Below Deck Yachts
If you’ve never seen the show, it follows the crew of a luxury yacht during peak “charter season.” The original Below Deck, for example, showed off the glitz and glamour of the Caribbean, especially around St. Thomas, the British Virgin Islands, and the Bahamas. The Mediterranean spin-off, on the other hand, highlights European hotspots, including Italy, Spain and Croatia.
The show is undeniably a ton of fun. From the drama in the crew quarters, to the incredible beaches, the show provides an entertaining look behind the curtain.
Yet, the chartered superyachts are the real stars of the show. Each season, Below Deck features a truly stunning super yacht. All of them measure over 150 feet and are decked out in opulent features, staterooms and amenities. And here’s something you might not know: The majority of the Below Deck yachts are available for charter!
Below Deck Charter Yachts
Through five seasons, Below Deck has featured some of the most magnificent super yachts in the world. Some of the yachts have changed ownership since the show, been renamed, or have undergone a refitting. Yet, most look like they did from the show.
But beyond the name and maybe a few changes to the interior, there aren’t many differences. All of the water toys, Jacuzzis and stunning outdoor dining areas are what you’ll find on the yachts available for charter! So which charter yachts are available?
Season | Yacht | Real Name | Length | Charter Rate |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Honor | Lumiere | 163.8’ | From $175,000/week |
2 | Ohana | Rhino | 154’ | From $140,000/week |
3 | Eros | Mustang Sally | 161’ | Not Available |
4 | Valor | BG | 153.9’ | Not Available |
5 | Valor | BG | 153.9’ | Not Available |
Mediterranean 1 | Ionian Princess | Ionian Princess | 150’ | From €145,000/week |
Mediterranean 2 | Sirocco | Sirocco | 154.2′ | From €180,000/week |
Mediterranean 3 | Talisman Maiton | Talisman Maiton | 177.1′ | From €231,000/week |
Here’s a more detailed look at the yachts featured on the original Below Deck:
Honor – Season 1
Honor (which is now LUMIERE) kicked off the first season, and she put on a dazzling display. The yacht, originally built by Benetti in 1999, is one of the largest yachts ever featured on the show, and it was actually booked for a five-week charter for filming.
HONOR benefited from the new-found fame of the show. She sold after it aired for nearly $15 million, and the new owners completely refit her interiors and renamed the boat. Today, LUMIERE is a masterpiece of nautical engineering.
She features luxurious accommodations for up to 12 guests and an abundance of deck space, including a sprawling sun deck. The yacht also features a wide array of water toys (the slide was a struggle for the crew all season!).
Ohana – Season 2
Season 2 took the crew on a tour of the British Virgin Islands and featured some familiar faces. Captain Lee, Chef Ben, and Bosun Eddie were back, much to the pleasure of fans. Yet, the yacht was completely different.
OHANA (real name is RHINO) was featured on the second season, a stunning 154-footer, with beautiful decks, a horseshoe outdoor bar, and a stunning outdoor sun deck. After the show aired in 2014, Ohana underwent an extensive retrofit.
She now features an updated interior with a decidedly modern, airy vibe, as well as new hardware, including a state-of-the-art stabilization system.
Eros – Season 3
EROS took centerstage in Season 3, and the 161-foot yacht, originally built for the founder of Tim Hortons, was one of the most luxurious featured on the show. The beautiful tri-deck, featured a stately saloon, a sky lounge Jacuzzi, and sleek exterior styling.
EROS – which was sold prior to the third season – has since been renamed and was also remodeled. She’s now known as Mustang Sally, and unfortunately, this is one of the few Below Deck charter yachts that’s not available for charter.
Valor – Seasons 4 & 5
The stately VALOR was a fan favorite in Season 4 and 5. Built in 1990 by Dutch-based Feadship, the 154-foot VALOR featured a sprawling aft deck, perfect for sunset dinners and afternoon lounges. Plus, the ship – when featured on the show – had a range of water toys, including dual jet skis and a sleek, boutique hotel-inspired interior.
Like Mustang Sally, VALOR – which is now known as simply BG – isn’t available for charter. Yet, fans will always remember all the drama that took place on board.
Below Deck Mediterranean Yachts
Below Deck Mediterranean premiered in 2016, and through three seasons, the show has featured some of the Med’s best yachts. All of the yachts from the Mediterranean spin-off are available for charter, exactly how you see them on the show.
Ionian Princess – Season 1
Season 1 of Below Deck Mediterranean launched with a bang, featuring one of the strongest premieres for the franchise. Although there was plenty of drama throughout the season as the crew traveled around Greece, the beauty of IONIAN PRINCESS couldn’t be missed. The ship, which was originally built in the U.S. in 2005, featured a sleek, streamlined tri-deck design and gorgeous interiors.
The sun deck – where guests partied all season long – is one of the yacht’s star attractions, featuring a Jacuzzi with world-class views. Her interior, though, is one of the most stunning, featuring a chic design. The yacht also includes six cabins with accommodations for up to 12 guests.
Sirocco – Season 2
Season 2 took the crew to Croatia, aboard SIROCCO. The Dutch-built yacht originally launched in 2006, and thanks to its unique two-tone, third-deck exterior, she was remembered for her striking exterior. All of the yacht’s features made great TV. From her incredible sun deck, to the African chic interior, and all of the many water toys, SIROCCO’s impressive design and amenities stood out.
Today, she’s available for charter throughout the Mediterranean. A few unique features include a sun deck gym, an alfresco party deck, a theatre, and a wide array of water toys.
Talisman Maiton – Season 3
Named for an island in Thailand, TAILSMAN MAITON is a stunning tri-deck that cruises the pristine waters of Italy and all of the Mediterranean. The largest to ever be featured on the show, TAILSMAN is truly incredible.
The yacht accommodates 12 guests, in 6 beautifully appointed rooms. There’s a master suite, as well as 1 VIP stateroom, and four smaller cabins. The yacht was built in 2006, but most recently refit in 2016 with a timeless Art Deco aesthetic. The yacht also features a sundeck spa pool with a beautiful bar, a full-service gym, and an observation deck with panoramic views.
How Long Are the Below Deck Charters?
Here’s a little-known secret about Below Deck: The “charter season” on the show is just a few weeks. In fact, the yachts are actually booked for about six weeks, and their regular crews are sent home. In other words, the charters on Below Deck are actually a charter within a charter!
Each of the Below Deck charters last just a few days, and each episode features new charter guests.
Below Deck Yacht Rental Costs
Hiring a yacht from Below Deck isn’t cheap. The majority cost in the neighborhood of $150,000 per week. Yet, that charter rate doesn’t include expenses, including fuel, dockage fees, and taxes.
Yet, for that price, you’ll get a truly world-class experience. The crews of each of these yachts provide first-class service and all of the boats are fully loaded with amenities. There’s nothing quite like it in the world. And by hiring one of these superyachts, you’ll also have bragging rights for chartering a yacht featured on a TV show!

