Hakvoort Yachts for Sale

Situated in the quaint historic city of Monnickendam, on the shores of the IJsselmeer lake about eight miles north of Amsterdam, the Hakvoort shipyard has a century of shipbuilding excellence to its name.

Hakvoort builds motor and sailing yachts up to 215 feet (65m) in length, and also has purpose-built facilities for handling major refits. The shipyard is comprised of two enclosed, temperature-controlled docking and construction halls and there is also a metal workshop, office complex and a large quayside operation.

The inherent quality of a Hakvoort-built vessel has helped make the yard a leading name in the marine industry.

Hakvoort offers both full and semi-custom superyacht options, and the yard also operates its own joinery workshops, Unlimited Interiors. The skills of the team at Unlimited Interiors are available on a sub-contractual basis to other yards as well as Hakvoort.

The yard has remained in family hands, passing down from father to son several times, and this creates an immense atmosphere of personal dedication and community at the shipyard.

History of Hakvoort Yachts

Monnickendam, the home of Hakvoort Shipyard, owes its name to the monks who built a dam there back in the 12th century. Monnickendam was granted city rights in 1355 and by the 1600s had become a prominent port with the shipping industry and related trade flourishing.

In 1919, the entrepreneur Albert Klzn Hakvoort purchased a shipyard that had launched its first vessel over a century before, back in 1780. Albert lay the foundations of a thriving business that restored an industry of shipbuilding to the Dutch city of Monnickendam.

The earliest constructions at the Hakvoort yard were fishing boats and over time they began to build pleasure yachts as the marine leisure market grew.

The yard has continued to remain in family hands throughout the decades, passing from father to son across several generations.

The Hakvoort shipyard has been the recipient of many industry awards and accolades over the years, with numerous vessels earning recognition for their aesthetic and technical qualities. An enviable list of repeat owners is also testament to the yard’s abilities and industry positioning.

The Hakvoort shipyard can now boast an impressive back catalogue and a global reputation for building exceptional superyachts for generations of yacht owners.

The Hakvoort collection

Hakvoort’s first custom superyacht build came in the guise of TONGA in 1985. This 103-foot (31.35m) motor yacht was designed by Pieter Beeldsnijder Design and was built to Lloyds Classification. TONGA had a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure.

The most recent superyacht to be launched from Hakvoort is the 210-foot (63.7m) SCOUT. SCOUT is the largest yacht in the Hakvoort fleet to date and was delivered in 2019. The superyacht features interior and exterior design by H2 Yacht Design and Diana Yacht Design were responsible for the naval architecture.

In addition to a dedicated owner’s deck, SCOUT accommodates eight guests across four staterooms. The hull has a high bow with cut-down bulwarks to expose the tenders. The exterior design has a trawler-like aesthetic, accentuated by integrated forward-sloping windows. Amongst some of SCOUT’s notable features are a helideck, and an expansive sun deck with a large Jacuzzi.

Hakvoort successfully launch 61m superyacht Project Asia

The Dutch city of Monnickendam witnessed a majestic launch over the weekend as 61m (200ft) Project Asia launched at the esteemed Hakvoort Shipyard , signaling the final outfitting stages before she sets sail to embrace the warmth of sunnier seas in the Mediterranean in the next few months.

Sporting premium levels of luxury and exceptional performance, Project Asia can embark on indulgent voyages of nearly 4,000 nautical miles, making her the perfect choice for long-distance adventures or extended cruises around yacht charter destination favorites like Croatia and the Balearics . Flying the American flag, she was last seen in May 2021 when she made her journey to Royal Hakvoort from the builder's subcontractor for hull and superstructure fabrication.

Also recognized by her build number YN253, motor yacht Project Asia stands as a marvel of modern engineering boasting luxurious accommodations for up to 16 guests, complete with an exclusive owner's suite situated on its own dedicated deck. This private sanctuary features a study, his and hers bathrooms, and sweeping views from the forward-facing windows. Additionally, the yacht hosts an impressive VIP cabin that spans the full width of the main deck, measuring a generous 11.6m (38ft) in width.

