Load Rite’s galvanized V-bunk models are based on a tried and true design that has provided years of worry-free service to many Load Rite owners. The galvanized steel frame design is sturdy and long lasting, with stylish fenders and graphics accents. The tubular shape shrouds wiring and brake lines from damage during use. The bunks are a simple “set and forget” design. Available with a wide array of options based on trailer size. Add aluminum wheels and you’ve just specified a fully functional and great looking trailer that’s easy to use.

Foam between the deck and trailer or 2x4's works fine. Know the proper paperwork so you can legally transfer the registration. Rachet straps work well, if they get wet stop and check their tightness. So there are many options that will let you tralier the Sunfish. They all work.

Academy Sports sells a very nice little galvanized trailer for $599. that has a welded aluminum angle frame for the bunks (nice). It needs nothing extra to fit and carry a Sunfish other than perhaps a rear keel roller if you want one. I restore and sell dozens of Sunfish each season and recommend these to any customer that needs a trailer.

Harbor Freight Sunfish Trailer
The harbor freight trailer has two leaf spring packs. It has a payload capacity of 900 pounds. That's way too stiff for carrying a lone sunfish. If I was to use this trailer for just the Sunfish I would remove the second leaf in the spring pack. I have done this to all my dedicated sunfish/laser boat trailers.

The harbor freight trailer has two leaf spring packs. It has a payload capacity of 900 pounds. That's way too stiff for carrying a lone sunfish.