Below Deck Med Season 9 Charter Guests Reveal Behind-the-Scenes Secrets: “Hate to Say It..."
These Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 guests had plenty to say about their time aboard Mustique .
While we may know what goes on in the crew quarters on Below Deck Mediterranean , it's less common that we get all of the guests' takes on their time aboard Mustique — until now! In the above video for BravoTV.com, some of Season 9's primary guests unpack what it was like to spend time with the crew, be surrounded by drama, and eat Chef Johnathan Shillingford 's food.
How to Watch
Watch Below Deck Mediterranean on Peacock and the Bravo app .
"Overall, the yacht was amazing. The crew was stellar . Great parties. Great dinners. They totally embraced everything we wanted to do," said Brad and Stacey, who had the privilege of being the last primary charter guests of the season.
"I have been obsessed with Greece. Love everything Greek, so this was really tailor-made for me," added Julie Ann from charter two. However, she wouldn't be picky about location if offered another charter with the Season 9 squad. "I would love to go on any experience with this crew. It was epic," she later added.
The boat itself was also a highlight for guests. "It was beautiful," said Pamela who attended charter seven. "It made me feel like we were high-end luxury."
"It was an awesome boat. Biggest, coolest boat I'd ever been on in my life," added her partner Evan.

Season 9 charter guests name which crew members made their trip special
As for what crew member had the biggest impact on guests? Aesha Scott was charter five guest Coleen's pick, because "she made me laugh so much on my trip."
Modeling industry icon Marsha from charter three agreed. "I love her," she said.

"Aesha by far. She made the biggest impact," said Pamela.
"I think that Aesha is a fantastic rapper," added Evan. "I'm pretty sure I cut a couple with her. I think, in my next life I'm gonna be a country music rapper. I think it's in the cards for me."
Charter one guests Joel and Jacob had a different answer, though. "I would say for us, Nathan [Gallagher] and Joe [Bradley] ," they said. "They went above and beyond for us." (As fans might recall, the deckhands went in search of rosé for the guests after a provisioning mishap — and were able to buy some from a nearby mega yacht.)

