht Code 4 (LY4) compliancy and manning standards. This not only makes our vessels ultra-safe and almost silent, but also means they can be chartered to offset the cost of ownership.
Only certified marine-grade steel, aluminium and Sealium are used for Dynamiq hulls and superstructures. In comparison with composite hulls, they are much quieter, easier to repair and have higher trade-in value due to the fact that they have a very long service life.
Dynamiq yachts are designed with an ocean-going capability in mind, which means owners have the opportunity to enjoy multiple seasons during the year (say Mediterranean and Caribbean) and visit remote locations with no re-fueling infrastructure. Equipped with high-capacity marine fridges and freezers, cold garbage stores, separate laundry facilities, plenty of storage space, generous fresh water tanks and powerful water-makers, Dynamiq yachts provide autonomy at sea in complete comfort.
Combining Dutch engineering with production facilities in the one of the biggest Turkish shipbuilding hubs of Antalya Free Zone means Dynamiq can offer North European standards and quality craftsmanship at significantly reduced prices. Being pioneers in the superyacht industry, Dynamiq also has an Online Configurator where clients can customize their yachts in a few clicks and see in real time how the price and delivery times vary.

Gulet Construction
Completely tailor-made, unique...
The headquarter of our company is in Bodrum where the highest quality and the best wooden yachts of the World are produced. Moreover, our branches and agencies that are near Bozburun region which has recently made a name for itself in the wooden yacht construction, use the advantage of our location for our customers who demand a new yacht production, in the best way they can.
We would like to express that, as a company, we will provide the highest level of professional support for the construction of the yacht of your dreams.
As soon as you contact us for the construction of a new yacht, we will start a process that is completely carried out systematically in the light of our previous experience and that is difficult but produces a beautiful result.
First of all you need to decide on the purpose of the yacht you wish to get constructed. Do you want a commercial wooden yacht, or are you looking for a high level of comfort for your family and guests or a sail fanatic? It is possible to add further details to these criteria and produce a lot more different alternatives that are out of ordinary. After having made our decision on this subject, by agreeing upon the necessary technical details, budget and time planning we can start the gulet construction process.
But we would like to especially state that construction of a new yacht is a long process that demands patience. Moreover the budget is relative in direct proportion to the materials and equipment. Therefore, before going for the agreement process, we recommend you to specify all the possible details and write them down.
Planning and Project Design
When we compare the custom production yachts with the mass production yachts, their most characteristic feature that comes to the forefront is that they are all unique. However much the appearance of the wooden gulets look similar, their technical features, the equipment used, furniture, decoration and the floorings are different from one another.
In line with your opinions, the process starts with the drawing of the architectural draft project by our company. Of course everything should be as you imagined but if some technical issues are not possible; our engineers will guide you as needed. It shouldn`t be forgotten that the technical performance and safety of a yacht is at least as important as its decoration and appearance.
Our engineer presents you the three dimensional drawings showing the outer appearance of the yacht by including the details about the power, comfort, mechanics, motor and electricity. This work can continue for a few days until an agreement is reached and if necessary your architect can present you new drawings again and again. Thanks to this, by calculating the fine details before the production, the errors that may occur during the production process are prevented.
By presenting you multiple architecture alternatives during this process, our company will make a contract with the architect whom you decided on.
Contract and Starting the Construction
After this step, a representation agreement will be signed between you and our company for the construction and the other legal procedures. During the construction process, tracking and the responsibility of the matters such as ensuring that the material that is used is not other than that was contracted, that the production is completed within the period that was promised, will be under our company`s control.
As long as the production continues, even if you are in another city or country, our company will present you the progress with photographs from time to time and will allow you to track all the progress.
Yacht production is a long and difficult process that cannot be explained in a few sentences. To have more detailed information about this, please don`t hesitate to contact us.

W e are a company set up by two naval architects in Istanbul, Turkey. Our main objective is to design and build yachts of highest calibre. We also are marketing boatbuilding products of well known brands. As we are using these quality products, we are extendending our experience and expertise to our customers.
The Taka Team is comprised of naval architects, an architect, an industrial designer, a technical drafts person, boat builders.
CUSTOM YACHT BUILDING
We at Taka are capable of designing a wide range of vessels as can be see in the pages of our site. Materials which we can use in the structures are wood-epoxy, composites, steel, and aluminum. We are used to working with class authorities (like ABS, LR, TL, RINA, etc.) and CE rules. According to the intended flag, MCA is also within our design and know-how capabilities.
As we are builders ourselves, our details are developed to the spesific requirements of the selected builders.
Osman Tanju Kalaycıoğlu
We handle a design project in two parts: Preliminary and Contract. In the Preliminary Stage, we will be contracted to develop a concept from the customer’s original brief. Once these initial studies reach a satisfactory concept, builder possibilities and cost estimates can be sought for. If and when the client decide to go ahead with the build, we will sign a yacht design contract which details our services, list of drawings and documents to be produced, fees, payments, royalties for repeat builds, etc.
Our tailor like approach to each project enables us to be flexible according to the customer’s wishes. Hence for the building of yacht we can provide a minimum of control and consultancy or we can deliver the complete vessel on a turnkey basis.
We refer to build one-off projects up to 100 feet (30 meters) in wood-epoxy. When weight is not very important steel becomes the obvious choice above 65 feet (20 meters). Also we are developing new building projects utilizing composites ranging from plain GRP to sandwich structures with poliproplene honeycromb or Core-cell, cores and multiaxial fabrics. Full range of resin systems are also used in our projects. We use special composites including carbon reinforcements extensively for components of our boats: masts, superstructures, hatch covers, passarelles and bulkheads.
