The Venue THE MARINA

A first-class private marina.

Surrounded by the crystal clear water of the Aegean and the unique sites of the Resort, Marina Miraggio is a premier year round recreational yachting facility. It is awarded with the Golden Greek Hospitality Award 2021 and the European Union’s “Blue Flag” 2021 and 2022.

It has the capacity to accommodate 81 yachts up to 40m, offering a wide range of services including round-the-clock security and manning across the 50,000sqm site.

Furthermore, it is an exceptional haven for sea fans, enhancing the super-yacht experience with innovative construction, environmental friendly operation and top-notch service.

A new era in recreational yachting

Marina Miraggio is one of Greece’s most technologically advanced marine projects and was developed with the cooperation of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

The main consideration during the design phase was the minimum impact on sea flora and fauna as well as on the surrounding area, along with the maximum physical water circulation in order to keep the marina water clean and avoid bacteria development that effects yachts’ hull.

The whole concept lead to the first “open-grown type” port facility combined with a series of manufacturing innovations which include one of the longest quays of this type in Greece (110 meters length).

Marina Miraggio is a unique welcome in Halkidiki, and a wonderful stay for all the yacht lovers.

Marina Miraggio is the only facility of this kind at the southwest side of Kassandra peninsula, and also, the closest docking point in Halkidiki from the islands of Sporades. Its coordinates, 39ο 55’, 46’’ North, 23ο 42’, 21’’ East, make it the ideal hub for yachts either to sail to southern parts of Aegean, or to the northern parts of Greece such as Kavala and Samothraki. Porto Carras Marina

Porto Carras Marina is the largest marina in Nothern Greece exclusively designed to cater to the mooring needs of customers with large luxury vessels and ocean-going mega yachts .

The private marina is the ideal base for sea-loving voyagers eager to explore the beautiful Greek islands and local attractions, many of which are within leisurely sailing distance.

All staff at the marina are carefully selected and trained to provide customers with the exclusive care, privacy and professional service they deserve. High standards are maintained through constant training of all marina personnel.

With a capacity of accommodating up to 315 vessels , Porto Carras marina is 5.5 meters deep and allows access to yachts up to 55 meters in length.

There are 296 utility points for power supply (220-380 volt) and water supply of vessels, telephone and data TV service. Moreover, 40 street lamps, life-saving appliances and permanent fire fighting installation, fuel station, showers, laundry services, dry docking area and boat maintenance & repair facilities.

Also, Porto Carras marina hosts a Nautical Club that offers the club members the chance to entertain themselves and participate in national as well as international races.

The Halkidiki peninsula with its three long fingers, near Thessaloniki, is one of the last areas in Greece that is rarely visited by yachties. A luxury yacht that fire officials say was loaded with "1,000 rounds of unspent ammunition and fireworks" has been captured on video sinking at a marina in California after bursting into flames. 

The Los Angeles County Fire Department says the incident involving the 100-foot-long vessel happened Thursday night and two people onboard managed to escape without injuries. 

"According to [the] boat owner, 1,000 rounds of unspent ammunition and fireworks [were] onboard," the department wrote on X, before adding that the boat became "fully submerged." 

Video taken at the scene showed firefighters spraying the boat with hoses as the flames engulfed multiple decks.

After part of the fire was extinguished, two people can be seen standing on a dock and watching the smoldering yacht go underwater. 

"I saw it fully engulfed in flames and like many of us living here heard an explosion and saw fireworks coming off it, and more flames and then walked down here and captured video of it," local resident Lynn Rose told NBC Los Angeles.

The yacht was identified by the website Boat International as The Admiral, which it says was last listed for sale in 2018 for nearly $1 million. 

The ship has four cabins – each equipped with flatscreen televisions and en suite facilities – the website adds.

Coast Guard crews that arrived on scene installed around 2,000 feet of boom to contain nearly 4,000 gallons of diesel that leaked from the yacht during the fire, according to NBC Los Angeles.

Yacht with explosive materials onboard burns and sinks in Marina del Rey

A luxury, 100-foot yacht docked in Marina del Rey that had fireworks and 1,000 rounds of ammunition aboard erupted into a fiery inferno before sinking on Wednesday night.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to reports of the blaze at 2201 Basin A shortly after 8:30pm and thankfully, the two passengers that were onboard escaped with only minor injuries. With Mariners Village and the Courtyard Marriott close by, this was quite the spectacle in the harbor, burning brightly against the black night sky and as such it was captured by many on video and posted to social media.

Called The Admiral, the vessel reportedly had large amounts of both fireworks and ammunition of an unknown caliber stored below deck on the starboard side of the vessel. As first responders worked to contain the blaze, which threatened nearby boats and residential structures, fireworks began exploding from the deck of the boat.

According to Boat International , the twin-diesel-engine yacht was built by US shipyard Broward Marine in 1986. It featured four cabins including the master suite, all were equipped with flatscreen televisions, entertainment centers and en suite facilities. It could hold 10 guests with three crew members and was last listed in 2018 for $985,000.

It’s unclear exactly how the fire started, but only two hours after the blaze began, the vessel began sinking into the not terribly deep water of the marina at the end of Bora Bora Way. The boat was declared fully submerged at 11:33pm.