Charter guests praise (and criticize) Chef Johnathan Shillingford's food
The boys also had a soft spot for Chef Jono, calling his cooking "unreal."
"For me, I think the food was the best part about the trip. I loved the food," they added.
Mahisha and John from charter six also thought "everything was pretty good" food-wise, with John especially appreciative of Jono's ability to accommodate requests like "extra-crispy" duck.
Ellie Is at a Loss for Words After Aesha's "Real Yachtie" Remark: “What Do You Want From Me?”
Tennis player Gigi Fernández from charter two did have a word of advice for the chef, though: "Get some training."
"He said he was self-taught," she added. "That just threw up a red flag for me. You can't expect to be a chef at this level and not get some kind of training."
Charter seven guests Janie and Steve, who were offered a cookie after talking about how they wanted soufflés, were also less than impressed with the food.
"We had put on our preference sheet that we wanted soufflés for our anniversary, right?" said Janie. "We were excited. Here's a chance to be out there and get everything you've ever dreamed of eating," added Steve.
And Jono brought ... a chocolate chip cookie . "I hate to say it Jono, I love you, but honey, I could've been in your galley cooking your food," said Janie. "Sorry."
Guests reveal what it's like to hang with Captain Sandy Yawn
The primaries also loved having Captain Sandy Yawn head the crew; Coleen noted that being on a girls' trip with a female captain was special, or rather "the cherry on top" of her vacation.
"I will never forget it. It is a birthday trip of all birthday trips," she said.
"It was great chartering with Captain Sandy again. She runs a tight ship, and everything was spectacular," added Gigi.

While bareboat, skippered and crewed yacht charters are all stylish, fun and relaxing, they each offer a unique way to sail and explore..
On a bareboat charter , you will take responsibility for skippering your own yacht and guiding yourself around your chosen destination. No crew will join you on board, although our base crew will be on hand to support you whenever necessary. On a skippered charter , an experienced skipper will take the helm for all or part of your vacation so you can relax up on deck when you want, while also having the choice to guide yourself around for part of the charter.
These differ from a crewed yacht charter, as a Captain and Chef team will join you for your entire vacation and take care of everything so that you can focus on relaxing and unwinding. Like the bareboat charter, you will still have the freedom to choose your own itinerary and, similarly to the skippered charter, your experienced crew will be able to share local knowledge and tips to make your charter even more special.

