It has been a nightmare. Brand new Beneteau Antares 11 with several problems. Persitent and unresolved overhead leaks when it rains, engine problems on brand new Merc 300's, late, late delivery, missing items on delivery, some poor workmaship on several components - some major, some minor (capstain loose, cabinets misaligned, privacy curtais fell to the floor on the very first use, only delivered with one set of keys for twin motors, even the wrong size toilet seat installed). Some of the problems were clearly Soth Wharf issue, some were Beneteau quality control. Happy to discuss with anyone who contacts me

Unless you have a multi -million dollar yacht they won't pay any attention to you- Buyer beware - owner is horrible !! Never buy a used boat here

Great staff. Beautiful location, perfect if you want to visit Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket or even cuttyhunk. Padanaram harbor is a great quiet place to boat

I have kept my boat there for the last two winters and I can report that they do an excellent job. They had the misfortune of taking over right after the legendary Concordia company left -- a tough act to follow. The first couple of years were a little rocky, but they have since hired some really good people. All work done on my Cape Dory 300 motorsailor, has been competent and reasonably priced, and I would recommend them to anyone.

A place with great potential but management needs improvement. Service quality is limited. Coolant never put into engines, hoses crimped and little attention to detail. Beautiful spot in a great little village but little regard to the needs of the boaters. Staff is always changing and work is never on time. If you do your own work its great or are buying one of their boats. Very sad as it is a special location. Major interest is in charging upfront and not delivering. No one balks at paying when you own a big boat. The issue is paying and then finding that work is not done. This is pretty scary when you are out at sea with potential problems that can be life threatening. Priorities need to be adjusted ASAP to retain clientele and to bring this place forward as a treasured stop for transients and seasonal boaters.

Cape Yachts president and founder, Dave Nolan, has spent nearly his entire professional career in the marine industry building the company from one of the leading small sailboat dealerships to the respected full-service yacht sales and servicing company it is today. During this time, Dave has been hands-on in nearly every aspect of boating from bottom painting, launching, and hauling, to leading complex yacht customization projects at South Wharf.

Dave grew up just outside of Syracuse, New York boating on Skaneateles Lake in the summer, skiing in the winter, and playing jazz piano nearly anytime in between. After graduating in 1984 from St. Bonaventure University, Dave became a CPA with Price Waterhouse working with a group of diverse clients from public companies to smaller growth businesses. It was during this time while working with entrepreneurs that Dave discovered his true calling as the founder of his own business. In 1986 he established Cape Water Sports as a seasonal boat rental company on Cape Cod and never looked back.

The success of Cape Yachts is due in large part to Dave’s Rule #1: One Customer at a Time. As his customers graduated from Sunfishes to daysailers, Dave added the boat lines to keep them part of the family. Today Cape Yachts can proudly boast they have not only sold many customers several yachts over the years but have also sold boats to their children as well.

Over the span of his career, Dave continues to participate in boards and charities including Beneteau’s Development Council, contributing to Make-A-Wish Foundation and many local community programs. It should come as no surprise that Dave is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting upland, bow, and flyfish. When not at the yard with our customers and dedicated employees, Dave is aboard his powerboat cruising with his family in New England and the Florida Keys. Dave and his wife, Jane have been married for over 30 years and have three children.

He has successfully managed South Wharf Yacht Yard as its Owner/Manager since its inception and has successfully managed Cape Yachts since 1986. Dave is active within the boating industry and our local community in addition to his duties at South Wharf & Cape Yachts.