Project Asia is the perfect choice for long-distance adventures or extended cruises around yacht charter destination favorites like Croatia and the Balearics.

Under the meticulous guidance of Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, Project Asia has an ambiance that reflects the personal taste and style of her owners. Though the finer details of the interior designs remain under wraps at this time, the superyacht's social-centric spirit is undeniable.

Among its many lavish amenities, the sundeck is the crowning glory with a sparkling pool, ample space for large sunpads, and a convivial bar area. Royal Hakvoort Shipyard

The history of Hakvoort goes back to 1919, when Albert Klzn Hakvoort purchased a shipyard that had launched its first vessel way back in 1780. Albert then continued laying the companies firm foundation of an excellent and thriving business and eventually put the name of Monnickendam back on the world wide map.

Initially Hakvoort Shipyard started building fishing boats, steadily moving into the yacht building, as the demand for pleasure sailing grew. The yard has remained in family hands throughout the decades, passing down from father to son several times. Moreover, entire families of craftsmen have also worked at Hakvoort for generations, helping create an atmosphere of personal involvement in the company and community alike.

Thanks to the outstanding quality and craftsmanship of their yachts, such as the 44 metre motor yacht Lady Duvera and the 50 metre superyacht Lady Marina, Hakvoort has become one of the world's leading yards. One of the most important aspects of their success is the personal approach and close collaboration with the owners.

Two enclosed and temperature controlled docking and construction halls make part of their facilities as well as a metal workshop, a dedicated office complex and a large quayside operation. Around 90 highly skilled staff work at the company, dedicated to building unique yachts from design conception to launch.

Having raised the roof of thier main construction hall by two metres in 2009 to build four-deck vessels, the yard’s new slipway opened in January 2012.

Offering a maximum lift of 1000 tonnes, the slipway allows Hakvoort to build superyachts of 63 x 11.60 metres. This is part of Hakvoort’s strategy to steadily grow in order to build larger yachts. “We are now in a position to bid for new 50-metre-plus projects,” says Klaas Hakvoort. “Our yard is highly competitive in this size bracket due to our lean overheads and very high quality levels”.

In addition, the newly laid out facilities include flat surface concrete walkways and dock flooring. The cleverly designed heat spreading system will create an even temperature in all sections of the hall, further enhancing the already very high standard of exterior paint and finishing. To support the construction of larger yachts Hakvoort are also in the process of upgrading our main power supply and infrastructure, tripling its current capacity.

Located in the town of Purmerend, Hakvoort superyacht's own joinery workshop Unlimited Interiors employs some 30 dedicated carpenters. Their unique eye for detail and style guarantee perfect megayacht interiors. The excellent skills at Unlimited Interiors are available on sub-contractual basis to other yachts as well as Hakvoort. They also provide independent services on custom-built projects.

Hakvoort also offers refitting services of all kinds of forms. Whether upgrading an old faithful or transforming a newly built vessel into the owner's personal style, the shipyard will meet all their clients' needs. One great example is the 2004 Queso III, which has been completely reborn into the stylish motor yacht Sea Eagle.

Their hard work and dedication has been recognised by the International Superyacht Society and Show Boats International. Since 1994 a number of Hakvoort yachts have been nominated for an award and at least five of them have won in their class. Some of the winning superyachts are the Lady Marina (1994), Freesia (1998), yacht Spada (1999), Saga from 2002, the luxury motor yacht Tigre D'Or (2005) and the 2007 launched superyacht Perle Bleue.

On boarding it is obvious the massive cockpit idea for Sport Fishing or staging all types of water sports.  A hydraulic swim platform extends into the water for easy access for swimming or diving. To port and starboard in the cockpit are settee seating with cocktail tables ideal for viewing all the action. Going up the steps and into the Main Salon/Dining area your first impression is of warm woods and exquisite Dutch quality. This area is ideal for entertaining in grand style with a bar forward to port and the dinging table to starboard. The area also features comfortable lounging and access to the entertaining systems. Proceeding forward to starboard is the Master or VIP stateroom on this main deck with a beautiful ensued head with bath and large hanging lockers.