Things To Do Fun and Games
You don’t have to be a billionaire to vacation on a yacht in the caribbean. and it can be more fun than a cruise.
When I told friends I was going to sail on a Dream Yacht Charter around St. Martin and St. Bart’s for six days with a small group of passengers I had yet to meet, they made lots of references to “Below Deck,” the Bravo reality TV show about yachts and yachties. I wasn’t familiar with the show, so I tuned in.
Whoa! Was I going to be onboard with inebriated women jumping into the sea for a midnight swim in their designer cocktail dresses and middle-aged men suffering from the delusion they are Justin Timberlake on the dance floor? Would the crew dismiss us as a bunch of snobs and talk trash about us behind our backs?
Fortunately, the answer was no.
When I boarded the Dream Baliceaux at the marina in Anse Marcel, a lush island at the northern tip of St. Martin, I met my delightfully drama-free sailing mates — a couple from Delaware who were proud grandparents, a 30-something woman from Florida who loved snorkeling and a Frenchman who was a professional photographer.
Come hell or high water — and I really hoped there would be no high water — these were my companions for the next week on the Lagoon 620, a 62-foot catamaran with six cabins for guests and crew.
That’s how it works with this cabin charter . Each passenger or couple rents one cabin that starts at $1,115 and shares the common spaces, such as the dining area and spacious decks, with their fellow sailors.
Bottom line: Your name doesn’t have to be Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos to afford a yachting vacation in the Caribbean.
Another option is renting the entire boat with only friends and family aboard. Sail with a full crew, or if you are an experienced sailor, no crew.
In my case, there were two crew members: the skipper, David, and an exceptionally talented French cook named Natalie. I still dream of her coquilles St. Jacques, a traditional French dish of scallops poached in white wine.
I’ve cruised many times on large ships with thousands of passengers, but this was my first overnight yacht experience, and it was unlike any of my other seafaring adventures.
There’s a lot of waiting on a massive ship, especially for shore excursions. A snorkeling trip may mean waiting in the ship’s auditorium for half an hour, a 45-minute bus ride and then an hour actually snorkeling before you board the bus for another 45-minute ride back to the ship.
On a charter, if you want to go snorkeling, just jump in. Stay as long as you want.
Anse de Colombier, a pristine beach that’s part of the St. Barts Marine Reserve is a snorkeler’s paradise. I was greeted by a southern stingray flapping its wing-like fins to propel itself gracefully along the ocean floor. Stingrays aren’t aggressive creatures, but they have barbed tails to protect against predators. I didn’t want to be mistaken for one, so I swam away.
My next companion was much less threatening. An amiable sea turtle floated alongside me as I admired fish in a kaleidoscope of colors.
Back on board, we all learned the importance of using extra clothes pins when hanging our bathing suits to dry in the wind. I asked Tina, the woman from Florida, if she had seen the bottom to my bathing suit. No, had I seen the top to hers? We joked about the mismatched pair keeping each other company at the bottom of the sea.
The tiny island of Pinel off the French side of St. Martin was a favorite stop, not only because of its postcard-perfect beaches, but because of the bounty of seafood.
“I’ll take that one,” I said, pointing to a Caribbean spiny lobster wriggling in an underwater cage with its companions, all destined to become lunch for hungry day-trippers.
A man hauled the cage out of the ocean, and with a gloved hand, wrestled the crustacean into a bucket. It was whisked away to the kitchen of Yellow Beach restaurant, where it would be grilled to perfection.
I waited for my meal at a table in a thatched-roof cabana that offered a view of beachgoers frolicking in the emerald-hued waves of the Caribbean Sea.
St. Martin, split between the Netherlands and France, is widely heralded as the culinary capital of the Caribbean, and grilled lobster is a local specialty.
Unlike the Maine lobster most familiar to Americans, Caribbean lobster doesn’t have large front claws. It’s prized for its densely packed sweet tail meat, which is slightly firmer than its New England counterpart.
Instead of the usual melted butter, the lobster was served with a piquant Creole sauce, a nod to St. Martin’s West Indian culinary influence.
After a hearty lunch, a dinghy ferried me back to the Dream Baliceaux. Skipper David raised the sails, and off we went.
We went ashore in Gustavia, the capital of the island country of St. Barts, a tropical paradise with French finesse that has long been an oasis for the rich and famous. It was off season, so I didn’t come across Leonardo DiCaprio hanging out with supermodels on one of the island’s unspoiled beaches or run into Jennifer Lopez shopping on the chic Quai de la République, home to luxury stores that include Hermes and Louis Vuitton; but celebrity spotting is always possible.
This fashionista will never spend $50,000 on a handbag, but window shopping is free.
On Rue Samuel Fahlberg, I serendipitously strolled into CED & ROD, an elegant boutique, to escape the heat, and was instantly captivated by the delicate silks and other light fabrics destined to flutter in a tropical breeze.
Rodolphe Ayer welcomed me in, and even let me peek at the atelier, or workshop, in the back. It was thrilling for someone who is a bit of a clothes horse. A wall was covered in sketches featuring next season’s fashions, and Cedric Fahey, the “maestro,” as Ayer calls him, sat at a sewing machine bringing couture and bespoke designs to life.
One day I kicked back on the boat’s sun-splashed deck, observing brown pelicans dive bomb into the ocean and soar off triumphantly with wiggling fish. It was a choppy ride to Grand Case, a laid-back village on the northwest side of St. Martin that’s celebrated for lolos, the affordable, open-air restaurants centered around a grill.
To find one, just follow your nose. The smoky aroma of meat hangs thick in the air, enticing hungry passersby. Practically any creature that walks, crawls or swims can be spotted sizzling on the grill.
At the Rib Shack, I took an oceanfront seat and soaked up the breathtaking view. As the last sliver of sun sank into the horizon, a patchwork of purple and orange clouds provided an ethereal backdrop for the illuminated yachts docked for the night.
I tucked into a plate piled high with enough food to feed half the island. The ribs were the star of the show, but a supporting cast of delicious sides that included curry rice, plantains and Johnny cakes — fried cornmeal patties that are a Caribbean staple — rounded out the down-home meal.
Later that evening, the boat rocked gently as I sat beneath a canopy of stars admiring the lights on Grand Case in the distance. I realized that for once, I didn’t feel compelled to check my phone.
I was a lucky girl — living the yachting lifestyle without owning a yacht. Thankfully, nothing about the experience remotely resembled the histrionics of “Below Deck.”

Three migrants dead, more feared missing after boat sinks off Greek island
ATHENS – Three migrants died and many more were feared missing after their boat sank on Sept 23 off the Greek island of Samos, the Greek coast guard said.
At least 30 migrants were believed to be initially on board the vessel that foundered off the rocky shores of Agios Isidoros in the north-western part of the Aegean island, according to coast guard officials.
The three migrants found dead were all women, a coastguard official said. Five migrants had been rescued so far, among them a pregnant woman and a minor, who were taken to hospital for medical checks, another official told Reuters.
Four vessels and a naval helicopter were participating in the search-and-rescue operation launched by the coast guard early in the morning, after a resident reported the arrival of a few migrants on the shore.
Strong winds in the area hindered the operation, the official added.
The Greek authorities were also searching the island in case some of those believed missing had already reached the shore.
Greece was a favoured gateway to the European Union for migrants and refugees from the Middle East, Africa and Asia between 2015 and 2016, when nearly one million people landed on its islands, mostly via inflatable dinghies.
The flow of people dropped off before resurging in 2023. REUTERS