Fire crews set up a boom in the area of water where the boat was docked in an attempt to capture any contaminants leaking from the vessel as it was sinking. According to a Coast Guard spokesperson, an estimated 4,000 gallons of diesel was dumped into the water.

Cleanup begins after yacht goes up in flames and sinks in Marina del Rey

The United States Coast Guard installed roughly 2,000 feet of boom Friday morning in Marina Del Rey to contain nearly 4,000 gallons of leaking diesel fuel after a yacht fire.

The yacht sank Wednesday night when a powerful explosion engulfed a the large boat in flames with nearly 1,000 rounds of unused fireworks and ammunition on board. Fire crews poured water onto the burning vessel, which was ultimately destroyed and sank into the harbor at 2201 Basin A.

“Our Coast Guard team was able to transition quickly from a fire response to an oil spill response, which allowed us to ensure we had the right people and resources mobilized,'' said Capt. Stacey L. Crecy, the Coast Guard's federal on-scene coordinator. “We were able to deploy containment and collection equipment as soon as it was safe to do so to mitigate the impacts from the discharge of diesel from the vessel after it became submerged.''

The booms were placed around the vessel and affected areas of the harbor. Crews from both the USGC and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife will continue to monitor the area until the cleanup is complete. 

In a statement Friday morning the Department of Fish and Wildlife said there are currently no impacts to sensitive environmental sites or species, nor has any oiled wildlife been reported.

The USCG has also partnered with Patriot Environmental Services, Cleans Harbors organization, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s County, and the Oiled Wildlife Care Network.

The spill is not yet a threat to public health, according to USCG.

The fuel spill cleanup operation could take several days. It’s also still not immediately clear when the boat will be removed from the water.

The fire was reported shortly after 8:33 p.m. and firefighters responded to 211 Basin A to douse the flames on the approximately 100-foot boat, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.

Multiple explosions resonated throughout the harbor as The Admiral was consumed by flames.

Footage at the scene from CBS 2 showed the boat listing to one side before sinking in the harbor.

Two people on board escaped the flames unharmed, the fire department reported. ABC 7 reported one person suffered a cut on the arm.

KTLA reported that the fire stemmed from fireworks exploding on the vessel, threatening other boats nearby and several structures.

An investigation into the fire was underway.

Fire sinks 31m vintage Broward Marine yacht The Admiral in Marina del Rey, California

The 30.5-metre Broward Marine yacht The Admiral has sunk following a fire while docked in Marina del Rey, California.

The LA County fire department responded to reports of a fire at 8.33pm yesterday (18 September). Two people were on board at the time but were able to evacuate without injuries. 

According to local reports, the interior flames were resistant to firefighters' efforts and the yacht quickly began to list. Authorities were forced to evacuate at approximately 10.30pm. At the time of writing, The Admiral is now almost completely submerged.

The cause of the fire has not been confirmed, though several firework explosions were documented by eyewitnesses. The yacht has discharged red-dye diesel into the water, according to the United States Coast Guard, who are collaborating with the Patriot Environmental Services and Clean Harbors organizations to contain and recover any pollution. The Admiral has a fuel capacity of 6,000 gallons.

The Admiral was delivered by US shipyard Broward Marine in 1986. Exterior design was completed in house while her interior is owed to US-based studio Robin Rose . Accommodation is across four cabins, including a master suite and all equipped with flatscreen televisions, entertainment centres and en suite facilities. The yacht was listed for sale in 2018 at a last known asking price of $985,000.

The incident is ongoing. BOAT International will update the story as it develops.

You’re drifting off to sleep when, suddenly, BOOM! The whole apartment shakes. It sounds like a warzone outside—explosions ripping through the air, rattling the windows, and making your heart pound. The harbor has erupted into chaos. That’s what residents of Marina del Rey woke up to as a luxury yacht packed with fireworks and 1,000 rounds of ammunition caught fire, turning the marina into something straight out of a disaster movie.

Lynn Rose, a local resident, said to ABC7, “We were sitting on the balcony, and we heard multiple explosions, and then just saw an absolute insane amount of smoke.” Like everyone else, she ran outside—despite safety concerns. “We immediately ran out of our houses because we have, you know, no instinct for survival and decided to go toward the flames.” Out there, residents saw the full spectacle: an enormous yacht fully engulfed in flames. “It looked like there were either fireworks or something, because there was a lot of stuff going off,” Rose recalled. “After about ten minutes, the whole boat caught up in flames.”

Firefighters arrived on the scene, confused by the sheer scale of the chaos. “We were dealing with not just the fire, but also the risk of explosions from the fireworks,” said the Los Angeles County Fire Department to Fire Rescue 1 . Captain Pono Barnes explained how tricky it was to battle the blaze: “It’s very difficult with a boat fire in the harbor because you have limited access, and you can’t get a full 360 around the vessel with water.” Crews had to carefully balance dousing the flames without sinking the boat, all while dealing with the very real danger of live ammunition onboard. “We had to reposition our fireboats due to the risk of further explosions,” firefighters explained to Yahoo News .