Proceeding down from the Main Salon area is the second VIP stateroom to starboard with en-suit head, bath and hanging locker. Across the hall through an electric hidden pocket door is the access to the Main Galley the size and equipment as you would expect on any large superyacht (much larger than any Sport Fishing Yachts) with three private double crew staterooms for up to six crew (as you would expect to see in a superyacht).Proceeding up from the Main Salon you enter the Sky Lounge/Helm area. This area gives you a second salon with excellent panoramic views ideal for at anchor or underway. Forward is the main helm area complete with all the navigations electronics your captain could ask for. Out the aft electric doors onto the upper deck lounging and dining area ideal for alfresco dining in the open air (similar feel to a large motor yacht). Up easy steps to the upper Flying Bridge complete with hard top and lounging area (like on a large Motoryacht) as well as a forward command station for full operation and an aft command station for operating the vessel for landing large fish or deep dropping for bottom fishing.On the foredeck is a large sun area complete with a six person Jacuzzi tub also the perfect area for entertaining larger groups.

Full Description

Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design planned the living areas around the central staircase, ensuring impeccable flow between each space. The layout is logical and passageways are wider than usual for a yacht of this size to ensure ease of movement for the owner and guests. ASIA has a wealth of amenities, dotted around the vessel ensuring that each space has a distinctive character and purpose. The key highlights include a large gym on the bridge deck with 270-degree views, a massage parlour, hospital room and sauna in the beach club and a beauty salon on the owner’s deck.

“The spread of function throughout ASIA was a key requirement set by this owner,” explains Paul Costerus, Lead Designer at Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design. “They wanted to ensure each area was enjoyed and used at different times of the day and for different purposes. The deck spaces are also nice, open and very free. We liberated more aft deck space by building the exterior staircases into the superstructure.”

Natural light played a leading role in ASIA’s design and she’s punctuated by large glass windows that provide exceptional panoramic vistas from the social and living areas onboard. ASIA has two exceptional lounges. The main deck saloon has an understated elegance, with neutral soft furnishings, deep Ziricote veneers and vibrant pops of colour from the intricate glass wall hangings and custom fabrics. A bar, C-shaped settee and 12-person dining table complete the space.

ASIA has a cheerful and playful design. The palette is a crescendo of vibrant and pastel colours, from striking pinks and majestic emeralds to soft turquoise and warm oranges. Detailing is just as diverse with subtle embossed gold leaf and marble inlays to huge cascading glass chandeliers. All light fixtures have been cleverly concealed and integrated throughout.

Accommodation is for 12 guests across six ensuite staterooms, comprising four doubles on the lower deck, which are directly connected to the beach club, and two supreme owner’s suites: one on the main deck and the other on the owner’s deck. An additional cabin for staff is also located on the main deck.

The main deck owner’s suite is very generous in size and has a private lounge and walkaround ensuite with a rainfall shower and bathtub. Finished with light woods, subtle gold detailing, textured carpets and marble, the suite has a light and elegant ambience.

There is an entire deck dedicated to the principal owner’s suite and features a personal sky lounge, his-and-her ensuites, an office and private decks both forward and aft. The bedroom is forward with a king-size centreline bed and astounding panoramic views. There is also direct access from the suite to the foredeck, complete with a Jacuzzi and casual dining and lounge area.

The crew quarters are generous and finished to a high standard. ASIA can host up to 18 crew and almost all cabins are fitted with extra-wide beds. With the technical area concentrated forward and broad companionways, the crew can navigate around the vessel easily and without disturbance.

Built for comfort and efficient cruising

“The leading request on the owner’s brief was comfort, not speed,” explains Bart de Haan, Operations Director & Naval Architect at Diana Yacht Design. “We opted for a round bilge displacement hull, paying great attention to stability and operational performance in all weather conditions. As a result, ASIA has an impressive range and is very fuel-efficient.”
