Christensen Yachts was born from a partnership between Dave Christensen and Westport shipyards, as the once construction industry icon looked for a yard to commission his personal boat. After several frustrating interviews at various factories, Dave decided to build it himself. Westport built the hull, while Dave did all of the finishing on his own. By the time the yacht was finished, Christensen was inundated with orders for boats and soon realized the opportunity.

Focusing on completely custom-built luxury yachts between 100-feet and 165-feet, Christensen soon made a name for itself as one of the top manufacturers every to come out of the U.S. The original shipyard was located in Vancouver, Washington and over the years produced over 120 motor yachts . Christensen was known to be a pioneer in using composite fiberglass in the construction process. In 2009, Christensen Yachts began the production of a superyacht facility on Tellico Lake in Tennessee. The facility remained unfinished until 2019, but is now home to Christensen where they have two yachts currently under construction.

Every Christensen Yacht splashed was built to the very best capabilities of the American shipyard. Only the finest materials were used and every hull would undergo a large-scale vacuum-bagging resin-infusion process for the perfect strength-to-weight ratio. Other innovative construction techniques have also greatly improved interest in the builder. For example, Christensen invested in their own comprehensive HVAC systems that replace copper nickel salt-water piping with composite piping which is easier for maintenance.

Accessed from the aft deck, the yacht’s substantial main salon is surrounded by windows and filled with natural light. A formal dining space for 12 is located forward. The skylounge is the ultimate locale for guest entertainment with spacious, comfortable seating and a sunken bar with oversized bar chairs. The large windows allow guests to take in the passing views no matter where they sit. Alfresco dining can be enjoyed in many areas of AMORE, be it on the aft deck, skylounge aft or on the sensational sundeck. The sun lounges on the skylounge aft are perfect for sunbathing. AMORE was built by an exceptional team at one of the premier yacht builders in America, Christensen Shipyard in Vancouver, WA. AMORE was originally built for a knowledgeable yachtsman with close relations to the shipyard. Her subsequent current owner has kept the tradition of keeping AMORE in immaculate condition by consistently maintaining an exceptional Captain and crew.

The beautiful contemporary interior of AMORE was designed by interior designer Carol Williams & Associates and handcrafted in-house by Christensen. Her outstanding features include striking walnut walls and cabinetry and some of the world’s finest marble inlay and stonework.

She has an incredible 6 stateroom layout that includes a full beam master stateroom on the main deck, 5 guest staterooms below, all ensuite, comprised of a full-beam VIP stateroom, 2 King guest staterooms and 2 guest staterooms with a full, a single and Pullman berth, giving her accommodations for up to 16 guests.

The elevator can access all four decks, from the guest cabins up to the sun deck.

Walkthrough

Entering AMORE from the starboard side through the formal entrance, one will reach the foyer to find stunning marble floors, beautiful spiral stairs and an elevator that services all decks. A spacious and well-appointed main deck day head is in the forward section of the foyer. Further forward through a private Owner’s study is the full beam on-deck master stateroom with his and her oversized walk-in closets and ample storage throughout.

As you go up to the skylounge deck by stairs or elevator you will find a spacious and comfortable skylounge with ample seating, entertainment, a sunken bar with large comfortable bar chairs, and huge windows throughout for views as far as the eye can see. Forward of the skylounge is the upper deck foyer with day toilet. Passing through the foyer one will reach the bridge, the control center of this fine yacht, equipped with state-of-the-art navigation and communication equipment.

One can enter AMORE from the aft deck into the main salon where you will find a huge salon for relaxing and entertaining with large windows on either side, allowing unimpeded views of the water and surroundings. Forward of the main salon, one finds formal dining for 12.

Continue forward past the dining to reach the foyer. This area is also accessed through the formal entrance on the starboard side of the vessel.

AMORE has the most spacious outside deck space of any vessel of its size. The main deck offers seating tables, bars and comfort with the lower deck having a full covered walk-around. The upper deck offers wonderful seating areas, covered dining for 12 and roomy entertaining areas.

The sun deck offers a shaded bar with seating for 9, additional seating at lower table, sun pads, Jacuzzi, and elevator access. In addition, the sun deck, has the ability for a touch and go helicopter pad.

AMORE can accommodate up to 16 guests in 6 staterooms. The master stateroom, the largest cabin on the vessel, has a King-sized bed with His and Hers walk-in closets and ensuite bathrooms with a bathtub and a shower.

The VIP stateroom is the second largest cabin with a King-sized bed, His and Hers closets, a bathtub, and a shower. The two aft cabins both have King-sized beds, closets and showers.

The two forward guest staterooms each have double beds, a single bed and a pullman also with ensuite bathrooms, the port side with bathtub and starboard with a shower. Both cabins have ample closet space and storage.

The crew have separate quarters that are located further forward. The crew can access the guest cabins through a walkway for housekeeping purposes.

Established in 1985 as Christensen Motor Yacht Corporation by Dave Christensen, a seasoned builder with a rich history of construction projects spanning from apartments to hospitals across the Pacific Northwest since 1955. Christensen’s journey into yacht construction stemmed from his desire to create vessels of superior quality. Initially collaborating with Westport Shipyards for hull construction, Christensen soon expanded, establishing his own facilities and molds by 1986. The evolution culminated in the renaming of the company to Christensen Shipyards, Ltd. in 1993.

The Christensen facility was over 180,000 square feet of climate-controlled manufacturing space along with a spacious seven-acre marina. Featuring 12 expansive manufacturing and assembly bays, each dedicated to specific construction operations such as electrical, metalwork, painting, cabinetry, stone and marble crafting, and upholstery. Notably, a newly expanded bay with an impressive 80-foot ceiling facilitated indoor yacht completion before launch. The enclosed and secured marina could host up to seven yachts, while the dry dock accommodated vessels weighing up to 400 tons. With a track record of delivering over 40 yachts ranging from 65 to 164 feet, Christensen continued to collaborate with esteemed interior designers like Carol Williamson & Associates to redefine luxury yacht craftsmanship.

Christensen has permanently closed its doors in 2020, creating a demand in the brokerage market due to their incredible legacy.
